    This is a really nice biggie pattern and it's interesting to compare different approaches by fly tyers. I watched Barry Ord and his use of hook was clever. Two expert tyers two really nice flies.

    What a great way to start the year. Great pattern. I'll be sure to tie some of those for my next fishing season. Do you think I can tie this another color like chartreuse or light gray?

    • @DavieMcPhail
      @DavieMcPhail  10 лет назад

      Hi Dominique LeBlanc,
      It's a great fly to tye and it does fish really well too..It's also worth tying in many different colours and sizes. I've attached a link to a site that shows a great selection of colours and beautifully tied flies by the gentleman on the site...

    This is really cool, the body looks very realistic :) what kind of a superglue do you use? I have notice that the one I have looses the shine after you use a hair dryer or blow the air on it, must be the quality issue because after you have done it with yours, the head stayed shiny. Cheers and Happy New Year- Pete

    • @DavieMcPhail
      @DavieMcPhail  10 лет назад +2

      Hi Pete,
      It's a really nice fly to tye and as you said it looks very realistic...I use Loctite Easy Brush Superglue which I've always found to be excellent but like any superglue it does have a shelf life so when you see it getting a little heavy then it's time to buy another bottle and you'll never have any problems...
      Happy New Year to you as well and all the very best for 2015...
      Davie...

    Hi Davie.
    I looked at this video a couple of times already before I tied this nymph.
    Knowing this is a 7 years old video, what I'm interested in is, if you would have to tie this nymph now, what would you change? I ask because now there are so many many new materials available.
    Tight lines, Robbie "RobinRed"🇨🇿.

    • @lastcoyote2355
      @lastcoyote2355 3 года назад

      The more I look at this fly , I’m leaning at calling it a scud variation. Unfortunately all the good rivers that I fish are low and no fishing or recreation allowed.😟😟😔😕

    • @DavieMcPhail
      @DavieMcPhail  10 лет назад

      Hiufuk yucel,
      I still have the Law which sits on my shelf as I prefer to use a vise that you can buy than one that you can't, as many ask me what vise do I use and when I say that it was no longer being made I felt I was letting them down by not using one on the market...
