I used to own a lib tech skunk ape ( I think ) and it had that “tech” that had the rail line all wavy. I’ve often thought about trying to work this into a surfboard and seeing if it’ll work.
I remember those boards, I never rode one but knew a couple people that had them. They worked well on ice which is mainly what our hills were. Wonder if it would give a surfboard rail similar grip in the wave the same way a bat tail does. Might be work trying.
Took me a while to get around to watching this video but I'm glad I did. I always enjoy the production quality of your work. Sounds like an interesting project...carry on! Did ya get any Sam surfing in? From the pictures I've seen from up your way, it looks like Sam delivered some nice swell. I had fun trying to surf the waves at Mavillette but they were too big for me and I got spanked when I went outside...I did try though! The period was loooong like about 15 secs or so. I've been out the last 3 Sundays in a row but I still can't get that bottom turn down...Doh! I did get one turn in and a small "trim of the line" one session and it was nice to at least experience it once...lol! Now that I have a taste I want MORE!!! Take care Matt! Cheers, John 😁✌
Thanks John! I've been getting out a little bit but I've been taking it easy the last couple weeks. I injured my ribs a couple storms back so paddling has been tricky. I'm hoping for some more swell now that I'm almost fully healed and before the cold weather really sets in. Glad to hear your improving! Once you get that turn and are trimming down the line it gets addictive fast. Hopefully more swell is headed in our directions soon!
@@WaveWasters Dude!!! Sorry to hear about your injury 😢 I hope you are feeling better...looks like Sam has "sucked" all the swell out of the Atlantic for the present time anyhow. It's totally flat down here at Mavillette and it doesn't look too stellar up your way either. At least the temptation is gone to go surfing if the waves are there, eh? I haven't taken the time to watch Part deux of your latest build but I will soon... Take care, John
@@funafter5081 I was just healed enough to get the last bit of swell before it disappeared. I'd be fine to go now if there was waves, wasn't a bad injury but enough I couldn't paddle for long periods of time. Hopefully were out of the flat spell soon and back in the water before the cold water starts to set in again.
@@WaveWasters I have found too, that surfing is not without injuries! Besides myself, I have seen or heard of a couple injuries this summer/fall season and they weren't anything to sneeze at. Good to hear that you are better Matt! 👍
Can't wait for part 2..awesome video..
Thanks! Part 2 is already up and I'm trying to finish part 3 soon.

Great name Otter Bite! I'll keep watching to see if you do a graphic of an Otter with big pointy teeth ;)
No otter graphic on this one, but I thought for a while about doing it haha
