"No way she can eat all that bok choy!" Then I made it and ate the whole plate - it is so good!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Yess it’s very delicate
now I can finally eat a pound of bok choy every day 💕 (no joke, I love this stuff)
I've never had it... what does it taste like?
@@Britttanyy It doesn't have a strong taste, and I find it a bit watery personally (but maybe I've just been cooking it wrong). Sort of like spinach with a much much thicker, crunchy stem.
@@marzipanmango oh ok, thanks I wanna try it but was just curious of the taste/texture
@@marzipanmango sounds about right
@Carol tbh I really don't eat Chinese food like that. If I do order Chinese I get the same thing everytime. Shrimp lo mien or hot and sour soup.. tbh I dunno some of the stuff in the soup but I eat it anyways lol
The way she decked us with that bok choy. Thanks queen 🥰
The hell does that even mean.?
“Decked”used to mean get hit in the face before. As in “decked in the face”
@@ogmeow she touched the camera with the bowl at the beginning for the transition. It just made a loud noise so it seemed kinda aggressive (why they said decked us), though obviously wasn’t :)

I felt it *boom pow!*
It is so nice to see REAL Chinese food being taught. Well done
I would have never known about the oyster sauce/soy sauce combination without this channel. GOAT combo
Good for you. We Filipinos know that combo all too well.
Yes ,the two combined together is an absolute must together .I thought everyone used this combo in most of their their cooking dishes especially the two mix well for particularly sauces
@@InevitableTruth. Well, it's a very common way of cooking a Ginisa(Guisado) type of Dishes amongst Filipino Households, a common Home Cook Starter Lesson for Filipino Home Cook.
Add a little rooster sauce to really party
Thank you so much for teaching us the secrets of Chinese cooking! You’re a great instructor - so easy to follow. Love your Chinese dresses (or tops) & the red lipstick!
The Bok Choy looks delicious, but the real star here is your beautiful dress! I love it!
I agree the dress is really nice.
What could be use instead of oyster sauce? Im allergic
@@tejidofacil mushroom sauce. You can get them at Chinese,Malaysian or Thai store.
@@tejidofacil No sauce. Just add sprinkle of salt. I usually add some olive oil in the water so the green leaf will glaze. Also I cut them smaller so that you don't have to eat half the vegetable in one mouthful.
Dude this is life changing for me. I’ve always wanted an excuse to get the box of book choy at Costco. I absolutely love book choy, cooked properly. This recipe looks amazing. Simple and easy. Just the way I like my recipes.
Here's another quick, easy, delicious way to eat bok choy for breakfast. I usually use smaller pak choy but baby bok choy will do and if you only have larger bok choys like shown in the video, you can quarter them. I just saute the pak/bok choys in a large skillet with a good oil like avocado, coconut or olive gently stirring, add some good salt and chopped garlic to taste. When close to done, I add two eggs to fry once over easy, with the bok choy pushed over away from the eggs. I do not blanch the bok choy first but it might be a good idea for bigger tougher pieces. You can spice it up however you want. It makes a great, easy, healthy breakfast, brunch or even night time dinner.
@@greeneyes6311I’m with Mr. Fletcher on this. I love it too and can’t wait to try theirs as well as your suggestions @greeneyes6311 !
That particular bok choy is called Shanghai Bok Choy. As a cousin of cabbage family bok choy has many varieties
Thank you for showing how to cook bok ckoy I've always wonder how to cook bok choy now i will be cooking this for dinner.
You can also use it in like a lo mien vegetable stir-fry. I think Panda Express does either that or its celery stalk as they just use the stalk portion whereas I would slice it all thinly and stir fry it with other veggies and noodles!!! Yum!!!
Love the crunch is still there ❤
Thank you again so very much dear Mandy! I love your tutorials!
You and Your dress are so beautiful! 🥰
Bok choy is one of my favorite vegetables. I really like it best when it is small.
I am trying this. I bought some beautiful locally grown bok choy a few weeks ago. I made it simple because my kids were trying it for the 1st time, but they loved it. They were making rolls with the bok choy and rice. So I have to try this next time.
This looks yummy. I might be tempted to add a wee bit of sesame oil as I really like the flavor it gives to many recipes.
So do I
Nice!
It's amazing
Sure, dude...she's always in the kitchen dressed like that....lol. Stop encouraging stupid shit. I'll probably try the recipe, though.
Yes yes yes to the sesame oil.
I live boo choy! I just use olive oil, garlic & salt.
Your cooking instructions are so easy to follow. I love it!❤
Thank you far you explain everything perfect😊
I love bok choy or chingensai as we call it here. I love it in soups the most!
Bok choy is so tender and sweet. Need to cook it more often! Thanks.
Thank you! Our Farmers Market Vietnamese stand sells beautiful bok choy. Now I'll be able to make your delicious recipe.
How long do you leave the whole boy choy in water, seconds?
Pretty much every time I have gotten bok choy, there has been dirt and a couple dead bugs per bag that I have bought, there is no way I'm not taking every section off the core and washing them anymore 😅 and absolutely no way I'm having it whole in a restaurant
Pre soak with salt n vinegar all veges. All the inpurities including worms will float after a while.
Or soak on a mixture of baking soda and water 👍💯
Yep, by all mean, wash your veggies 🥗
Agreed!! I just found a bug and washed out a pound of silt
It’s no different than any other green. Come on now…. 🙄
How long do you boil the bok choi?
She said to blanch it, so basically, you just put it in boiling water for a few. seconds, a minute at most
This also is great with spinach, probably any leafy green you can cook.
Yes I have cooked bady spinach minus the oyster sauce and it was great.

Collard greens as well!
Thank you for this simple recipe! Greetings from Canada🤍❤️🇨🇦
Looks so easy and so delicious. Thanks, Mandy!
I was sleeping on bok choy for too long. I finally bought some and added it to my ramen. It was delicious. Great texture, and it has a ton of nutrients and fiber 🙌🏽. I'm going to try this method next 🥰. Thank you ❤️
Thank you for such an easy recipe. I think I can do this one🤪
Thank you for sharing this. I always see this in stores but never knew how to cook it until now.
I ran into your channel a few days ago, I don't know why I'm only just now subscribing, took me long enough! Love your content!
Aha, so that’s how you do it 😄, thank you
Thank you for showing me this. Looks yummy! CHOMP!
The way she decked us with that bok choy thanks queen
THANK YOU a for sharing your food! I will start preparing it today!
My favorite is to throw some bok choy into soup noodle, boost your sodium intake with crunch and freshness👌🏻
Sodium? I'd it salty?
You mean potassium? Which balances sodium.
It’s really dirty under those stems i hope everyone knows to wash it
I love your choice of food.
So, how long do you leave it in the boiling water?
30 seconds to a minute
Being able to maintain that figure with all this cooking & eating, THUMBS UP!
Ma’am, you are a natural instructor.
I definitely will start watching more of your videos for the simple fact that you post the ingredients right on the corner of the left hand side and everything looks beautiful and well presented thanks so much for being a great cook and showing us how to do awesome new recipes from your kitchen
I don't like the way you shoved it in my face 😖 *cries a river.
My new years resolution starting now (yes I said new year in September), is to try vegetables I've never eaten before !!!
Today is the Jewish new year for real, so you are good to go
Your method of cooking Bok Choy is absolutely delicious!! I watched this MONTHS ago and that was when i first tried it. It was so freaking delicious that my kids wanted some, but deep down inside my mind I was like, "Whaaaaaat!! These kids are tripping." Lol but of course I shared it and they LOVED it. So now I buy 3 packages of Bok Choy and my kids get thrilled when I cook it. I'm making some tonight!! With it, we're having sautéed chicken, jasmine rice, steamed vegetable dumplings, and stir fry vegetables.
Looks
Healthy &
Delicious 😋
That crunch got my mouth watering for sure
Decided to try this and OMG is it soooo good! Thanks!

I'm planting bok choy this year. This is my go to recipe.
Thank you
I have never tasted bok choy but I will now! love these videos
It's a "friendly cabbage". Very sweet (naturally) in some respects.
Thanks for the tips looks great
You can hear that slight crunch as she bites into the bok choy. Cooked to the proper tenderness.
Perfectly presented video. Thank you
I love this!! Thank you!
Thank you for the recipe ❤❤❤
I have bok choy in my refrigerator and now I can fix it! Thank you Mandy
Thank you!
Love your recipes. Thanks
Just bought bok choy last night and I have all the ingredients. I think I’d like to add some ginger too. Thank you!
Thank you, i just bought some today!
Thank you 🙏🏾
Thank you so for showing me how to cook them!!!
Genius to hold the bok choy stems in the water first so everything cooks evenly. I learned my new thing for the day!
Trying it tonight for dinner after my day is done can't wait to see what it taste likes.
I wish my supermarket didn't only sell them about a stalk and a half at a time. lol oh well it wouldn't be enough to make this.
Thank for sharing this recipe ❤
I love this recipe! I’m so used to having either steamed bok choy or added last minute to soups. They are delicious prepared like that, but sometimes you want a little more flavor with your green vegetables. I use the recipe for leafy greens but also for broccoli, broccolini, broccoli rabe, even green beans. Some you need to blanch longer than others, of course.
She makes these recipes look so easy! New favorite channel!
Had no idea. Thanks!
Masarap talaga yan pati yung isa nakalimutan ko yung May yellow flowers minsan.
Love it. Thank you
Loved you throwing greens at us. Will try this recipe.
The ingredients are very fresh and the food looks really delicious
That is the nicest looking bock Choy! The one at my grocery store looks like it’s been through rough times lok
so THAT's how you avoid the leaf part getting over-cooked and soggy! It's so simple but i genuinely never thought of holding it out of the water while blanching lol 😅 thanks for the tip!
That looks so GOOD!
I love your videos. Please make more.
- shallot / onion 🧅
