LOL! What a struggle, Mark! The good news is that it didn't require a lot of tightening afterwards. : ) Just what I was looking for tonight. Thanks so much!
Thank you for all the time you take to make these videos. I have used them to better understand the structure of the Turks Head and how to expand it. This pineapple weave looks really sharp. What's the best way you've found to hide the ends? Do you tuck them under a few of the bottom strands? Is it best to tuck near the middle? I give much of my work away as gifts and I'm always concerned about them falling apart later due to weak finishing.
+BlowsTube Thank you for the kind comment! Indeed, hiding the ends is a big part of tying turk's head knots. There is no universal rule for finishing them though. Usually I will pull the ends to the other side of the knot (from bottom to top and then tighten). As you mentioned, you could also follow your standing end with your working end to the middle and cut there. As long as you tighten the knot with some strength, it will not come undone easily. Mark
Nice videos. I've used them a lot to learn some difficult knots. A question though: Is there a pattern in deciding when to go under one or under two? I'm thinking to use this knot for a wrap of about 25 cm around a walking stick.
+gedep Indeed there is. It is best to take two knots of the same type, one smaller and one larger and compare. I usually stare at the knot until I find it :). Usually it it involves splitting a parallel pair, just like in this video. Mark
Why don't you show on this, and on some of your other videos, the first part on how to start wrapping the cord to the plastic tube right from the very beginning?
You videos are great but they are not "teaching" me how to do it myself. I need to know when how where to go over or under. I found one such video for a turks head but not the "pineapple" I don't need to know how to double or triple the Turks head. It's the pineapple pattern I want to understand.
Check out Knottactical on youtube. You will come away with a better understanding of the types of knots and the different interweaves. I’ve watched and re-watched and learn something each time.
I think I love you, Marko. Your videos are great first time lessons. They're also great for refreshers. Thank you so much.

Just a suggestion. It would be useful if you could mention how much cordage these knots require

Thanks for the quick reply. I don't see it just yet, but maybe I'll just start and see how it goes.
The very best way of learning is by doing :). Just keep an eye on that pattern and you will find it!

Check out Knottactical on RUclips. You’ll understand the flow of the knots better; it becomes less of a mystery.

Read his notes, there are links to show you the base knot.

That is not a 12 bite knot.
