i didnt know dunns game before this season. after watching him, its a real treat to watch him on defense. his 1 on 1 d, strips, and passing lane steals is insane. idc if he shoot 2-10, his impact is felt immediately on d
@@ThisisASportsJungle yeah and his offensive game is not bad too. he doesnt take dumb shots or force anything. his go to move seems to be the drive, push off then floater and he hits it regularly. he take open 3s and doesnt hesitate even if hes missing. atp in his career he knows who he is, his weaknesses and doesnt do too much. thats valuable
As a Jazz fan, It makes me very happy to see Kris Dunn continue to find success in the league. His impact on the Jazz the past 2 seasons goes beyond numbers and his journey is very inspiring
Yooo means a lot bro appreciate you!🙏 this is my first like 4 months editing videos and using a mic so I still gotta patch some things up especially audio editing cuz I just got a mic and it sounds the same😭
@@ThisisASportsJungle maybe kinda crazy but would love to see a lil jeff van gundy vid.. pause. but what he’s done for clippers d is unreal. Harden looks engaged and is a legit part of of the d
Dude should be a starting point guard. Dunn is solid off ball, and not an elite creator, but he protects the ball bringing it up, and he can set the table. Ever since D'Antoni let Harden play full time point, he's been obsessed with that, pushing back at playing off ball next to guys like CP3 and Westbrook, and ever since Brooklyn, Harden has been the main guy at point. But he had his winningest teams when he could iso off the wing, with another guy bringing it up a lot. He still shared point duties, but his offense was less predictable. The Pat Bev reference regarding Dunn is a great comp, and he should be used similarly on the offensive side as well, not just on D. Beverly was the point guard next to Harden in Houston under McHale. And they had some success like that in McHale's offensive schemes, reaching the WCF with a roster full of role players (albeit with a too old Jason Terry running point in the '15 playoffs). Yes, Harden would too often just ball watch on the wing when Beverly or Terry were running the show, but for the most part, it made for more unpredictability and some postseason success. D'Antoni moved Harden to point to max out his iso ability from the top of the offense and to prevent that ball watching nonsense. But while it made for great stats and regular season success, it flopped in the playoffs. Only when CP3 came in to run point, did the Rockets become a dynamic playoff-worthy offense again. I realize Lue would get a ton of pushback from Harden and maybe outside criticism as well, were he to move Dunn to point guard, but it would likely lead to some better success in the playoffs.
Another couple great games for Kris since this vid. Never seen much of my boy till he got to the clips but this dude is a dog. The pat bev comparison is certainly a compliment, guy made a lot of $$ in the nba
Kris Dunn needs more isolation plays offensively in the post he has Gary Payton Sr potential posting up or just simply putting his head down & attacking the basket IMO he's a mix of Tony Allen & Rajon Rondo frfr KD8!🦍🔐📈
Agreed. And nah I didn’t see that one it makes sense tho, although he’s a defensive guy, when locked in he can be sort of like a matchup problem like you said with dragging the bigs out and using his slashing skill and bodying the little dudes when giving mid post touches (mainly against a team like the hawks or wolves who don’t have the luxury of putting their small guard on a useless offensive player vs a team like the clippers)
No hurry r n, and even though he's may favorite player we should hold off bringing Kawhi back as long as we can - until March, even. I just don't know how to trust that knee for more than 50 games a year anymore.
Appreciate it bro and yea I can see those two as well. I do think that more people view Eason and Sochan closer to their actual skill level than they do Dunn
Dont do klaw like that brother 😂. He can't help he gets hurt. That man is easily top 10 all time if not being hurt which he can't control for the most part.
@@ThisisASportsJungle It's hypothetical. He's saying that ~ if ~ in 2021 Kawhi doesn't go down in WCSF he had a great shot at another chip. (i.e. PG13 took over and led that squad 6 deep vs Suns in '21 WCF 2 of those Ls were last-second, and Kawhi had beaten Giannis before in a series by guarding him 1v1). So if Zaza didnt step on Klaw's foot in '17 we could be seeing a dude with 3 or 4 titles already. He'd already be right at Bird / LeBron / Dr J (don't forget his ABA chip&MVP, too!) tier of the greatest SFs ever, and with several years left. _[oh well...back to reality]_

Yea man I thought he was really underrated for y’all the last 2 years
Dunn + DJJ + JVG = grit
Fr bro the way those 3 changed the clippers defense is crazy especially when you consider that they lost/are missing 3 good defenders this year
Dunn, Powell and DJJ have been amazing!
Yep. I believe those 3 have been the biggest needle movers for the clippers this season
Powell taking front and center over pg in and of itself was more valuable let alone having 2 stars in addition - Dunn and DJJ.
Great analysis subscribed
Thanks bro means a lot!🙏

Kriss Dunn once again was excellent tonight
Yea bro I just saw the highlights and sheeesh what a defensive clinic
As someone who’s been following him since his rookie year, watching him make this turnaround got me a little sentimental.
