- A video about one of the most interesting respiratory conditions - hypersensitivity pneumonitis. It was previously known as extrinsic allergic alveolitis. This condition can be acute, subacute or chronic. In its chronic form, low-grade exposure and inhalation of certain proteins or microorganisms can trigger an immune response in the lungs, with inflammation and eventually leading to lung scarring (fibrosis).

Thank you sir for this vedio I m suffering from the same problem u discussed with us . CT chest revealed Ggo in sub pleaural posterior lateral left lung n I m living in an environment where birds are there n do a lots of poo n air pushes it in side my room n progressively it has affected my quality of life over last 3 years. Thank you for sharing ur important knowledge over this .
I have just been diagnosed 4 weeks ago ,I rescue poultry had to rehome all birds ,I'm waiting on lung function test to see damage 1st July.
I've had pneumonitis for over 6 months. Still have it. I got it from Keytruda treatment s. The oncologist gave me the 2nd dose of Keytruda when I still had pneumonitis from the 1st treatment. Unfortunately I live in Arkansas and there is not a single lawyer in the state worth it's salt. Eric Schaeffer, oncologist stole what was left of my life.
I am on oxygen now and never was before. I can't shop without an electric cart. I was a hiker and camper prior. Now I'm mostly bed ridden. New oncologist says I just have to wait it out.
I’ve smoked most of my life not heavy though. Ended up getting asthma n took a preventative with no real issues. For the last 18 months I’ve worked as a house cleaner with no increase in asthma or any symptoms however I do consume cannabis to help with insomnia. I had a smoke which tasted weird made me cough like never before and since then I’ve had breathlessness, headaches, cough and wheezing. All progressively getting worse. Had spirometry test dr said it’s copd but get ct scan to rule out lung cancer. Ct shows bilateral ground glass opacities. Dr sesame for bloods which I’m waiting on results now. He mentioned could be sarcoidosis or pneumonitis. I’m petrified as the gasping for air is the worst feeling in the world. Currently on breo & ventolin n a weeks course of prednisone 25mg. Day 3 which seems to help but I’m not sleeping hardly at all. If not coughing waking up for the ventolin. I hope there’s no fibrosis but also HP isn’t that better prognosis. Any information??? 😢
I was just diagnosed with acute HP
Symptoms ?
And I’m allergic to steroids so I’m left with only one option….immunosuppressants
also try to see if you can identify what triggered your HP (even if sometimes it may be hard to find the exact cause). staying away from that would be ideal
I also can not have steroids due to severe steroid myopathy. Doctor has me on my second 3 months course of a respiratory antibiotic, 3 days per week that is brutal 😢 3rd CT scan in a month's time, this year. Fingers crossed the antibiotics are working..

hypersensitivity pneumonitis cure possible?
No cure unless it’s acute I’ve read. Sub acute n potentially chronic can go into remission if it hasn’t progressed to fibrosis - scarring on lungs. I just watched a good video on here from the lung foundation Australia. All the best.
dog groomers lung too!
