As a professional Black woman living on the outskirts of Houston, I love it here. Please don’t be distracted by this kind of behavior. Houston is THAT city for so many positive reasons. There are different classes of Black people EVERYWHERE. I’ve lived in Nebraska (where 5.4% of the population is Black or AA) and experienced ghetto-ratchet-hood behavior. There is no escaping it lol. It’s about how you carry yourself, the people you surround yourself with and the places you choose to go.

It’s not the ATL ppl though the Houston hood 🐀 of both sexes, have been known to break in cars, steal, and snatch up women for a while. I’m talking in 2012, but I will say it’s getting worse though.. The housewives reality shows and female rappers have become the model for black women. The nails, makeup, lashes, tattoos, gaudy jewelry, edges, piercings, plastic surgeries, some of the behaviors have become an accepted part of culture. I can't imagine being in a above average restaurant were people are talking softly and enjoying their meals and she walks through the door. Or being in another country walking down the street shouting vulgarities. Black women are more than out of order, some of them have lost their mind.

I was raised in Texas. Was there from 1984-2005. I go back to see family and let me tell you after every visit..I come back very disappointed. Crime is high, some places have fallen/ dirty. The heat is unbearable and overly crowded. Traffic is a nightmare...It's changed in every way.

I'm in the Katy (suburbs outside of Houston) when I travel inside the loop, I don't run into women like this either. I also don't participate in ratchet activities. You can find this in any major city if you search hard enough. No one should based their living criteria on this. She definitely doesn't represent the women I see on a daily basis.

People move to Atlanta for the wrong reasons, they just want to party, Atlanta is an awesome business city, its a growing media market, Michelin is adding Atlanta to its review, the skyline is changing! cranes are everywhere!
People come to Atlanta with no plan and get caught in the nightlife. You're right it's a wonderful city for business oriented professionals. Houston is the same. I've done very well here and the opportunities are endless. People focus on problems and drama. Focus on creating solutions and you'll be set.

I wanted to stay in Brooklyn until I realized how much I could come up. My husband is a trucker, landed a lucrative chemical contract and we hired a second driver. Yeah that Michelin is suppose to come out soon. I was talking to some chefs about it because if you look right now Atlanta doesnt have any restaurants or 5 star restaurants on the list. Atlanta has always been about education, business, buying property, and building. However, if you were not born there you wouldnt know. Pride of being a business owner, education, and building if you come for the party life then you will be stuck there

Houston is my adopted home city. Lived there for 20+ years. The fly thing about Houston is its diversity. The women are gorgeous and they're from everywhere across the globe. You have to have lived there to know. You don't even have to come close to associating yourself to this type of female in the H. You literally have the pick of the ethnic litter in the H.
