Took the plunge and just received my HM5 Pro. This phone is amazing. Switched to Nova Launcher because I wasn't feeling the original OS. I challenge anyone to go back to a GS23 Ultra or a 14 Pro after just holding this. The magic is in the display and in hand feel. Huaw er Honor is officially back. Question! Does using Nova launcher impact the refresh rate? I had the HM4 pro, and it was really choppy with Google News feed and general browsing through the app drawer. Using the Honor OS was way smoother.. but did not like the interface, so decided to trade it for a pixel 7 pro. in short: How is Nova Launcher on the HM5 Pro?
I think that way after moving on from the galaxy s23 ultra buggy to a pixel 8 pro. I absolutely love it. I don't even use my z fold 4 anymore either which is crazy to me. It's the perfect phone to me . I know all the horror stories but mine is purrfect😅
I had not much expectation about honor magic 5 but after living with it for just one week I can only say Wow. The phone is simply amazing - not just the camera but also display, battery, storage etc...
I sold my Google Pixel 7 Pro because it had poor battery life, overheated, and had a network problem. So now I have the Magic 5 Pro which has an excellent screen, camera battery, and has no heating issues.

I have to say it's priced really really well here in the UK, at launch it was for sale for 849 pounds for the 512GB version and came with like 500 pounds worth of freebies. Its just way too soon for me to upgrade my s22 ultra (which i paid 400 pounds more for 😢)

Man I absolutely LOVE my P30 Pro but the battery is no longer what it was after almost 4 yeats... looks like the Magic 5 Pro might be a worthwhile replacement!
The only comment I can add to the reviews is: I wish camera had more features as my beloved Huawei p30 pro had. It's not much for some people, but I used many of them often enough to get well... disappointed when I checked "more" in camera settings. I don't care much about stickers, but light painting and slo-mo x32 was excellent addition to the cam! Otherwise this phone is great. I had to buy a special case to cover camera lenses. Something that is not for everyone.

Honor go all in with the 2nd best "all around" cameras (the ultrawide probably the best out there) , with one of the top 3 display on the market, high chip, high battery life and many other and the people still talking about S23 and Iphones which cant offer such things with 300-600 more euros. Every person who respect his wallet and himself, should support such a phone out there and ignore the famous "dont care for customers" brands

Probably a matter of taste, but coming from OxygenOS, to me MagicOS is mostly a step down. I get random device locks (lock screen kicks in), a fair share of bloatware (okay) and HONOR OS-integrated crapware (not okay) like H. SHARE, H. CONNECT, H. ID, YOYO, none of which add functionality or can be hidden 🤢 to make matters worse, the Magic5 Pro for some reason has raised little to no interest in the XDA community (despite superb hardware) so little rooting/ROM support so far :/
I was thinking about the same three phones. Just received the honor a week ago but thinking about returning it. There is nothing really wrong with it but the software just feels outdated and nit sophisticated enough. Also the camera can be great but its messing things up a lot of the time too. The camera app feels empty too without much to play with. Im probably going for the samsung although on paper the xiaomi should have a better camera, except for the 10x zoom ofcourse

I have just bought this phone Magic 5 pro, and while configuring my WhatsApp, i could not give the WhatsApp application access to internal storage. My WhatsApp backup is stored in the internal phone memory, and the issue is when opening the settings - apps- WhatsApp - permission, am not able to see the storage to permit access to WhatsApp application. Please note that this issue is for all applications not only WhatsApp. I have tried to give the access through permission manager, however storage is not one in the list.
is there a high fps mode in full hd? like 1080p 60 fps or even a 120 fps mode or are there any high fps burst modes like on my old mate 20x i think it was 240 fps at 720 for a burst of 2 sec.
I got used to the cutout pretty quick coming from S22. It's an ok tradeoff for the great face unlock. S22 mostly didn't recognize my face :) The UI is pretty light on features, might be good or bad for some people. I rather use Nova. One UI was better to use but to cluttered with features and laggy.

the camera cut out of honor magic 5 pro is a lot smaller than the camera cut out of iphone. apple should reduce the size of the cam cut out its to huge for the screen of the smaller pro version.
I just took the leap and got this phone and if you can please help get the message to Honor that there is a major issue with connectivity to the point that it is dangerous for u to use this phone if your primary use is for fx or crypto trading.. It has trouble maintaining a stable connection even in areas where other phones show strong connection.. I am just about regretting enough as have lost a bit of money just because this damn phone decided that there was no internet connection wheb all around me everyone else not using a Honor Magic 5 Pro were happily connected.. Just be warned..
I would advise everyone to stay clear of this phone. I purchased one brand new 4 weeks ago and it broke in the first 3 weeks after being in my pocket during a short rain storm. Honor are refusing to replace my device under warranty as it has traces of water inside the device. It is supposed to be IP68 waterproof rating but clearly isn't. absolute waste of almost £1,000 - go and buy a phone from a reputable organisation that doesn't cut corners in their manufacturing process.
It's 999 EUR now in the Netherlands. You get 12 GB ram and 512 GB space. Wifi 7 BT 5.2. It's f cheap compared to competition. The only minuses I see is the USB C 2.0 (why they still put that on) and weight 219 gr. Have a nice day 🍺
IMO it's only xiaomi's miui that's bad nowadays, ColorOS is good (currently using), OriginOS looks pretty nice, not had any major issues with EMUI in my experiences using it.
@@jihigh482imo chinese phones' software is mostly average, though they do have some unique and sometimes useful features that are missing on stock android Though i gotta say miui is one of the worst ones. Bugs everywhere, unpolished UIs, especially on mid to low range phones And lastly, they won't give you a lot of major updates (this is true to almost all chinese phones). Most of them will only give you 2 years of android updates, 3 if you're lucky. I wish more chinese brands would follow samsung that have promised to give 4 years of android updates

It's 999 EUR now in the Netherlands. You get 12 GB ram and 512 GB space. Wifi 7 BT 5.2. It's f cheap compared to competition. The only minuses I see is the USB C 2.0 (why they still put that on) and weight 219 gr. Have a nice day 🍺

IMO it's only xiaomi's miui that's bad nowadays, ColorOS is good (currently using), OriginOS looks pretty nice, not had any major issues with EMUI in my experiences using it.

@@jihigh482imo chinese phones' software is mostly average, though they do have some unique and sometimes useful features that are missing on stock android
Though i gotta say miui is one of the worst ones. Bugs everywhere, unpolished UIs, especially on mid to low range phones
And lastly, they won't give you a lot of major updates (this is true to almost all chinese phones). Most of them will only give you 2 years of android updates, 3 if you're lucky. I wish more chinese brands would follow samsung that have promised to give 4 years of android updates

how you can tolerate iPhone like pill 💊 cutout in Android 😂 it sucks, i sold my 14 pro due to that large camera cutout, it hinders media & gaming consumption, honor is also not available in every country the after sales service is shit. The thermal throttling also worse in these Chinese shit.
