AS SOON AS I REALIZED ANOTHER PERSON MADE A PMV WITH THIS SONG IN IT I WHISPERED "F*ck yeah baby!!!" My fav Jack Stauber song. I swear Jack Stauber don't make me cry about a song about milk that actually has to do with the passing of people you hold close.
Love that sequence from 0:30 to 0:42 where you've got all the creatures of the game moving in the same circle, like how they're all trapped in the repeating the cycle in the story
This animation really showcases something that I love about the Rain World base game (and gourmand's playthrough) which is that you for the most part really don't have a clear objective, so your "life" through the game is really up to you. Gourmand spoilers ahead I remember during my gourmand playthrough I spent some time in chimney canopy killing lizards and vultures to make it through to Industrial. I decided to save on extra karma just in case industrial killed me again. A lot of the time while I did this, my reputation with scavengers would wildly oscillate (i knew because i kept earning and losing Chieftain progress) which led me to imagine the scavs telling stories about the gluttonous beast that lives in the gate near Industrial. Gourmand The Rotund, i named myself. To some a hero, to others a monster, to all a legend. After a while, long after I left CC, but before i finally went to OE, i got tired of being Gourmand The Rotund, so I just started exploring, trying to get where Pebbles directed me, I had lived enough, I thought. I found the Sunken Pier, in the most harrowing way: My first shelter failure. You can't imagine what it was like to enter it, see a couple spiders running around and decide to go to the shelter right ahead of me and deal with them tomorrow, only to wake up to a _flood_ that was _going downwards_ while everything was _shaking_. I was too curious, I needed to see where the water was going, I went through every downwards pipe, until it led me to the most beautiful sight I've ever had in any videogame ever. I discovered how OE shelters work while trying to take a screenshot in what I thought was a broken gate. I wanted to show off how cool I was, and then it started closing with me inside it. It was both so cool and so terrifying, I was unsure of what would happen. In the end I arrived at JE, and seeing the slugpups telling stories of my adventures with the drawings in the wall during the ending cutscene really melted my heart. I truly was a legendary hero to them! I was gourmand the parent! Most of what made this journey so special was entirely in my head, and that's what made it so beautiful to me.
Some say, that gourmand the rotund still protects his family in the outer expanse, from lizards, vultures, and anything else. It's the adventure that matters, not what it ended with.
because the chosen visuals fit very well with the chosen song and kinda works with the story and different interactions in rainworld. Especially the "did you ever believe in yourself" while showing pebs and rot.
@@konn3787 true, rain world has suprising symbolism. Some form of depression for all characters (Or most, at least) Moon is only a tiny bit of her former self, and frogot everything she knew. Pebbles isolated himself from everyone, And blames himself for _everything_. I could talk for another hour about it.
The best part about build your own adventure types (that do it right) is that most of the action happens how you want it to, how YOU imagine it, not some choreographed boss fight (except arti) you can interact with anything you can see, and believe whatever you can't.
Exactly: like, in my monk run i was a complete pacifist, exept a couple of lizards. And my survivor run: i am also mostly a pacifist. But my artificer run? I am filled with Rage for cyan lizards (That's just personal hatred, not cannon)
Heyy that's awesome! One of my favorite rain world animations. I love the simple style and that section with all of these different creatures is very cool
what is is with animation and games that just blend to tell a story that is so much sader, happier or whatever to just make masterpeaces and make you realize the true story of art

I absolutely love Rain World. it sort of gives a vibe that's currently unmatched by anything else that exists. it's a good escape for when my depression/anxiety kicks in, and i love that about it.
i had to watch this a couple times because it was just so good.. perfect choice of music from an artist i already like and i’ll forever have strong sentiments towards this song. thank you.
This. This is the animation that will forever make me sick to my stomach. I personally have a hard time sympathizing with fictional characters as I know they aren't real. Rain World and specifically Artificer's story broke that. Because it's a thing that can happen to anyone, anyone can lose their child, anyone can just never move on from something. Anyone can stay stuck on someone even if it's destroying their life. And that problem is amplified by the fact that slugcat therapists don't fucking exist. Or maybe they do but we don't see any. It's just... ugh... Why VideoCult?! Why must you do this to us!? At least I can bask in the glory of fluff/fix-it fics and wholesome art.
Thanks, i knew that for a while already Jack Stauber has a style of his own, *sometimes* i know which songs are his just by listening to it, even if i never heard it Its just a specific voice, tone, and messaging
People in the rain world fandom keep dropping the most chair grippingly amazing stuff every three seconds I swear it’s like clockwork.
exactly! before downpour I didnt really see much content other than turtle toad, daszombes and a few others but now I see it everywhere
I was gonna come down and say this video is amazing but you did it better so I'll just leave this here 😂

Because rainworld.

Where is this song from anyways and what is it called?
Nevermind found it
It kind of makes me sad, in a good way. Such emotion portrayed in such a simple style, and the colors
It's underrated
I feel the same
i almost cryed
At least it's comforting that there's a way out, Rain Worlds premise in that of the Cycle is just so sad, not being able to die.

Tbh not even artificer is necessarily stuck with a choreographed boss fight or a specific path before you get there.
