Titus isn't incorruptible, he's just incredibly unlikely to be corrupted and especially not by some base daemon. Incorruptible really only applies to a few subsets in the Imperium, blanks like the Sisters of Silence, and then of course the Custodes. Makes characters like Titus and the Grey Knights a bit cooler because they can absolutely be corrupted but their faith in the Emperor and their minds are so strong it just doesn't happen.

He feared how terrifying a chaos Titus would be.

What could a soul like that be capable of... When serving the archenemy. That is also the fear of Leandros and reason why he can't let go in his vigil. It's not about him being right, but if he can afford to admit being wrong. Someone who proves more an unshaken hero with each victory, one who makes friends in the upper echelons is both a great asset, but also a greater threat. Tis why I think the beef between those two astartes is a great piece of writing, if it is what I assume it is.

@@Galejro Leandros is just a petty zealot, his entire character revolves around pure unthinking adherence to doctrine at the cost of actually serving the Emperor. In the first game he reported Titus for not just touching Chaos unharmed but for breaking the Codex multiple times. He also doesn't believe in the hierarchy of a chapter, hence him skipping over the Chapter Master and the Chaplain to instead report Titus directly to the Inquisition. Leandros hates Titus not because of what he could become but because he's everything that he himself isn't. Titus is loved by the Emperor, he stands toe to toe with titans of the Imperium, and he brings glory to the Emperor's ambitions by proving the system works. Leandros is a paranoid creep so lost in blind devotion to figments and fallacies that he cannot fathom someone like Titus exists so he tries to tear him down. Despite the fact that the Emperor has even spoken to Titus directly.

Then they probably would have leandros'd his ass for being immune to the deamon.
