Gregg Alexander never left music.. He's continued to write a huge swatch of music for other artists and movies alike... He recently wrote most of the songs for a movie called Begin Again which has some top tier lyrics... love the movie, love the songs but the lyrics are meaningful and touching... worth checking out

I heard the main thing was he just hated touring and felt exhausted all the time which is understandable. Travel, interviews and shows can just zap the energy right out of you.

I always wonder what would have this song be if Gregg Alexander released the song for New Radicals or Santana where would this song be? I heard stuff that Game of Love was technically made in 1998-1999 and originally for a then rumored 2nd album for New Radicals. My take is that Michelle Branch would only be known for songs she own in the Spirit Room and Hotel Paper.

      ruclips.net/video/3qv9YJ441Tc/видео.html
I am not so sure what was the process for that song to have rights to be rewritten in Japan though given that when the New Radicals written the song it was meant for their now cancelled 2nd album. I knew after that then Santana's label got the rights to that song initially for Tina Turner prior to Michelle Branch being called in as an alternate singer by Santana's crew. The Japanese edition of the Game of Love went on as a soundtrack for an Anime show in 2004.

Gregg Alexander is one of those shooting-stars-you-can't-catch. His New Radicals album was a joy and a "tease" of things to come -- and then we had a very cool magical music rug ripped out from under our feet! What a shame for us that he didn't care for performing (if that was the real story) ... but a person has to do what he is happiest doing.

It's a shame and our loss...but he also has the right to "hide" - the media can be sooo envasive and it takes a strong, not so private person, to deal w/that. This is one of my favorite songs of all time ... I have it on EVERY playlist I own. I didn’t know the genius of The Young Radicals wrote it, but now that I know - it SO makes sense. I also have “you get what you give” is on all my playlists too. PLEASE WRITE MORE Mr. Alexander ... you are brilliant!

God dang! He's in the background of some of my favorite songs of all time and I had no idea it was the same guy behind "Get What You Give", but it makes so much sense. Listen to the chord progressions on this song and the vocals and hot damn if that's not in the same galaxy as Get What you Give.

Dear greg, Come back already. I don't know what these music industry guys did to you but while punishing them, you also
punish your fans. Every gd song on that album is classic. 'Hope" is the most surreal richly layered song I have ever heard
and contains so much content it could be a mini series. When you decide to re engage just know that you have a legion of fans who are chomping at the bit.

I dont think anyone is punishing him. he's been this way since his peak on New Radicals. he doesn't want that fame, but still making insanely good song every now and then.

I knew the same dude you only get what you give did this song. You can hear the originality. This dude orchestrated our 2000's and disguised himself for the 2010's.

This guy is his generation’s version of the late, great Paul Davis, stays grounded, but writes songs that everybody loves. Mad hooks here, and yes, very Hall and Oates influenced. Gooooood stuff here.
