Beetlejuice, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Planes, Trains, and Automobiles, Caddyshack, Ghostbusters, Howard the Duck. How could you forget these? Eh, maybe he forgot to take them off the shelf.
this is a good video, its laid back and nice to watch. I had forgotten some of the movies, and its great that somebody makes a vid about these old vids! :)
honestly why do you watch if you only think negative things this guy is great ! i love his reviews & collections! im out all the time and i still have time for movies .. thats what he likes, thats his passion leave him alone and go watch sumthing else !
Hi. When I was a movie extra in Hollywood in the 1980s I appeared in a bar scene in Brewster's Millions. I stood in occasionally for John Lithgow. I first worked with him in Harry and the Hendersons. I worked a scene in License to Drive but it was cut. I was a SWAT member in Vacation at the theme park. I was an audience member in Vacation 2. I worked some sort of airport scene in Goonies.
Just bought Harry and the Hendersons a couple of months back on DVD. It's the first movie I've ever cried to back in '87...so I was around 4 years old. Great film.
great reviews. i found you once when i was looking for best of 80s horror and now when ever i type best of comedy or anything i see your vids and you have good taste in movies like me so i have found a few to watch through you. thanks bro
My favorite 80’s comedies: Airplane! Fast Times at Ridgemont High A Christmas Story National Lampoon’s Vacation National Lampoon’s European Vacation National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation Sixteen Candles Ghostbusters Ghostbusters II Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure The Breakfast Club Weird Science Ferris Bueller’s Day Off Adventures in Babysitting Ernest Goes To Camp Three O'Clock High Throw Momma From the Train The Great Outdoors License To Drive Ernest Saves Christmas Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure Big Uncle Buck Honey, I Shrunk the Kids Parenthood Little Monsters The Wizard Etc.
Brilliant choices... BIG was an all time childhood fav of mine, loved it. Also splash, breakfast club, uncle buck, porkys. I must have watched summer school the most!!!
This was definitely an amazing video! i myself am too young to have lived in the 80's, but, i love movies from the 80's, i just think they are so much more genuine and the comedies are so much better. But, i have been trying to find good movies from the 80's and after watching this i feel i hit the jackpot! i have watched several of the movies you displayed here but alot of them i havent, so im gonna look them up on netflix and start watching away! Thanks very much!
Hey Shawn, Have you ever seen Real Genius or Like Father Like Son? I have never heard you ever talk about some of these amazing 80s films, I know Breakfast Club/Big and Uncle Buck movies like that are perfect films of the 80s so they kind of overshadow other 80s movies but those two are amazing films also, Would love to hear your opinion.
I love that this guy doesn't care what kind of reviews these movies got. Its shows he's thinking for himself. One of the reviews for "license to drive" says "Everything you've ever hated about teenagers from their haircuts to their music to their pin-ups." So this is my point. Why am I reading a review of a teen movie from someone who hates teenagers? Its the same thing with horror movies. Most of these critics think Freaky Friday is the scariest movie ever made.
Lots of great movies. I don't really consider "Breakfast Club" and "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" true comedies though. One you missed was "Up the Creek".
It's really cool that you're a young dude that appreciates 70s and 80s movies. Cool that the younger gen. still enjoys retro entertainment. License To Drive.. I was 13 in 88. I fell in love with Graham. Later I'd confuse her with Terri Polo in "Mystery Date" another movie you should check out. Ethan Hawke, Teri Polo, date movie that turns into a spy espianoge action movie. One of the few 90s pop performers I like has a song I like in it too. SEAL performing Crazy.
If you forgot to pick up The Goonies DVD off of your shelf, it wouldn't matter anyway. That's mostly an adventure film than comedy, but there are plenty of scenes with comedy in it.
Great selections. We were just talking about UNCLE BUCK the other day. My husband's 16-year-old niece has come to live with us and my husband is having a hard time with all the little boys panting around her. We thought it would be funny to watch it.
My most favorite Comedy Movie of all time is Harlem Nights with Eddie Murphy and Richard Pryor. That's a very good Collection. And another thing, I really like The Breakfast Club. I got that also.
good choices... I think I have at least 70% of those... I'm a John Candy fan too... and Tom Hanks, and Steve Martin, also a big fan of the Farrelly brothers movies. Keep up the good work!
Your vids are soo helpful and I love i mean LOVE just one of the guys too aha its really nice! keep doing 80s dvds aha what decade of movies do u like the most?
Love those films, i have a few on DVD, buy here in the UK some are hard to get & the Region 1`s can be costly for some dvd`s, i have about 1500+ dvd`s, my favorite stuff i collect is 1970`s & 1980`s TV / Horror / Italian Cinema ( Horror, Westerns )Teen flicks ( Breakfast Club, Teenwolf, Mischief, etc)
Hey dude great review you missed planes trains and automobiles so i guess i still have the world-record of contiguous views of that movie i literally no lies watched it 300x times
Great stuff, I'm an 80's kid and can quote every one of those movies. I also love"The Monster Squad", "Super Fuzz" starring Terrance Hill and Ernest Borgnine, "Night Shift" with Henry Winkler and Micheal Keaton and "Secret Admirer" with C. Thomas Howell and Kelly Preston.
Would be hard for John Hughes to do anything he's dead, planes trains and automobiles should have been on the list, but I do like just one of the guys I haven't seen that in years!!!
you forgot spaceballs and planes trains and automobiles. some movies you show in the monologues you do i have. i give a big thanks because of you i have a huge dvd collection in my room. some of them i got because of the movies show in the updates and im like hmmmm i might wanna get this movie so thank you shaun. your like my role model. i have over 300 movies in my room and 4 movie posters in my room. b.t.w. i think ur a very nice guy. seem all nice and stuff.
I think u shud redo this one. and do different movies. here's the suggestions 1. SpaceBalls 2. Planes Trains & Automobiles 3. both of the Ghost Busters Movies 4. Ferris Bueller's Day Off then u shud do ur favorite action movies i wud be interested to see what action movies u like. Action and Comedies are my top 2 favorite Movie genre
Armed and Dangerous is my favourite John Candy movie....one movie im surprised you didnt have is the Chevy Chase movie Fletch or Spies Like Us....i pretty much love anything John Candy, Eugene Levy, Martin Short, Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray and Rick Moranis
You should have put "Real Genius" in there. That has always been one of my favorite '80s movies. You've probably seen it, but if you haven't, you definitely need to check it out.
Beetlejuice, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Planes, Trains, and Automobiles, Caddyshack, Ghostbusters, Howard the Duck. How could you forget these? Eh, maybe he forgot to take them off the shelf.
