Great video, a chance to practice some knots and put the results to good use. Would the optimum length of cord to use be 12 inches? Hang on if you're in Toronto you'll be metric so around 30 cm? In the UK we use both: sugar is sold by the kilo but milk is usually sold by the pint.
I'm new to paracording, great video! One note: in youtube you can section these videos, so that the timestamps you note here are automatically underneath the video in the timing bar. Very simple if a beginner (like me) needs to watch a segment 50 times!
I'm 80. Some years ago, ago, after a lifetime of ropework and cordwork I had a 'neural episode' that might have benefitted from surgery had not the diagnosis (by a now abandoned doctor) been 5 years too late. The point being I was now reduced to books and YT videos to regain skills I had once taken for granted. But it did lead to one of the greatest pleasures of my life. In a supermarket cafe just before Xmas, a kid (6 or 7 years old?) was complaining to his mother that the zip toggle on his jacket was lost. I always travel with a quick release paracord bracelet. So the result - one minute later - a new toggle (simple lanyard knot - all I could think of right then) and there stood a child looking at me as though I'd just alchemised lead into gold. I like to think he's found a new hobby...
That's a great story! I think little moments like that are what life is all about, human connection. I hope you're still enjoying ropework in good health, all the best and thank you for sharing that with me!
Literally the only good lanyard knot tutorial on RUclips. I can't believe how bad the other ones are! They all make it so hard to skip and navigate through. You have it set up perfectly with the dividers and every section labeled. And the fact that you had all the different knots placed out in the beginning! A++++
@@TheWeaversofEternity I say go for it. In your letter, I'd put forward a "No destructive solution " rule. He has to "pick it" by actually unraveling the knot. Could incentivize the puzzle by putting something inside the knot, however you can.
My fave is the snake knot as a zipper pull. It’s small and easy to fit onto kids jackets. They look pretty cool! I also liked tying the Matthew Walker knot. This is THE FIRST video I watched on paracord knots, and I’m a total noob. I even just bought my first bags of paracord for these first projects. So thank you for the info!!
Nobody will probably see this post (#335), but my husband made me some awesome knitting markers with this video. So anybody who does see this, and knows a knitter, these would make a great gift. They're a lot easier on the hands than the hard plastic ones. I just finished a hooded vest using them. He used the monkey ball thingie, and the 6th one from the left at the beginning of the video, although I suppose you could use any of them, except for the fifth one from the left. That one is a bit on the bulky side to be useful in knitting. Hubs used micro, nano, and 95. 95 for needle sizes above US#10 works. Nano if your knitter likes to knit with the dinkier yarns for lace. If paracord could be said to be adorable, those markers were it!
This is an excellent tutorial! Thank you so much for putting it together so smartly. I love that you color coded each so we can skim through and find the know we want based on cord color.
I have never seen better explanation on those knots! Thank you so much for describing them so clearly! And yes, I finally understood the Monkey knot after so many unsuccessful tries... Thank you!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, Yes! You can quote me! I’m giving the 1st video out of 1000’s I’ve watched , 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars in sound fidelity, lighting, camera work, demonstration & overall high quality! It’s a RUclips standard of all teaching videos, if I was in the room I would give him a hand salute! Take a bow Weaver, you deserve it! Shalom! (incidentally,I make training videos myself)
I don't know what made me wake up yesterday and think, I'm gonna try making some paracord stuff, but I did. Then I found you guys and I'm already making stuff that doesn't look too bad. These are fun videos and informative. I'm swapping every zipper pull I find in the house, lol. There's things I found in these videos that I never thought I needed but inspiration abounds. So thanks. Wish I had found you 8 months ago. Would have sorted all that boredom quick.
I tied the cobra version for my light hike pack zippers years ago. I used Amsteel and they're still rock solid. Use some of the others with various lines on our sailboat. Great video!
Brand new to the paracord world. Glad I found this channel bc I have no idea what I’m doing. I’ve made 4 of these so far & I’m pretty happy with my zipper pulls so far. Looking forward to this. Great stress relief for me to create cool things from nothing. Enjoying the tutorials.
Every time I pick up a new pocketknife, I come back to this video so I remember how to tie a snake knot fob. This is the best instructional video I’ve found on the topic, so thank you!
I typed in macrame and your video was recommended. After binge watching your videos, I’ve now just ordered some paracord to start my first project. I must say, your videos are very relaxing to watch.
Shcuh a nice, simple, easy-to follow video. NO distracting background, soothing "you can do this" voice. (And if I can't, there is always rewind.) Thank you! :D
Mr weaver !! You’ve assisted my weaving so I’m here to share a tip to you , I have a red skin marking pen on my table always because I tattoo, and I doodle on myself for ideas, so while weaving I decided to colour in the burnt tag ends and they look really cool , so with a multi colour pack of pens and all the colours you weave ! You could have a lot of fun with this . I would suggest permanent coloured markers tho . Cheers have a great life mate !
Great video. About that cobra knot - it took me a bit to figure the proportions and what worked for me is 1:4 (4 cm of "loose tails" for each cm of the loop)
Great tutorial! I bought a bunch of paracord online and used the excess from my first bracelet and put a snake knot on my bag and it looks great. Thanks!
Brilliant!!!! Or, as you say, awesome!!!! 8 knots in 12 minutes, no messing about with needless monologue, just the necessary instruction, easy to follow, too....... in fact, + I'm happy to personally endorse the claim, it's 'idiot-proof'! Great work, well done....................

Ive came back to this video for years to reteach and show people how to tie zipper pulls, so thank you very much!
I'm glad it's been such a useful resource, thank you so much for the support! 🙏
Yeah, I was thinking to myself the other day I had to retie some zipper knots on my work crossbody bag.

You should make a big padlock knot and send it to LockPickingLawyer as a challenge!
Hahaha! That's a great idea, but I'm pretty sure he would get through that one in no time with his knife lol
I love this idea. He like puzzles,. I'm sure he would get a kick out of it. I think it's fun when RUclipsrs collaborate.
LockPickingLawyer untying knots like, "Small click out of two... Click out of three..."

He would simply cut like ceasar did
I like the Cobra Knot. It's simple and flat. Thanks for showing us how to make all these knots.

The mini monkeys fist knot is my favorite, it looks really great and I really like how a simple overhand knot works as the center.

My favourite is the Monkey Fist, great video, thanks.
The best knot tutorial on RUclips
Whenever I need a zipper pull made, I come back to this video. Years later I still rely on this video. Thanks so much for posting it!😊
It's insane how you can literally find anything on youtube! Thanks!
This cured my depression

Hold on You are not alone. There is always a spark of hope.❤️
The "Far Side" elevates the absurd. I love it, and my teenager loves it. Those cartoons were my daily dose of reality.
I tied the cobra version for my light hike pack zippers years ago. I used Amsteel and they're still rock solid.
Use some of the others with various lines on our sailboat.
Great video!
What we must always keep in mind is that the new structural model advocated here may increase the relativity of investment in technical recycling
