Searching For Monster Fish In 10,000 Islands/ Chokoloskee. Snook, Redfish and Trout Everywhere!

Glad to hear I’m not the only one. 10k is normally a disappointment for me too. I do 100X better in your normal stomping grounds. I started fishing 10K seriously about 3 years ago and we did ok then it went back to crap. Like you said part of the problem is it all looks really fishy but then you get blanked so much it kills the fun of exploring. If you find clear water you are in business, normally it’s chocolate milk and the fishing just stinks. For what it’s worth I do much at low tide over there. Once the tide comes up the fish get so far under the trees they are impossible to reach.

Man 3 years or so ago me and brian had an insane day chasing schools of big reds off pavilion island flat but ever since then its hit or miss, mostly miss 😅

Problem down there is there is so much territory that could hold fish. Impossible to cover even a small amount of the area if you don’t fish there a lot. I go down there once a year and fish with a guide and it’s amazing how much water he covers to get to a certain spot. It all looks fishy to me.

I live in Naples, but always go south and put in at Goodland and fish 10k islands. Fished Jackfish Island to Panther Island. Caught Trout, Mangrove Snapper, Lady Fish. Haven't hit any Reds or Snook. I've done this about 3 times over the past 3 months and have never been skunked.
