I'm glad you're back in town, i think you should try paseo Morelos at night, restaurants just opened on the cerro de las Noas, this sunday its game day, Santos vs Monterrey at the Corona Stadium. Enjoy your visit!
Thanks! Yes regarding night time I mentioned in this video that I have been out down there at night a few times but due to darkness and copyrighted music it's not possible to film unfortunately! Someone else told me about the restaurants up the Cerro! I'll be up there in the next video...again!
Very reminiscent of the United States, even though it is not that close to the border. It's like a small Monterrey x Chihuaha. I like that city, maybe one day I'll visit. These 4K walks are pretty cool.
I just got this video and it's very nice how you express yourself in torreón since many tourists go to other types of cities I'll see your other videos 💜 10 of 10 you're already a lagoon 💜
You started you route just a couple of blocks from my home. It was an estrange feeling for me to see all of those streets that I know so well, thorough the eyes of a visitor, I can't really explain it but it was cool
Excellent video, David. Brings back fond memories of my mother's hometown. I have not been back there in over 10 years...why, you may ask...I don't know the real truth. Everytime I go, the place gets bigger and more new things like the TELEFERICO pops up.
Yes there is a lot of similariies not only in the cities , but the culture itself from notheast Mexico and Texas. Also David did you see around minute 28 the really cool and original traffic lights !

My city! YAY! I noticed that you look the opposite way while crossing the streets sometimes, I wonder if it is the Brit in you making you look the wrong way, LOL. My wife is British, when I go visit them, I always have that same issue 😂 Also, about the Torreón signs, they actually swap them, the brown one is now located in Alameda park, in front of the "Pensador" fountain, and the colourful ones are now there, in Plaza Mayor, I thought you should now. 😅
Hey man OMG after 6 years of making videos someone has finally noticed the looking the wrong way thing LOL. It's never going to go away is it. Thanks for the sign clarification! I think I prefer the colorful one
Hey I was in Madrid a couple of years ago but only very briefly. Unfortunately I am coming to the end of making videos after 6 years of traveling and I'm moving on to other projects later this year so I don't have any upcoming plans for Spain, sorry! Another Torreón video up on Wednesday, I'll be filming another one in Gomez next week!
You need to check out the Gran Hotel in Historic district of CDMX. The Tiffany glass ceiling is amazing. They also have a restaurant on the roof that gives a perfect view of the Zocalo.
@@davidostrowski679 I expected as much. Your video reminded me of it. I stayed there in January 2016. They did the ceremony with baby Jesus bread (Rosca de Reyes) on tables circling the Zocalo.
Enjoyed your walk around Torreón. You’re getting so much better at rolling your rrrrs! I think it’s because you’re using your voice instead of exhaling through them, if that makes any sense…… 🙃
Oh man, my hometown, you should check both teathers, and the 2 most iconic hotels, the "Princesa" and, "Nazas". Also, you should go to a "Lucha libre" night.
It's a shame that I am missing two things to be able to watch 4K videos in 4K. The 4K monitor, which I don't have, and the graphics card that can process 4K. I think my internet connection is 4K capable. However, many people have 4K TVs, probably that would show 4K videos with no extra hardware.
This time l paid more attention to Torreon and it is quite a handsome city. I kept noticing the ample sidewalks, l have the impression that these are the widest sidewalks even compared to the other Northern cities, uniformly speaking. The Texas lookalike plaza with the tall 1920's or 30's buildings and that sign with Olivetti and Olympia typewriters, are they still in use or is it old advertising. David, you are seasoned veteran of the midday heat in Northern Mexico, you should be able to handle the hearwaves of Europe better, just noticing how brave you are walking in the midday heat.

I was intrigued by your observation that maybe people are more on the street in the middle of the day than, say, in Obregon. Maybe the higher altitude? I ought to visit American cities near the border. I suspect the differences are dramatic in their way. Wealth sure would be a factor, not that the border is magic. Among the things you do well is to say no to magical thinking, which is different from having a magical town. Our minds are not the town. In that way, magic is an atmosphere we understand, not a power that makes something so. But I bring this up because it's interesting to see the American model versus the Mexican one and the way they intertwine. So let's throw in the UK. Nice England and nice Bangladesh, not so different in size from North Carolina - or a similar sized space in the heart of Mexico around Mexico City. So many great spots to build a house and live the dream. America's been built on MoTown even as Detroit center became a shadow. Many reasons! But they become apparent at the border cities. I've blathered before but will again, I hope that Mexico, despite it's dramatic politics, is more mature - or less set in it's ways - and can still maintain more interesting places for its children. And travelers to the smaller places, like you!
Much of Torreon looks like it could easily be in the Los Angeles suburbs. It looks a lot like Riverside or San Bernardino, but without the strip malls, tattooed hipsters with man buns and homeless addicts shitting on the sidewalk.
