Maaaan, Cheers form BRAZIL!!!! Duuud, You've got some skills!!!! Congrats!!!!! You got my subscription!!!!! Keep on spiring people like me to learn how to play the harmonica!!!!! See ya!!!
excellent information here! If I may add, I would encourage all beginners to use this method to practice your bends and transitions that have bends in them in this manner, it will help you perfect your bends
Hi Will. Just discovered your channel a few months back. Excellent teaching and playing. I love the sound you get on your harp. That lesson made so much sense. Keep the rythym and groove going. Colin
haahhah man, only because of how you are able to "make a song" on a single 2 draw note I believed you are the greatest player ever... then I've been watching some more of your videos and I've comprehended that actually you are reeaaaally good. I love this video as well as the others so, thanks and know that you have my suscription
That's a very clever lesson mate!Sharp as!Thank you!It must take a lot of discipline for a player like you to just sit on one note like that...I just wanted you to GO WILD DUDE...but you resisted and then gradually built it up!Most excellent lesson...:-)
This is a superb antidote to the hideous cult of the virtuoso which seems to dominate rock and blues music here in my part of Spain. Too many notes per square inch. Will kills it with one note and feeling. Thank you, brother.
Thanks Will, I will practice that. Can you put together a few short riffs for beginners that we can assemble, if you will, into an improv, or a cool blues song?
Will - l wanted to get your opinion. When improvising, as long as you play blues notes do you have to land on the root note of the underlying chord being played? 😆
wonderful , this is very helpful !!! one question please: when drawing the third of the chord down to the blue note, down to the flat three (for the blues scale), i can do it from the third to the minor third. but please, how do you start on the already bent note? to play b3 to the 3 in the chord and then the five. - like st louis blues melody. is there a trick ... or just lotsa lotsa practising ?? thanx a bunch chris
It's just a case of building up muscle memory. Practice bending draw 3 down and holding it first, then try to remember the bend mouth shape (whilst picturing the note you are aiming for in your head) and try to go straight to the bend.
Oh geez, what a great tip will, thanks a bunch! I have a question: ¿how can i improve with playing double notes? i've been trying to play Caldonia from a previous lesson, and the 3 4 draw just doesnt sound right...also the draw bends 3 4 sounds awful for me (eventhough i can bend them separately with no problems) Cheers!
Hi Will, might have a poster for your wall if you are interested, will bring it to Edinburgh, it is Pinetop Perkins, I have a whole lot of posters of different artists and interests, Jim
Well I´ve learned now How to bend Tones, came to me just like that :-) But what is that about this Overblowing the High Notes? How does that work? Is it a learneble Skill or is it like: either you can or canot do?
You can Draw Bend holes 1 to 6, and Blow Bend holes 7 to 10. With any kind of "bend" you lower the pitch of the note. Overblowing or overdrawing is a more advanced technique whereby you actually RAISE the pitch of the note- it is possible to overblow on holes 1 to 6 and overdraw on holes 7 to 10.
get down low and stay there for a year... or two. blow when you have air...draw when you don't. this allows you to stop thinking and let the 'muse' take over and let it out. don't resist. don't try thinking at all... just let it go.

I always go back to this idea, it’s such a big help when you are writing as well.
This guy is genuinely inspiring - how can anyone make playing one note sound so good?!?!?!?
Awesome. You're better than me with just the 2 and 3 draw than I am with the whole harp.
Hahaha Thanks
MK116Alex He's better with one note, than me with the whole blues scale 😆
lol!!
i think your tips are easy to understand and are very effective. great artist and great teacher!

@@robertchartrand837 no, you don't. You can land on pretty much any note in the scale. If it sounds right, it is right.
@@willharmonicawilde thank-you that's what l had hoped for. Play from the heart NOT from rules. 😝

I'm sure he's saying a tata sound
Great vid. But how do you know which notes you can add? Some will sound awful, i assume.
