Everyone speculating if Titus is a blank or a psyker when this just proves he's just built different

Why hello
He's kind of a blank. The first videogame... No spoilers but only a blank could do that.
Hi Justin. Cool to see you're still around.
@@andresgarciacastro1783 Nope. Even the 2nd game's devs have confirmed that it really is JUST his faith, determination and lack of fear that let him do that, and every other feat of surviving Chaos. Man really is just built different

@@rogacz962
Demon: Do you have any fear?
Titus: Go fish.
*At that moment, the daemon felt true fear*
A key part of the daemon entering Titus’ mind that I haven’t seen discussed is that he KNEW the daemon was poking around in his head while the other Marines didn’t.
Whatever trauma Titus survived in his youth, it unleashed a kind of single-minded conviction and rage that is anathema to the corruption of the warp. Titus doesn’t just hate chaos or has a soul that’s not affected by it, his mind is hard wired to attack it like an immune system responds to a virus. That angry child noticed the daemon in his mind, then Titus responded appropriately.
Titus basically still "child soldier" at heart. Pure devotion to exterminate chaos
@@hafirenggayuda as it should be
So basically, he's a more experienced, gigantic version of a Spartan II 🙂
Titus basically is just Future Goblin Slayer
Pure unfiltered Hatred towards whatever caused him his Trauma
@brendankelly2653 no, the Spartan II is the smaller, less experienced version of a space marine.
The Daemon not catching on that Mataurus is afraid of the Ultramarine next to him because of how built different he is, will never not be funny
When you put it that way it does sound significantly more hilarious
The Sorrcer probably knew but went "I can take him" just to flex
i think it might be the opposite, mataurus is likely alive because the daemon realized his relationship with titus
hence the daemon rushing over to titus before finishing mataurus off (notice he isn't gushing blood from every orifice)
@@stripey566 I notice one of the brothers died getting his head crushed, I don't know about the other one though after the first one dead.
Metaurus*
When you really take a close look at Titus into Metaurus mind you can see that his biggest fear is not Titus but that the child he chose would turn to Chaos as seen with the skulls growing on his armor. His greatest fear is that Titus rage get him lost. Truly the father figure of Demetrian.
And in titus mind to the Daemon Horror that child stay true, sequence of titus being child neotype, scout to fully armoured battle brother ready to stabs him in the face.
Even he was a bit of a doubter and that nearly killed Metaurus. Titus does not deserve that, he is loyalty incarnate.
@FFVogter.-em6zz and we left to wonder how Titus got recruited, metaurus found him wounded with astrates knife which looks like heavy broadsword in child hand, I assume Titus wasn't natives of ultramar but survivor of chaos incursion.
There is no devotion as strong as titus has to the imperium
@@aldusty3959the Black Templar would like a word or 2 about that...

"wait this guys greatest fear is the dude standing behind him? thats wierd wonder why that.. AAAHAAAAA WHAT IN HORUS NAME?" -Daemon probably
"I chose a child filled with pain and rage. A child who had never known fear. What could a soul like that be capable of?".
Metaurus fears that ultimately, Titus rage-filled and painful past coupled with his fearlessness might cause him to fall to Chaos. As the demon enters Metaurus' mind, we see Titus transforming from boy to Ultramarine and then we see Chaos finery/livery starting to grow on his armor. It is only when Titus defeats the demon, hauls off Metaurus' wounded body and Titus refuses to yield that their "duty is done" despite the oncoming overwhelming forces with the incoming orbital strike does Metaurus finally realize and see the flip-side of Titus' single-mindedness and dedication - "What could a soul like that be capable of?" in service to the Emperor and the greater Imperium.
@@Random-Stranger fuck do i need more content 😭 shits too good
Even in the mindscape, the demon knows something is not right with Titus.
The daemon flinched, and it was like:"I really fucked up this time"
I think Demons using chaos inside the minds of people is similar to how we perceive evil entering our lives from within.
There has to be something there.
Otherwise….Demons end up finding UltraMarines like Titus.
It entered the squads minds and souls.
I don’t think it was a coincidence that it shows us Titus walking away from the demonic presence within.
It’s like he really didn’t expect anything to see him as he sees himself.
But. It’s a demon. It doesn’t belong there. So Titus fucking killed it.
Daemon: Oh... I'm down right fucked, aren't I?
Titus: Right in the down under...
I have a theory that Titus may possibly be a Blank, albeit a very small one, just enough to give him some chaos resistance and slightly difficult to trust for weaker minds

*Titus literally being the embodiment of incorruptibility and absolute hatred for chaos:*
*Leandros:* "But know this, Titus: the stain of suspicion never completely fades. I will be watching you. Should you falter on the path for even a moment, I will show no mercy."
The same can be said towards Leandros as well.
That applies more to Leandros than to anybody else.
Leandros is not wrong lol, and that’s Chaplain’s entire duty, of rooting out corruption within the rank of their Chapter, so it would make sense that he would be suspicious of Titus the most.
Explain to me, how an Astartes that is not a blank, not a Psyker and has never been one, never showed any sign of being neither, can whistand not just a warp sorcery but an artifact and a power source of a warp sorcery, then came out of it unscathed and untainted, then proceed to do it again the second time. Explain how Titus can do that, without factoring in Psyker and Blank into the equation. How? Other than that he is an agent of Chaos? Which is the simplest and most frequent reason for an Astartes being capable of using and whistanding warp sorcery. He’s not a living saint or an Emperor’s daemon (angel) either because those things are perpetual and they come from the warp itself, he’s just a dude. So how? Exactly? He just lack a fear? So that’s it? That doesnt explain anything. If a literal Primarch can get corrupted, 9 of them in fact, then an Astartes is NOT an exception, in fact, Astartes regularly get tainted and corrupted by Chaos, Azariah Kyras is one example. It don’t take much to corrupt a space marine, Astral Claws were zealously loyal to the Imperium once until they get shat on by the very thing they were protecting, and they get tainted just like that, so it’s not in the realm of impossibility for an Astartes such as Titus to be corrupted too, so the suspicion was justified.
@@Tiku- Finally, a voice of reason. I Think that people hating Leandros don't fully understand what Warp gods and their minions are capable of. They corrupted half of emperor's Primarchs - the pinnacle of gene tech. They continue to corrupt even the most dedicated astartes so of course there must be vigilance to absurd levels. If i remember correctly the corruption of Iax started with just 1 Nurgle fly getting passed quarantine. So yeah, of course Leandros will be a hardass. Better to be vigilant, than to be super dead.
@@aleksejsmiscuks4138also some say that Leandros sent Titus on this mission to kill him. But I suspect that after seeing what Titus was capable of, Leandros probably think "you know what, putting him in might turn this mission from 'impossible' to 'improbably'".
Huh,i just noticed something, whenever the demon goes inside the minds of metaurus and the other bladeguard their pupils dilate, but not titus',just goes to show titus really is built different
+ the fact that the Emperor literally protects him
+ Warp Resistance
I was hoping someone else would notice that. I saw that when i first watched it. It ridiculous how "built different" titus is.

@@parthparulekar3269 At 2:00,you only see the demon in the center of his eye everything around is still his blue iris where as the others are almost fully dilated

At this point he has almost singlehandedly killed:
-An ork warboss, leading an entire WAAAGH!!!
-A chaos space marine sorcerer
-A Lord of Change
-A thousand sons exalted sorcerer
-An extremely powerful daemon prince of Tzeentch
-Several carnifexes, neurothropes, and lictors
And we havent even seen any of his 100 years of deathwatch service, or anything prior to space marine 1. This dude is a one man army.
now you mention that, any chance that Titus would return as a Captain in the future?
i’d love to see him as Chapter Champ.
I hope Space Marine 3 is Titus being granted the honor of founding his own Ultramarine successor chapter.
@@zarelg7734Forget captain, there was talk about making him CM of his own chapter! (Back in the day before SM2 that is)
Still nothing on Malum Caedo
Titus was supposed to be a disposable escort for the Psyker but ran ahead of the bladeguard to fight that tank and then mindfucked a demon. Absolute beast.
No Astartes, least of all a former company Captain and veiled with the laurels of victory, is fucking disposable. Check your fucking mouth.
I don't think they sent him as a disposable escort, Calgar probably sent him because he knew he could do it
None of them are sent as disposable. It is highly sensitive mission that the group are expected to complete and return.
@@sys3248 Wrong. The mortality estimation of the mission was "Absolute". They're all expected to die there. But yeah, none of them are disposable. They're Bladeguard, elites among elites, it's just the mission is just that F##ed up
Not well versed in the lore, but I do remember when they were sent out, a mission descriptor was “mortality: Absolute” The fact that they dropped orbital bombs on their heads after they find the place seems to confirm that, alongside how the injured marine just seemed to say “job done, time to die” afterwards.
Were they supposed to return, I would suspect they would have an extraction ship before the bombs first of all, and I would also assume the injured marine wouldn’t call it quits, because he would still have a job to do if that were the case.
"He- He survived that?! An absolute mortality mission?! Another chaos sorcerer that even killed Bladeguards?! This heretic... the codex does not approved of this!"
- Leandros in the corner of the room
Calgar: Leandros, in the name of our primarch, shut up
The Daemon utilized the Astartes fears against them. (yes they have fears, just different to ours.) The Space Marine's pupils dilated due to a fear response. Titus had no Fear and no hesitation. The Daemon couldn't enter through the dilated pupil of Titus, so it had to force entry.
I love that the first Marines greatest fear is having to die at the hands of an Astartes, as a regular human. Hes afraid of being any one of the countless enemies he slaughtered right outside this temple. Lol
@@GoofysBandit Seeing as he ripped himself out of his own armor, I kinda think it represents how he views his humanity, or his own body, as weakness that needs to be feared, and crushed.

@@razorxlvii4852 I think it may also represent his fear of not being good enough and doubting himself in his capabilities, it's the literal image of not living up to the thing you're picked for, so he gets crushed by it.

Dumb daemon saw Titus turning to Chaos in the other marine's mind and thought "that guy will be easy!". Rookie mistake.
Titus just built different, dude fears nothing. He’s daredevil. Man with no fear.
Another one of my favorite tropes, or whatever the word is for it, is whenever a psychic is humbled by someone with an iron, absolute will.
Reminds me of a story about a character in a D&D game. Long story short, they were a changeling that kept adding layers to their disguise, like a russian nesting doll made out of a medieval James Bond's closet, and when they had their mind read by an Illithid it basically got mentally flashbanged and screamed "WHAT ARE YOU?!?!?!"
You cant see it here but the first blueberry extracted a weak human from his armor then crushed it, he was either afraid his astartes elevation would crush his humanity or that his human weakness would do him in, since we saw metaurus stabbing titus but getting screwd we can assume that the first astartes was afraid of his human weakness that remained thus he crushed it i love that scene ive seen variations of those in different media and love the symbolism of it.
So he basically felt his flesh body was weakness, are we sure he’s not an Iron Hand?
@@ZeroAxle could be either the "flesh" or emotions or whatever he considered was his human weakness, as he is a blueberry im more inclined to think its the psycological part (the iron hands' inclination is more literal, they have a weird mix of grief that makes them more eager to replace their body parts with metal) what is clear is that his fear of that human part did him in.
@@alephniguroth7105where did you see that scene?
Young Titus be like: I SEE YOU DEMON!2:06
titus´s pupil is the only one that doesn´t dilate when his mind gets entered
Best portrayal of a mental battle ever done in cinema.
I love the fact that the veteran, despite being much stronger, developed a weakness: fearing his own student. His student is so perfect that it would be terrifying if he ever turned against the empire
the way the first SM died was fucking brutal holy shit. My dad and I watched this last night and he was shocked.
But then Titus, fucking Titus the GOAT. This was such an awesome episode.
I love the detail that Titus‘s eyes don’t dilate. He doesn’t give two flying fucks.
The daemons eyes open up loud and suddenly like multiple safe doors bursting open, like the gate to its soul is opening and that its a well guarded thing. But the ultramarines open up quietly and smoothly, like theyre being slithered into while the daemon invades their minds.
Except Titus, whose eyes burst open like the daemons do. His soul is just as well guarded as the daemons, possibly even better guarded, but that didn't matter for either one of them. The snake didnt slither or bash its way through, those doors opened willingly, and Titus said it was on SIGHT the moment it got close. I wouldnt even be surprised if it was a trap, since the daemon getting that close is what lead to time being unfroze momentarily while it was shocked in his mind.
I agree, I think the fact that Titus decides to dual wield melee weapons rather than one melee and his bolt pistol, lends credence to the idea that he was setting up a trap.
This reminds me of one time when a xenos tried to enter Lion's mind. She thought she was a god in there, but she was wrong. She entered the mind of a primarch willingly, and that arrogance was enough to make her lost.
Time didn't unfroze temporarily.
Titus broke the sorcerer's staff in real life. His will is so strong that he turned the sorcerer's "your mind makes it real" against the sorcerer.
That jump height is INSANE. It's pretty damn dark in there and the reference point from his jump is slightly obscured since the camera is tracking the jump as it's happening. However it appears his jump height is almost double his height from a standing position also noting that He landed before the demons corpse....Titus is ice cold.
*muffled noises* My beloved says that I shouldnt be in this box!
Something happened in Titus's childhood that really fucked him up badly. That chainsword he always holds as a boy didn’t initially belong to him.
Amd now as a Astartes, he has such an unwavering conviction to fight for the Imperium that no warp daemon or ruinous power can throw him off. That's something that only the Adaptus Custodes can do, and not even half the Primarchs could.
Damn, he's basically the 40K version of Goblin Slayer.
It wasn't a chainsword, it's just a Space Marine combat knife.
He was so small that a knife is the size of a sword.
Also remember, in a setting where Space Marine are generally revered as angels, Titus first reaction on seeing one is to tell one to get out of the way so he can kill more xenos.
Sorcerer: You chose a child... a child who had never known fear...
Also Ssorcerer when that child does not know fear: *surprised pikachu face*
Notice how INSTANT the daemon basically "activated" and how fast the Marines knew they had to act (even if they ended up being too slow). That's exactly how strong this kind of corruption/psychic power is in 40k. Which Syama illustrated in Astartes as well.

He would've died before reaching the sorc demon.
I really love how, in Titus's mind, as he approaches the sorcerer, there's a clear growth stage between becoming a fully grown Astartes and being a fully grown and ARMORED Astartes. He goes from a giant Herculean adonis into a post-human tool of war. Clad in great armor, indeed.

When they used veteran blade guards
With hundred years of battle experience. Just to one hit by low rank daemon.
When they can relay it to grey knights and without casualty.
Ultramarines already know the existence of grey knights lmao.
There are only so many Grey Knights available to deploy. Their typically reserved for the "Daemonic portal opens up on a vital strategic world" type scenario or when someone like Angron or Mortarion is spotted in realspace. Also, Calgar and some higher ups know they exist, but that doesn't mean their gonna call them everytime there is a Daemon around. They do have pride. Plus, SM go up against Daemons all the time.
@@EdlderoftheNightthis was a gaunt summoner homie, if they’re anything like their AOS counterparts this is quite literally one of the single most powerful demonic entities in the setting, they’re single-handedly responsible for connecting the warp to real space, which is presumably what that tower was, a tether. Titus is the 10’000 years worth of concentrated wrath and hatred for the wrap. Do not fear the enemy, hate it, learn to naturally loath its very existence and you will never ever hesitate in striking it down.
This episode, as awesome and badass as it was. Felt like it made a good father's day episode. Metaurus had the energy of a dad worried his son might choose the wrong path and worried for his future, which is cute to me
AND EVEN SO, HE ONLY GETS 3 MAN TO HELP HIM.... AGAIN.... "Captain Acheran's Manpower Problem" IS NOT JUST MEME
“The fear of your brothers was most exquisite. To peer into their minds and see what unmakes all of their training and devotion is quite remarkable… but that one…
Has never known the sensation of fear… and it has been replaced entirely. By righteous fury to their emperor”
I’d say that Victim #1’s fear was the weakness of his own humanity.
He believed that he would only be protected for as long as he kept his armor and weaponry.
Titus, on the other hand, really believed that he could fight a daemon as a child.
I feel like it goes beyond that. "Believe" implies that he thinks he can, so there's an undertone that he has a fear of losing that belief.
His mental state felt more like he doesn't care if he can take on a daemon, he doesn't care if he can win, his first and only instinct was "I'm going to kill it."
"Maybe the horror is beyond comprehension, but not beyond these hands"
I need both Titus and Malum Caedo to do a team-up at some point soon. Two of the absolute most CHAD Space Marines in recent memory.
It would be cool to see anything related to slaanesh. Other than total war I don't think she's shown up in any media
Slaanesh is everywhere. She has been butchering video games and all entertainment media.
While strictly speaking it isn't of sex, the generally lewd focus inhibits marketability to wider audiences.
Which is dumb, because that's no worse than watching people get eviscerated, but dipshits gotta dipshit
