Not initially as you say, but over time Sweden's neutrality allowed them to accept hundreds of thousands of refugees from Norway, Denmark, and Finland, including more than 60,000 jews which would most certainly have perished otherwise.
One encouraging item just mentioned is that as an 'invitee' to join NATO, Sweden is more actively coordinating with NATO, adopting NATO standards, etc. So, even with the delays imposed by Turkey (now, officially called 'Turkiye', and pronounced with an extra syllable), it is not the case that progress has been halted.

For the most part I agree. Except the last question asked was "what consequences would China face ...". His response was (paraphrasing) "there will be consequences".

That way China has to calculate the risks of triggering those consequences in a way that accounts for uncertainty. And realistically countries rarely love to "gamble", so therefore if you signal there will be s response on an intensity between "5-8" on a "1-10" scale, this is actually a greater deterrent than just saying "6".
Secondly if you don't tell exactly what you'll do, it's much harder to prepare in advance.
Thirdly... and yeah, this is what is the most obvious, leaves the West with room for manoeuvre. After all, you can "deliver weapons" on her different levels, and our strength of reaction will also depend on a whole lot of other factors and diplomatic realities.

facts are facts .. it's easy to reply quickly and honestly. No questions asked here have answers that any normal persion who follows history could answer much differntly with the same questions.

It's a common practice in expert field interviews to receive the questions beforehand. Not that it's a bad thing by any means, generally more well thought answers and less miscommunication.
