The fears of the marines: - The first marine feared his armor, more specifically the duty and burdens it brings and the weakness of himself. - The second marine is unknown. - The third (Metaurus) was that he had turned a boy into a monster, one that would turn to Chaos and destroy the Imperium. - Titus has no fear, when the Tzeentch Sorcerer attacks each marine their pupils dilate, Titus is the sole exception, he lets the Sorcerer into his mind so he can counter-attack. Lastly, marines do feel fear, the ideal of the Emperor states that marines will feel no fear but that's not reality, this is a solid 12,000+ years since he was around and standards have fallen since then. Even when he was in charge marines had plenty of fear, that's why chaos marines even exist, hell even Primarchs don't live up to those lofty ideals so expecting that from your average marine is crazy.
What could a soul like that be capable of... When serving the archenemy. That is also the fear of Leandros and reason why he can't let go in his vigil. It's not about him being right, but if he can afford to admit being wrong. Someone who proves more an unshaken hero with each victory, one who makes friends in the upper echelons is both a great asset, but also a greater threat. Tis why I think the beef between those two astartes is a great piece of writing, if it is what I assume it is.
@@Galejro Leandros is just a petty zealot, his entire character revolves around pure unthinking adherence to doctrine at the cost of actually serving the Emperor. In the first game he reported Titus for not just touching Chaos unharmed but for breaking the Codex multiple times. He also doesn't believe in the hierarchy of a chapter, hence him skipping over the Chapter Master and the Chaplain to instead report Titus directly to the Inquisition. Leandros hates Titus not because of what he could become but because he's everything that he himself isn't. Titus is loved by the Emperor, he stands toe to toe with titans of the Imperium, and he brings glory to the Emperor's ambitions by proving the system works. Leandros is a paranoid creep so lost in blind devotion to figments and fallacies that he cannot fathom someone like Titus exists so he tries to tear him down. Despite the fact that the Emperor has even spoken to Titus directly.
When he was taken out of the armor, his body looked like a dried and twisted anchovy. The fact that I was only a human once I took off my armor may have been scary.

All would have lived if Titus was first.
Then they probably would have leandros'd his ass for being immune to the deamon.
Seeing what's actually hidden in the darkness in this vid...I have now increased my respects for the animators for all the details they put in here.
John Titus
What was the personal fear of the first Space Marine whose head was crushed?
Fear of Inadequacy and weakness.
i've heard that his fear was that without his armor he is nothing
I don’t think he was totally coping with the experience in general. With this new and unexpected oily scenario. It was uncomfortable for him
@ifedhimspaghetti Oily? Oily scenario?

I am literally space king.
