Una cosa que puede ser frustrante es cuando algunos de ustedes 'se quejan' de que no hice absolutamente todo en este video. Por favor, comprenda lo siguiente: - Filmar un video toma alrededor de 3 veces más que una visita turística regular. - Solo estuve UN DÍA en Torreón para poder visitar Puente de Ojuela en el video posterior a este. Tuve 5 horas para filmar esto un sábado porque también trabajo a tiempo completo como maestra. - Mis videos no pueden durar 10 horas. Por lo general, incluyo primeras impresiones, 1 ejemplo de comida y 1 o dos actividades para mantener el video en un máximo de 20 minutos. - Muy a menudo, filmo VÍDEOS MÚLTIPLES en un solo lugar, por lo tanto, no todo aparecerá en un solo video. - He filmado más de 140 videos en México, por lo que muchas de las cosas que se mencionan ya han aparecido en numerosos videos, por ejemplo, gorditas. Dije en este video que 'comí gorditas en el video anterior en Nombre de Dios', por lo tanto, ¡no voy a tener las mismas cosas en todos los videos! - Por favor, no digas que me he "perdido" cosas; no sabes lo que hice cuando estuve allí. No todo está filmado o incluido en el video. - No se puede filmar en museos, no está permitido. No puedo filmar después del anochecer debido a la poca iluminación. No puedo filmar en bares de clubes debido a la música con derechos de autor. ¡Espero que esto aclare algunos puntos antes de comentar!

@@davidostrowski679 yo vivo en Torreón, definitivamente, hay más cosas por visitar y variedad gastronómica por degustar, el pan lagunero es patrimonio de la humanidad 😊. Lástima que el canal de la perla esté cerrado, te protegería mucho del calor. Si regresas en Julio/Agosto es aun más caluroso 😂

Torreón is very different from other Mexican cities. When the city of Torreon was founded, it was built by different ethnic groups, Germans, Spanish, French, Arabs, English, Chinese and Japanese. That is why the city has many buildings very varied in its designs and there a lot of variety of people too

@@davidostrowski679 así es, por eso habemos muchas personas como en mi caso por ejemplo soy de ascendencia china, mi bisabuelo también perteneció a la comunidad china en la época revolucionaria, así que por eso aquí hay muchas personas de ascendencia árabe, China, francesa, española y más aparte que aún llevamos nuestros orígenes en el apellido 🤗
Suelo seguir a varios youtubers del estilo de David y es el primero que veo que viene a Torreón. Ojalá esto motive que vengan más y descubran que tambiien aquí tenemos mucho que ofrecer.

Nooo mames que haces en mi Torreón ? Mis respetos por aguantar el clima yo te recomendaría que vinieras en Octubre el mejor clima en la ciudad. Torreón no es turístico solo los laguneros podemos vivir aqui soportar el clima y todos sus males pero ante todo vivimos bien en paz hasta el momento no hay tanta violencia como antes .
Ciertamente no visitaste los museos, ni los parques, ni el estadio, ni los teatros, las unidades deportivas. Y no probaste los taquitos en sus diferentes versiones, las gorditas tan únicas de la región como el pan francés, el menudo o la birria . Por ejemplo en el Teleférico pasaste por encima de una compañía minera. Te agradezco mucho por hacer éste video, por ver lo mejor de esta tierra Lagunera aquí las personas somos francas,cálidas y amables aunque hablemos como enojados ... Y nuestro clima pues si es muy caluroso y seco. Las noches y fines de semana son diferentes sobre la Av. Morelos, la Alameda, El Fundadores. El Venustiano Carranza, Las plazas Comerciales 4 Caminos y Galerias. Torreón es de gente trabajadora... Gracias nuevamente..
¡Gracias Sara! ¡No visito museos en videos porque generalmente no puedes filmar en ellos! Tenía gorditas en el video anterior en Nombre de Dios, así que no quería repetirme. Gracias por todas las sugerencias, creo que solo resalta que realmente hay cosas que hacer en Torreón. Sé lo que quieres decir con la gente, muy cálida y servicial. Yo mismo, gruñón y agresivo, así que encajo bien jaja Las gorditas son mis favoritas. Fui a las gorditas de Dona Aleja en Nombre de Dios, ¡algunas de mis favoritas!
Me gustó el vídeo a pesar de que si faltó mucho centro que recorrer y comida que probar, hay mucha historia entre estás viejas calles, ojalá puedas volver y conocer un poco más, saludos!
Estaba asustado lo dijo al final del video seria interesante saber quien le dijo que no visitara Torreón . Soy lagunero de corazón pero hay que ser autocriticos La Laguna entera se ha vuelto un mega rancho no crecemos en nada como nos hace falta el Estado Laguna
Exacto nuestra gastronomía es muy típica y regional, el pan francés y las gorditas sólo las encuentras en la Comarca Lagunera así como la Reliquia sería bueno que visitaras la ciudad en tiempos de reliquia y probaras el asado, también te faltó la discada jeje 😋 e ir a nuestros queridismo estadio de Fut ball y beis ball, en el estadio TSM vas a encontrar una réplica del Cristo de las Noas, así que tienes que regresar hiciste un reportaje excelente de nuestra ciudad. 🙌
OMG, Im from Torreon and never I laught and felt proud of my city. I mean, I love it a lot, and I know that is not too beautiful as other cities of México, but has that little thing that make it you love it
I'm from Torreon and living in California and is very nice to see and hear an unbiased aprisiation of my home town. Locals exaggerate to the max about it and as you said at the beginning foreigners ignore the reality of it and can be very dismissing about its carácter. This town was created little more than a 100 years ago, born out of the industrial revolution and the railroad. From the beginning it attracted North American French Chinese and mostly German industry. And the city was planned as an American city with city blocks measured in yards that's the reason you don't see the typical Spanish old style architecture.
Fascinating stuff tocayo! It does definitely seem to be misunderstood, I really liked it and most of all anyone I met were extremely helpful despite any politics related tension. Good to hear from Torreón natives!

Cómo Torreón pocos, es chico si, es feo tal vez, sucio en algunas zonas, pero mucho de esto no es por la gente que vivimos hay tan bien tiene mucho que ver el gobierno y tan bien son problemas que creo todas las ciudades tienen pero eso es punto y aparte como dije como mi Torreón pocas ciudades tenemos. Aeropuerto, estadio, equipo de fútbol, equipo de basquetbol, equipo de béisbol, tenemos una historia tan basta, museo, lugares de esparcimiento en fin tenemos mucho y muchas cosas por qué nos conozcan si somos un "pueblo" como muchos nos dicen pero ya muchos quisieran este pueblo amoooooo a mi Torreón y no lo cambiaría por ninguna ciudad
Y si se hubiera juntado con alguien de Torreón tal vez hubiera conocido más cosas sin salir de la zona que visitó está el museo de moneda, museo del ferrocarril, museo del algodón, la casa del cerro cada edificio que se ve al rededor de la plaza de armas tiene una gran historia de la revolución mexicana y si con ese lonche quedó impresionada con uno del pato se muere, le faltó probar las gorditas y el menudo que solo aquí lo pruebas y comes como en ninguna parte pe México la faltaron muchas cosas por ver y por hacer simplemente en ese pequeño espacio que visitó debería de volver y con gusto le doy un buen tout

I'm from Torreón and I can tell you are another kind of crazy🤣🤣... I'm used to the weather here, but there's no way I will go out to walk before the sun goes down... We literally call Torreón the city that defeated the desert... Nevertheless this was such a great video, thank you for giving my city a chance💕
Random facts: Torreón is one of the youngest cities in the country the dowtown area is the oldest side , (actually are suburbs now) buildings there are from Revolution era (1910) , the other side of the city is kind of modern. The city was "zona caliente" during the war against drugs during 2010's, so economic investments stopped for a while, reactivating again just a couple of years ago. Torreón has a huge Industrial and commercial development, exports world wide, gold, silver, milk, beer among other things, International companies operate, like John Deere, Milwaukee, Yura, Caterpillar Besides "lonches", the most popular food are "gorditas" Even the desertic weather, through decades snow has fallen some Winters

Been there a few times and will be there again in a week or so. Torreon is a nice (though hot) city, but with plenty to see, eat an experience. Nice of you to show some of it. Keep it up.
Great video! I’ve been to Coahuila many times. My wife is from Monclova so I go there multiple times a year and I’ve had nothing but great experiences there other than people look at me like I’m the first gringo that’s ever been to Monclova haha. I’d recommend checking out Cuatrocienegas, it’s a cute little Pueblo magico. Also if you go to Monterrey then I’d definitely recommend checking out Santiago. Buen viaje!

Whoever told you lonches were meant for two people... they lied to you 😅 Edit: also that bread that the lonche is made of is called "pan francés"(the best bread ever imo) and i believe it is only sold in Torreón
You're right. "Pan frances" is only sold in Torreón, Gómez Palacio and Lerdo. I lived 1 year and a half in Saltillo and there weren't "pan frances" and "menudo" was so much different there.

Torreón es una ciudad segura en éstos momentos. Como por el 2010 tuvimos una ola de violencia muy fuerte (a la que obviamente no estábamos acostumbrados) pero afortunadamente quedó atrás. Puedes estar tranquilo :)

I used to go to the Plaza The Armas and play and sing with my guitar just for fun, I was born in the U.S but my entire family are from Torreon, I lived a great part of my childhood in there, and all I have to say is, Torreon is just so damn beautiful in it's own way, como Torreon NO HAY OTRO!!!: )

I've lived here all my life (almost 30 years) and it's nice to see foreign people like David coming to Torreón and realizing it's nothing like everyone thinks, you come here and you can find a lot of nice people, things to do, places to go and our gastronomy is amazing. Of course there's insecurity in some places of the city, the same thing happens if you go to everywhere else but you can also have a pretty nice trip and leave with just as amazing an experience as David had, or even a better one. I really hope more people come and visit the city so they could live that experience.

Agreed amigo, I have only been in Acapulco and Taxco but both are two of my favourites. Back in March before I decided to head north, Zihuatanejo was a possibility but I couldn't find anywhere suitable to stay (I left it too late, my mistake). There will be some Mazatlán videos coming later this month. Looking forward to a beach!
Wow..amazing video. I was invited by a co worker after been fishing in Alaska for a season back in 91-92 to go with him and visit his place in Mexico..which happened to be in Torreon. I spent a month with him and his family in their house/restaurant in the centro. I spoke no spanish at the time but had the time of my life. We were going to music venues and meeting cool Mexican girls from the near by University. I had always wanted to go back and try to find him and his family since we've lost contact over the decades. It was great to see how developed it has gotten over the past 30 years since I was there. Now after this video I'm convinced that I've gotta make it back to Torreon for a visit. I was born in Torreón but haven’t been back in 25 years. So many wonderful memories of what seems like a different time. Teleférico is definitely new. I was so young I never made it to Cristo de las Noas . What a great view. Glad you tried a Lonche. Next time try the gorditas. You’re right, Torreón is not typically on anyone’s radar, foreigners and even Mexicans outside of Coahuila. Algorithm surprised me with this video. Thanks for visiting mi Tierra .

Nice video, Torreón is amazing I moved here. Also in Torreón there are so many different Gorditas and btw the underground canals are not closed the entrance is in a other part.

Very entertaining video David, you are visiting the hinterland of Mexico which is the core of Northern Mexico, about half the size of Mexico. Not even many Mexicans go there. In Northern Mexico they use the English word "lunch" meaning " almuerzo" in Spanish. The thought occurred to me, what are you going to do without jalapeños in Riga. As always a great angle to your videos.
Good question amigo! I've never really liked jalapeños but they really give things a kick. I might be in Belgrade again before Riga, the only place I've ever found a Mexican restaurant close to the standard of proper Mexican food!

Shocking! Moderately intrigued LOL. Yeah I liked Torreón, there doesn't seem to be the same kind of tourist infrastructure as Durango but at least there are some interesting things to do. Quite a quiet city in the centre even on a Saturday afternoon when this was filmed. Cerro de Las Noas was a gem

Te faltó conocer la reliquia, los tacos, las gorditas (muy únicas del lugar), ver las danzas, las peregrinaciones, El estado que está al lado se llama durango, los municipios que colindan con torreon de durango, son Gómez y Lerdo y juntos con torreon son la "comarca lagunera" solo un río los separa, vivo en el limite del río y es realmente extraño estar en el río y saber que estás en el limite de dos estados! Una cosa que puede ser frustrante es cuando algunos de ustedes 'se quejan' de que no hice absolutamente todo en este video. Por favor, comprenda lo siguiente:
- Filmar un video toma alrededor de 3 veces más que una visita turística regular.
- Solo estuve UN DÍA en Torreón para poder visitar Puente de Ojuela en el video posterior a este. Tuve 5 horas para filmar esto un sábado porque también trabajo a tiempo completo como maestra.
- Mis videos no pueden durar 10 horas. Por lo general, incluyo primeras impresiones, 1 ejemplo de comida y 1 o dos actividades para mantener el video en un máximo de 20 minutos.
- Muy a menudo, filmo VÍDEOS MÚLTIPLES en un solo lugar, por lo tanto, no todo aparecerá en un solo video.
- He filmado más de 140 videos en México, por lo que muchas de las cosas que se mencionan ya han aparecido en numerosos videos, por ejemplo, gorditas. Dije en este video que 'comí gorditas en el video anterior en Nombre de Dios', por lo tanto, ¡no voy a tener las mismas cosas en todos los videos!
- Por favor, no digas que me he "perdido" cosas; no sabes lo que hice cuando estuve allí. No todo está filmado o incluido en el video.

Torreón is very different from other Mexican cities. When the city of Torreon was founded, it was built by different ethnic groups, Germans, Spanish, French, Arabs, English, Chinese and Japanese. That is why the city has many buildings very varied in its designs and there a lot of variety of people too

Torreón no es turístico solo los laguneros podemos vivir aqui soportar el clima y todos sus males pero ante todo vivimos bien en paz hasta el momento no hay tanta violencia como antes .

Ciertamente no visitaste los museos, ni los parques, ni el estadio, ni los teatros, las unidades deportivas. Y no probaste los taquitos en sus diferentes versiones, las gorditas tan únicas de la región como el pan francés, el menudo o la birria .
Por ejemplo en el Teleférico pasaste por encima de una compañía minera.

Exacto nuestra gastronomía es muy típica y regional, el pan francés y las gorditas sólo las encuentras en la Comarca Lagunera así como la Reliquia sería bueno que visitaras la ciudad en tiempos de reliquia y probaras el asado, también te faltó la discada jeje 😋 e ir a nuestros queridismo estadio de Fut ball y beis ball, en el estadio TSM vas a encontrar una réplica del Cristo de las Noas, así que tienes que regresar hiciste un reportaje excelente de nuestra ciudad. 🙌

I'm from Torreon and living in California and is very nice to see and hear an unbiased aprisiation of my home town. Locals exaggerate to the max about it and as you said at the beginning foreigners ignore the reality of it and can be very dismissing about its carácter. This town was created little more than a 100 years ago, born out of the industrial revolution and the railroad. From the beginning it attracted North American French Chinese and mostly German industry. And the city was planned as an American city with city blocks measured in yards that's the reason you don't see the typical Spanish old style architecture.
Fascinating stuff tocayo! It does definitely seem to be misunderstood, I really liked it and most of all anyone I met were extremely helpful despite any politics related tension. Good to hear from Torreón natives!

Cómo Torreón pocos, es chico si, es feo tal vez, sucio en algunas zonas, pero mucho de esto no es por la gente que vivimos hay tan bien tiene mucho que ver el gobierno y tan bien son problemas que creo todas las ciudades tienen pero eso es punto y aparte como dije como mi Torreón pocas ciudades tenemos. Aeropuerto, estadio, equipo de fútbol, equipo de basquetbol, equipo de béisbol, tenemos una historia tan basta, museo, lugares de esparcimiento en fin tenemos mucho y muchas cosas por qué nos conozcan si somos un "pueblo" como muchos nos dicen pero ya muchos quisieran este pueblo amoooooo a mi Torreón y no lo cambiaría por ninguna ciudad
Y si se hubiera juntado con alguien de Torreón tal vez hubiera conocido más cosas sin salir de la zona que visitó está el museo de moneda, museo del ferrocarril, museo del algodón, la casa del cerro cada edificio que se ve al rededor de la plaza de armas tiene una gran historia de la revolución mexicana y si con ese lonche quedó impresionada con uno del pato se muere, le faltó probar las gorditas y el menudo que solo aquí lo pruebas y comes como en ninguna parte pe México la faltaron muchas cosas por ver y por hacer simplemente en ese pequeño espacio que visitó debería de volver y con gusto le doy un buen tout

Torreón is one of the youngest cities in the country
the dowtown area is the oldest side , (actually are suburbs now) buildings there are from Revolution era (1910) , the other side of the city is kind of modern.
The city was "zona caliente" during the war against drugs during 2010's, so economic investments stopped for a while, reactivating again just a couple of years ago.
Torreón has a huge Industrial and commercial development, exports world wide, gold, silver, milk, beer among other things,
International companies operate, like John Deere, Milwaukee, Yura, Caterpillar
Besides "lonches", the most popular food are "gorditas"
Even the desertic weather, through decades snow has fallen some Winters

Great video! I’ve been to Coahuila many times. My wife is from Monclova so I go there multiple times a year and I’ve had nothing but great experiences there other than people look at me like I’m the first gringo that’s ever been to Monclova haha. I’d recommend checking out Cuatrocienegas, it’s a cute little Pueblo magico. Also if you go to Monterrey then I’d definitely recommend checking out Santiago. Buen viaje!

You're right. "Pan frances" is only sold in Torreón, Gómez Palacio and Lerdo. I lived 1 year and a half in Saltillo and there weren't "pan frances" and "menudo" was so much different there.

Torreón es una ciudad segura en éstos momentos. Como por el 2010 tuvimos una ola de violencia muy fuerte (a la que obviamente no estábamos acostumbrados) pero afortunadamente quedó atrás.

I've lived here all my life (almost 30 years) and it's nice to see foreign people like David coming to Torreón and realizing it's nothing like everyone thinks, you come here and you can find a lot of nice people, things to do, places to go and our gastronomy is amazing. Of course there's insecurity in some places of the city, the same thing happens if you go to everywhere else but you can also have a pretty nice trip and leave with just as amazing an experience as David had, or even a better one. I really hope more people come and visit the city so they could live that experience.

First off I wanna say thank you so much for going there! I was born in Torreon, and moved to the states at age 4 I haven’t been back in 17 years. Being able to see how the city is 17 years later through this video is tear dropping!

Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo, Guerrero is underrated.
Agreed amigo, I have only been in Acapulco and Taxco but both are two of my favourites. Back in March before I decided to head north, Zihuatanejo was a possibility but I couldn't find anywhere suitable to stay (I left it too late, my mistake). There will be some Mazatlán videos coming later this month. Looking forward to a beach!

Wow..amazing video. I was invited by a co worker after been fishing in Alaska for a season back in 91-92 to go with him and visit his place in Mexico..which happened to be in Torreon. I spent a month with him and his family in their house/restaurant in the centro. I spoke no spanish at the time but had the time of my life. We were going to music venues and meeting cool Mexican girls from the near by University. I had always wanted to go back and try to find him and his family since we've lost contact over the decades. It was great to see how developed it has gotten over the past 30 years since I was there. Now after this video I'm convinced that I've gotta make it back to Torreon for a visit. I know what you mean about Spanish, three years ago I could basically ask for beer only (I studied German at school and college) but going to places like Torreón are invaluable to our language learning!

I was born in Torreón but haven’t been back in 25 years. So many wonderful memories of what seems like a different time. Teleférico is definitely new. I was so young I never made it to Cristo de las Noas . What a great view. Glad you tried a Lonche. Next time try the gorditas. You’re right, Torreón is not typically on anyone’s radar, foreigners and even Mexicans outside of Coahuila. Algorithm surprised me with this video. Thanks for visiting mi Tierra .

Very entertaining video David, you are visiting the hinterland of Mexico which is the core of Northern Mexico, about half the size of Mexico. Not even many Mexicans go there. In Northern Mexico they use the English word "lunch" meaning " almuerzo" in Spanish. The thought occurred to me, what are you going to do without jalapeños in Riga. As always a great angle to your videos.
Good question amigo! I've never really liked jalapeños but they really give things a kick. I might be in Belgrade again before Riga, the only place I've ever found a Mexican restaurant close to the standard of proper Mexican food!
Born and raised in Torreon, went to school at Alfonso Rodriguez and Preparatoria Venustiano Carranza in the early 60s....Moved to Chicago in the late 60s and went back only for one week in 1995....Planning to go very soon to visit the city that has become a beautiful city....Thank you David for sharing this video, very interesting to see you enjoy every part of this busy and wonderful city.....Muchas Gracias por visitor Torreon....

Shocking! Moderately intrigued LOL. Yeah I liked Torreón, there doesn't seem to be the same kind of tourist infrastructure as Durango but at least there are some interesting things to do. Quite a quiet city in the centre even on a Saturday afternoon when this was filmed. Cerro de Las Noas was a gem

Si amigo, suelo ir a museos en la mayoría de las ciudades de México, pero normalmente no se te permite filmar en ellos y no quiero molestar a otras personas. Vi el estadio de fútbol desde la distancia pero solo puedo incluir una selección en cada video de lo contrario serían 3 horas de duración jaja. ¡Gracias por ver!

El estado que está al lado se llama durango, los municipios que colindan con torreon de durango, son Gómez y Lerdo y juntos con torreon son la "comarca lagunera" solo un río los separa, vivo en el limite del río y es realmente extraño estar en el río y saber que estás en el limite de dos estados! Saludos :)
