Hey, Azusa -- a couple quick tips: just to keep the dye from staining her "skin," rub a layer of oil (even better, vaseline, or something) on her face and neck before applying the dye; you can wash it off when you're all done. And if you want to get a better idea of how the color will end up, just splash a little of the dye onto a white paper towel; that's a pretty close approximation of the finished product.
LOVE the pink -- and the Rit Dye is a great idea (don't know why I used Clairol on mine -- duh) ~

I soaked my barbies hair for 2 hours using fabric softener and conditioner which made the barbies hair super soft like silk

AWESOME I always wanted to dye my 28" barbie doll's hair so I had to start out small by using splat hair color in blue crush on my smaller barbie doll hair so I can make her look like mary STORMER phillips of the misfitz which was the show JEM. truly outrageous but now it time to "THINK BIG" and start using my 28" barbie doll to change her hair color.

It's more of a plum magenta so it's more on the red side...it's concentrated and your softener is also blue 😆

Hi Azusa! I have a question about this - if the dye accidentally gets on the doll's face or body, can it be washed off? I want to dye a doll's hair instead of having it rerooted (and I want to use Rit dye to do it), but I'm afraid of causing permanent stains on the face. :D Thanks so much! And I'm glad this doll's hair came out pink and not purple. :D

Azusa, when you finished soaking her hair in dye and fabric softener, did you rinse it out? Or did you just leave it all in and let it dry? (I’m thinking of dying a Barbie’s hair.) Should I get fabric dye like this, or is there a cheaper option like maybe food dye I could use? Also: Can I substitute the fabric softener for conditioner since it’s a regular sized doll? Please let me know what you would do. Thank you! 🤍
I rinsed it but it wasn't enough so I totally recommend to rinse it well❣️Never tried food dye, sorry I don't know🙈🙇🏼♀️I used fabric softener in the video💖

I too would love to dye multiple dolls of mine hair dark dense black. They are currently blonde haired beauties. I totally don't want to remove the hair from the scalp and later pull them in bit by bit. Do you have any ideas as to how I could dye their hair using Rit synthetic Graphite Dye More without ruining their face ups and bodies. Also would it bleed and stain the vinyl ? Please help.

Hi sweetie!! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas/holiday!! I got so many new toys & pretty things & some new Barbies too! Do you have any Mermaid Barbies?? I had to get the pink hair one lol. When I was 13 I use to dye my hair with fabric dye 😅 the school tried to send me home to wash my hair cuz they had a rule no dying hair with crayola markers but when they called me to the office I said I can’t wash it out it’s not Crayols it’s fabric dye 😸😋
