Fellow doctor here, pls don't take up medicine for money, you will regret for your life... You can earn a lot more money in other fields than in medicine at very early age without having to compromise with personal, family and social life (as many doctors don't have one) minus the physical and mental stress neglecting one's own health.

Medical field is saturated now India is producing doctors at a rate of 2 lakh per year(1 lakh mbbs and 1 lakh ayush and others). Mark my words after 10 years from now if you get a job being a doctor that would b a miracle. Salaries of mbbs doctor have reduced drastically. In corporate hospitals they are hiring mbbs docs for as low as 20 to 30 k before 10 years they used to pay 1 lakh and now instead of paying 2 lakhs they are giving 20 k 😅 imagine what will happen after 5 to 6 years.

I don't think that will happen any time soon. India has only 10 lakh registered doctors to cater to 1.3 billion citizens. While urban areas have 58% qualified doctors, in rural areas the number is as low as 18.8%. There is one government doctor for every 10,189 people according to WHO against the recommended ratio of 1:1,000.which means there is shortage of doctors in India. I think this salary thing is happening because we don't have even development of medical infrastructure in the country. while big metro city have many private and government hospitals, small towns and villages are deprived of basic facilities. we need quality hospitals with top notch facilities in every part of the country so that more doctors get job and people get better healthcare facilities.

Guys I am saying this by experience, remember this carefully, after 12th u should sacrifice 12 years of ur life, u should study hard like anything to become a MD DM. If u want to study only MBBS, no body will give shit about you in hospital. Frankly speaking in corporate side DMO's write only notes and repeats in case sheet. That's it they don't have any authority to change notes or advice any drugs exept the treating consultant (not in emergency). Lot of people think that doctors make tones of money but in reality on, average MBBS fellow makes 25k per month.Pani puri fellow who sells across the street makes 30k to 40k per month. If you become MD DM ur salary will be depends on which department u have chosen. It may vary from 80k to 3l and above. There will be very very less personal life if u choose medicine. This is only for doctors not for nurses, paramedic's and others. Please don't take it in a wrong way. I am just telling the truth.

Miss! Getting into medicine especially in India is so so competitive. People taking 2-3 years of gap years are also not able to score marks that will lead them to govt college. Peple in India are going to Russia, Ukraine and other countries to study medicine. Thats another case if you hace enough money to get enrolled in private mesical college which costs you around 1 crore at the end of your curriculum. And if you want to earn money, there is a lot more money in other sectors than medicine. Medicine is a very noble profession, please eont degrade it by saying you only want to study medicine for money!
