- Опубликовано: 23 окт 2017
- As a native Chicagoan living in NYC, Sean Evans hears a lot of trash talk about pizza. In a town dominated by thin, Neapolitan-style slices, the argument is usually the same: "Deep-dish isn't pizza, it's lasagna!" Well, today Sean fires back at the haters. Joined by Queens rapper and F*ck, That's Delicious co-star Meyhem Lauren, Sean weighs the merits and faults of two regional pizza powerhouses. Which pie reigns supreme? Watch Sean and Meyhem attempt to unravel one of the world's fiercest culinary debates on an all new episode of SITW.

But for real, I think we can all agree - I'm just glad pizza exists, regardless of style, to bring happiness to people in these dark times.
Dark times...what is this nigga 16th century Europe or some shit? The world has never looked more beautiful to people that allow their brains to lead the way instead of chemical reactions that make them feel a certain type of way. Free your mind your ass will follow...
Dark times yes...... Pizza makes happy. EASY. You are right sir!
Alamda Ali Balqhin there can be a variety

@@METALandRAPsucks still beautiful. I work outdoors and know nobody at risk of dying from Corona.

Pizza lovers unite no matter what city your from 🍕🍕🍕!
So glad you mentioned Chicago thin crust.
That's what alot of us eat
@@BuildinWings chicago just has more variety in pizza all together.
So, y'all prefer St. Louis style pizza?
@@redwulf1943 St. Louis and Chicago Thin are different, it is like saying Neapolitan and New York are the same.
@@maraaeria7054 I was joking but okay.
@@UR_Right24 Just that we do it the best. St Louis has a better baseball team, a better hockey team, and a better pizza than chicago.
I can eat a large NY style pizza by myself but for some reason every time I'm done with my second Chicago deep dish slice I'm ready to hit the bed.
Because it's 5 pounds of bread and cheese per slice.
That's the point
Exactly what I was thinking Chicago style fills you up better
raw sauce, no ketchup, just sauce.
LOL
😂😂
skkkrrraaa
B O O M
When da ting went quack quack quack....
I fucking love this show..
Sauce does make or break a pizza. Straight facts! 💯
The crust, the ratios, the doneness too bruh
Every factor in a pizza makes or breaks the overall taste of the pizza itself!
Yea cuz sometimes there’s almost no sauce and then it’s bland yk the sauce matters
Epic the sauce is the most important part
I say it alllll the time: no matter thin crust, or deep dish. The sauce has to be on Point, in order for it to be, a delicious pizza.
RealTalk💯
Bro I'm addicted to these videos. So glad to see how much you're coming up Sean! You deserve it brotha!
Lemme get that shit BONELESS
Adster09 lmfaoooo
I used to have an Uncle that would order two large pizzas and fold them over like a calzone and devour them
The GearShots gross
Since you said "used to" I'm assuming that eventually killed him?
Nicholas Almonte yah had to make it dark
Bandith Thach lol bro that's unhealthy as fuck. Let's be honest.
Ahead of his time. He would have had his own RUclips Channel like Epic Meal Times XD Probably XD
Sean, I admire your ability to seemingly connect to everyone you meet in an instant, love your content.
This debate can continue for life, they're both good, depending on what you're craving, and who is making it. But hell yes, the sauce is very important, just like the overall execution of it in general.
I love how he says "crushes reds on everything" I do the same thing on every slice
I never get tired of watching Sean do interviews he always caters to their personality and lets the guest always shine
Amazing interview, these guys are painting masterpieces with words.
Sick! I was waiting for this collab with daym drops!!!
Both have their strengths.
Living in Chicago, never could go wrong with a slice from Lou Malnati's, but at the same time nothing beats the $1 slices you can get in New York.
Yeah, the rankings shift depending on location and mood and timing. I'm even fine with people saying Chicago deep dish isn't pizza. It's fucking good. But I will definitely forego it for an easy slice of NY, especially since I have to order and have it sent across the country frozen. That said, gun to head, I'm in the Chicago camp. And only from Chicago. I'm suspicious about this Emmett's place offering authentic CDD.
Order it online, even frozen when shipped its still going to be the best slice you've had while living in MI.
I agree for the most part, but bruh spend an extra 1.50-2$ on a new york slice.
yeah shit $1 slices
TheName'sNick nah bro I live in Brooklyn and a slice cost 2.75 these dollar slices your mentioning is what we call "hood" slices. A hood slice has terrible sauce that comes from a big ass tomato sauce can from Costco. It taste terrible.
meanwhile dude in the background trying to catch a fly at 6:13
Love you guys. Loved this episode. Keep it up.
4:46 looks like he slept and woke up in the restaurant lol
A slice of deep dish is a MEAL, a New York slice is a snack.
lilykep that's the point, it's food on the go
lilykep haven't had a legit slice of NY pizza then, just knock offs
A pie in New York is a little fattening, a pie in Chicago is an instant heart attack. There are reasons why there are multiple slices in a pie.
Yeh, but real Chicago pizza is thin crust--best as bar food.
I love Chicago pizza!!!
"you never have to talk me into a slice" - Meyhem
probably the best guy out there to have a civilized and intuitive debate with. peace and love man.
love your show. makes my day better
No matter how fanatic both cities are about their food at least they can both agree that LA sucks.
TheDrFunkenstein lol true
TheDrFunkenstein La is the best for hamburgers tho 💯
TheDrFunkenstein
Are you serious? L.a. has some of the best and culturally diverse food scene in the world. San Diego and l.a. have the best mexican food in the world next to Mexico itself.
newthrash1221 we are talking about pizza tard
Zach Gapusan pretty sure op said "food"
All pizza matters..

caffeineadvocate he's not racist 😂😂 he is ignorant for that comment tho
LMAO you're ignorant for saying that that comment is ignorant. All pizza DOES matter

Am about to go to Chicago for my first trip to the USA from Australia, stoked to get this episode now!
one of the best quick bits, episode, etc. feeling the love on this .... I absolutely love nyc style pizza, they even knock out a vegan nyc slice back in '98 that was killer. but all that looked good, but the vibe here was incredible. ... #nyc ;p

Yeah but include richard and james
Just eat whatever the fuck you wanna eat. No need to degrade either one. Putting down Chicago style pizza doesn't make my Brooklyn pizza taste any better. My Brooklyn pizza tastes good enough, tbh.
Galactic123 what if we told you it’s not that deep
Galactic123 It's just fun to debate, no one really cares THAT much.

Yeeeeeaah, with the pepperoni hanging out
FunkyMilk Some Italians do..They really seem to get triggered over food(and not the fun kind of triggered)
NY Pizza: When I specifically want a slice of pizza.
Chicago Pizza: When I want a hearty meal, but can't really decide what I want.
As a Chicagoan I grew up on thin style Pizza. This is the greatest misconception people have. That we don't have a thin crust pizza. We have the same types of pizza Detroit and New York have. We just also happen to have the famous stuffed pizza and the deep dish that no other city has. Haters gone hate though.
Marcos Martinez Im from New York Born and Raised. We just like our style of pizza's. It all good but just a little too much sauce on the Chicago pizza. And maybe a little less for yall but it's all good. Much love to Chicago from New York, Brooklyn.
Chicago tavern cut is my favorite style by far, people in CHI get that WAY more often than deep
Haters gonna hate Chicago “pizza” because it’s nasty soggy trash.
Im from NY and REAL Chicago Pizza wins hands down!!..never had anything like it🔥🔥🔥
Rafael Perez Disgusting 🤢
If you're really hungry, Chicago deep dish.
If you aren't, NYC style.
Awaken that's the point, to get views and popularity and sales
Hell nah after one slice of Chicago Imma throw up, but a whole new York pizza is heaven
Matthew Weiler but all pizza joints in chicago dnt sell deep dish, its mostly the popular joints in the city tht can afford to use all that dough.
Or..... if you're really hungry, have multiple NY slices... that's how we eat it here... I've rarely ever have 1 slice.
I agree. I love both for different reasons. NYC is awesome for lunch, on the go, easy bites etc. If you're ready to chow down, or its cold outside and want a fair dinner, tuck into that deep dish.
As a snack or for lunch, thin crust. For dinner, thick crust. Love both, different applications for me.
New York style reminds me of the pizza you can get at speedway gas stations around here while the Chicago style is a work of art
New York has real pizza, home of the Italian Mob. Chicago is brick thick mess...NY all day...
@@100timessquare I like Chicago style better Tavern cut and deep dish. NY style pizza is just Italian pizza of lesser quality.
I like how not many people where arguing and as a Chicagoan I feel a warm tingly feeling that I like
yo Tory Lanez relly let himself go.
I'm so glad they included Chicago thin crust.
@@sonza68 are you talking about village or nick's pizza ? Cuz it's top tier
Positive vibes all throughout the video. 👍
I like how they got to the root of the difference: “How much time do you have to eat?”
Is that my man DJ Muggs? From cypress hill legend!!
That Lou malnati shout out thoooo.
too damn expensive tho. plenty other better independently owned options out there for cheaper.
Its $20 for a large, that thing can easily feed 4 ppl
I just priced it out at my local Lou's. $27.72 for a large two topping. Pass. Home Run Inn is even more expensive. I'll stick to my local pizzerias, thanks.
Grizz say what you want Lou’s is that shit
Joey Saldana just had it sunday lol, from the original in lincolnwood, il!
Idk how to email first we feast or know if anyone will read this but it has really made me realize i love the US and when we break everything down we can all still connect on a level and there is still hope for humanity! So thanks to first we feast to meshing cultures in a very positive way
Great episode
i love both but my best pizza experience was at pizzeria uno's in the heart of chicago. that deep dish changed my life lol
That deep dish is thin, get some Lou Malnati's
Airdoo of yeah ,I agree with that statement
Lou's pizza is thinner (height) then rest of deep dish, all though Lou's sauce is not same as was before. Best pizza I've tried Gino East freshest ingredients and tastest, Nino's Pizzeria at Buffalo Grove best homemade natural sauce and good pizza and lastly Lou got best dough and bacon. I had Pequod I have to try again the sausage tasted like frozen.
Daniel Heckler Gino's, IMO, is the best compared to Uno's, Lou's, and Giordano's (the big 4 of the Chicago area, i consider). I've had fresh out of the oven at all 4 places and Gino's was arguably the best, not to mention their frozen pizza is pretty good. Obviously, the true deep dish winner is Burt's/Peqoud's, but they're on a such small scale it's hard for anyone that lives outside the city to routinely get a pie.
TheProgGuy Very true I still haven't try fresh Uno but did try frozen. I did had Pequod did like the taste but some reason the sausage seems tasted like it's been in the freezer for a long time was little dry, have to revisit again. As for Burt's place heard it about it and have to drop by some day. So it's true about Burt's have call day ahead for a deep dish?
The video didn't even make my mouth water but your comment did.
Thank you guys so much for 13 million subscribers!!! I released a new limited time collectible coin to celebrate at www.dream.shop :)) First collectible coin!
Oh man, the LEGENDARY DJ Muggs!!!
Chicago checking in! We have amazing pizza of all kinds, for all tastes. From deep dish, stuffed pizza , thin crust, wheat crust, and butter crust. There is a restaurant, Oven grinders that has the 'Pot Pie Pizza' that is to die for. I am going to make it my business to go to Oven grinders to get their fabulous pizza and salad, it's been a while. Thank you for reminding me of our gems! ♥️😋🍕🥗 chicagopizzaandovengrinder.com/menu/
Mayhem is absolutely right - it depends on what you want from your pizza at that moment. For eating on the go, the NYC is unbeatable. If you want a slice that's gonna fill you up for hours, then Chicago is the way to go. Each has a niche - and they're incredibly good at filling that niche. Of course, being a Texan, I'll be reasonable about pizza - but I'll come at you about chili. :D
Dj Muggs just chillin’ in the back lol. Classic.
Oh they brought out the B O N E L E S S pie
BeepityBoopity pies have bones?
Your brain doesn't understand jokes?^^
Terrell A'mari Fuck did he just say then?
@@horationelson1840 you say it like pizza got bone on it
"They brought out the boneless pie" LMAO
Sean flexin with that Stone Island
I love that this video is different, I see you Sean with that stone island
I think they're all good. I've had all 3 styles featured in the video and they were all excellent.
Fun fact: Chicago style pizza is 95% of the time--THIN CRUST. The whole "thick vs. thin" is a Food Channel creation.
Hi Sean, I live in the quad cities located in western Illinois, you should try quad city style pizza. It’s hella good.
Harris Pizza and Uncle Bill's Pizza...mmmmmm
I disagree
Fat Boy's in Davenport is my favorite. The last time I went, they used an even more finely-ground sausage than Harris. Mmmmm.
I have a mom and pop Chicago style and a different mom and pop NY style down the road. I agree that it depends on the mood. Love em both! Just depends what you’re feelin like at that moment.
I liked how Meyhem forced his way into the sign-off. Going through this playlist I was just thinking that he doesn't let the guest be part of the sign-off very much, then someone goes and makes it their own. Good on you, Meyhem.
Grew up on Chicago deep dish. It's a meal you sit down for with your family before a hockey game. New York style is something you eat standing up or when you're drunk @ 3am
Meyhem Lauren - Street Religion (Feat. Roc Marciano) Produced By Dj Muggs 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I like how there were sirens blaring on the background
"You never have to talk me into a slice".
i like this dude!
OH MAN. I miss that Chicago style thin pizza! :3
Where do you live
I've lived in both cities now and while NYC may have more overall food options, I think Chicago has it beat quality wise. For every good place you hit up in NYC you end up at 3 meh places. Chicago is like one banging place after another. I think Chicago just takes food way more seriously and take pride in having excellence in that arena. No shade at NYC just what i've noticed..
Paul Richter what you talkin bout bruh you live in NYC course you gonna be bias and I bet you never even been to chi.
Yea agree, ChiTown has a better quality slice on avg compared to NYC, NY pizza is more of a "on the go" snack but Chicago is a entire meal in one slice, to each their own, NY slices are overrated IMO, Detroit is where it's at.
HubbzZ TRUTH!
@@mbvlogz9375 bruh the true NY slice is the Sicilian slice. I'll take that over Chicago style any day.
Lol. I don't get why NY people are so delusional, Chicago has the better restaurants, food, and of course, pizza. You guys are bigger, and louder- be happy with that.
My favorite thing is the voice he uses when Sean sarcastically imitates people.
3:38 I live in queens so I go there sometimes. Their pizza truly is very tasty!
neither, frozen food section they call it DiGirono.
ZacharyJTa you degenerate. You even spelled DiGiorno wrong.
shows you how much i care about the great pizza debate.
ZacharyJTa better watch your back zach.
Why did you even watch the video, let alone comment? Wasting your own time! LOL!
I like Sean, he's a great personality.
Sean's making the point. You don't sit down at a table for a meal of pizza. Pizza isn't for dinner, you don't eat it with sides. The deep dish casserole you can sit down to for Sunday dinner with the family, it's not a pizza.
the only time deep dish looked appealing was in Supernatural and that was because Julian Richings was eating it in a foreboding cosmic kind of way o_o
or you can go out and eat with family and friends like normal people who go out would do. but I'm guessing you ain't got any friends to go out and eat with, either that or they just don't let you know lol
Hadn't really noticed Meyhem that much from "Fuck That's Delicious" but he actually seems pretty decent guy, would like to see more of him.
Why do I watch these before bed? So hungry...
Little Cesar's #1..... when your broke!

Shit.. with some of their jalapeno cheesy dip thats a wrap fam
If you in the Chi, you gotta hit up Home Run Inn. They don't do deep dish, but man the pizza is amazing.
If only they could collab with Taco Bell, but Yum! owns Pizza Hut instead, so...
They failed to mention beggars pizza... 🔥🔥

Ayyyyyyyyyy love mayhem Lauren. We need at hot ones episode with ma boi
From the northwest subs of Chicago and the deep dish is always amazing. Thin crust when having a party, Italian beefs and gyros for everything else
I know Chicago is known for Deep dish, but I grew up just outside Chicago and most pizza places I went to served the thinner square cut pies.
The square cut is also known as “Chicago Cut”
dj muggs is a legend
I’m going with deep dish everytime! I’m a Man with a Man Sized appetite! So carb and mozzarella load that pie for daddy!!!!
I have to agree that it depends, I wouldn't say one is better than the other.
my mouth was watering watching these slices of heaven😍
I’m from Chicago and tbh im a pizza hoe any size don’t matter Lmfaoo 😂😂😂🤷🏽♂️🍕❤️
Yooooooo Mayhem gets it, Purple Pig is the best spot in Chicago
Love this show, damn I want a pizza now
My boy Sean wearin that stone island jacket.. them complex checks are nice I see🔥🔥🔥
One thing NYC doesn't have is Pequod's.
That said, I live in Chicago and am still looking for a good NY slice :(
I gotta go Burt's Place over Pequod's. You ever try Burt's?
I don't get the over hyped love for peaqouds
try dante's.
illinoisrail - I will! Thanks, bud.
Peqoud's hype - I work 2 blocks from there and I fuck with it heavy.
Pizza Nova South side baby
NY slice is the way to do pizza espcially if ur at a hockey game or standing up u can eat it anywhere n not need a nap but ive only had deep dish pizza once.... and it was from little cesars :o
Was in NY last summer and didn’t get a chance to get NY style pizza. Excited to go back for Pizza and a Hot Dog. Gotta see how they compare to Chicago.
