Listening to Carolyn, makes me want to go back to Austin and listen to good "home" music again. Sure miss the different BBQ locations, Barton Springs and mini-migas at the Kerbey Lane. Thanks for the great soul Carolyn...
yep..recenlty moved back to Texas and keep coming across superb musicians 'you never heard before' that just amaze me. i've been checking her out as well as Alan Haynes lately whom I only recently discovered....she's definitly 'got it'.
Carolyn is the real deal. Her voice and her guitar playing are as good as it gets. Shne plays that thin-line Tele with brutal force. She is a genuine sweet person who is a loving soul, her live shows are spectacular when she plays the lap steel and blows some awesome trumpet as well.
For all her amazing talent, she is the most humble, kindest person you will ever meet. I had the great pleasure of directing video of her in performance twice, and she is the only person in my 42+ year career who ever caused me to dance in the truck!

Kinda like following Minor League baseball, starts before they are stars kinda thing. Except Carolyn can go full-Stevie-Ray at times, too... it's more like "If Janis had moved back to Austin in the late '70s and met Stevie Ray, had a child together - would Carolyn be their prodigy?" I think so.
she's great! i commented earlier that i liked the fact she played at the meat of the guitar in her lead and refreshing because alot of guitar players get stuck at the highest fret screaming at a high pitch too long. but she has to make that guitar scream sometimes at the highest notes where the neck goes into the body of the guitar
