    Tunnbrödsrulle is a Swedish fast food dating back to the 50s or 60s, when the Swedish fast food chain of restaurants held a contest for people to present their personal recipes for a fast food. Tunnbröd is a traditional flatbread from the north of Sweden, so it’s not exactly a tortilla, since it is slightly seasoned. It’s a classic drunk food, very messy and impossible to eat with dignity.

    For the maximum Swedish version you go tunnbrödsrulle with some räksallad in there, also you need to drink Pucko to make it real authentic and rural Swedish. Another tip to fine-dining Swedish style is to order a "Grillad Special", that´s a hot pan grilled hot dog in a bun with mashed potatoes on top. Add some pickled cucumber on top of that and you really should be starting to speak Swedish by now. Also called Raggarballe with Svängdörr if you ever visit the naked land of family sauna.

The pronunciation was a bit muddled so maybe others heard something other than "bröst" in that part - so I thought I better comment to check. The translation was just for English speakers who might read the comment and wonder how the difference in pronunciation/spelling effects the meaning. :D

      Well don't expect it to be HOT here.. we do get pretty warm summers but it always feels so short. I do like the four seasons, that way you appreciate the warm and spring.. if you like snow, then that's fun too.. healthcare and education are great and you do feel pretty secure here. It's a great country to live in!

    • @Gaaraape
      @Gaaraape 10 лет назад +1

      SpacedTime I don't live in Finland but in Sweden, which is similiar enough I guess. This is what I have to say: If you move there, you will eventually forget what the sun looks like. During autumn and winter it's dark almost the entire day. The lack of sun in this region is so evident that from late winter and early spring and on whenever a speck of sunlight finds its way through to the ground people will flock in hordes to that spot ( no matter the location or spot) to sunbathe and just take in as much of the sun as possible before it dissappears again in a glimpse. It really does look comical!

    Originally, the bread that is used to make a "tunnbrödsrulle" isn't a tortilla. It's called "tunnbröd" and is slightly thicker and tastes much better.

  • @Greksallad

    While definitely doable and probably quite tasty, tunnbrödsrulle is generally not served on a tortilla. Traditionally you would use tunnbröd (literally thin bread) which is a traditional Swedish bread that works great with all sorts of toppings.

    Men sanningen är,
    Sauna is really a finnish thing. No surprise sauna is also a finnish word.
    Swedes do a kind of mix of steamroom and sauna.
    When finns heat it and throw the steamwater in their common way, 20% of the finnish bathers move downwards to minimize heat. The equivalent of swedes would be 50% moving down, 10% staying on the toplevel (where it´s the hottest) and 40% swedes leaving the sauna. Even the way swedes build the sauna with diffrent and often smaller saunaoven shows the difference.
    Often it´s 60+ celsius degrees(Sweden) versus the 80+ celsius (Finland)
    The saunabathing worldchampionship has been organised in Finland. A russian died in it. Just as a curiosity fact.
