This LS turbo Volvo Wagon is ruthless with its acceleration and its ability to make you want to sell your sports car and rethink everything. I used to talk to gingium some in his forza days. Ive been lurking his channel since then and have been so impressed with what hes done. Its all so interesting and hes just a genuine guy. Happy to see its all gone so well for him.

When you say it’s a turbo ls swapped 240 most people would expect a Nissan 240. But the Volvo 240 is where it’s at if you want a sleeper.

"tin can metal". Volvo used a minimum of 1mm thick steel for the body. That's pretty thick, especially for today's standards.
Yeah which in turn means every bit of metal is structural so there is no excess used. It’s just efficiency with materials.
@@rex_s80 yeah Volvo bricks and efficiency. Those things were built like a tank, they were over-built. That's why they were so safe
@@Baksteen_Express yeah you can still see some of that mindset in their later cars as well with their sips and whips. Thinking of the little things that make a big difference like using the center console as a crumple zone in size accidents. Ever wonder why later volvos have that weird notch in the lower corner of the door opening by the seat? It’s so in an accident from the side, they use strengthen beams in the seat to transfer the energy from the side and into a metal box in the center console (which is why the 90s and 2000s fwd volvos had very flimsy center consoles so the top bit where your arm was would easily break the weak plastic when the seat would move to keep you from being crushed by the on coming car) it really is brilliant how they think of everything. They made use of the seats for safety in so many extra ways and still be comfortable.
3 years ago I ran an 04 s80 with the T5 Awd set up, i had around 500hp to the wheels after the 62mm high tech turbo upgrade. Volvos are so unassuming but rather well balanced land yachts.
Caleb had great energy even when he was doing Forza videos. And it’s only gotten better. ❤️🤞

I was legit talking to my buddy yesterday about turbo Volvo he had like 20 years ago that was scary fast. RUclips is listening to our conversations. 😆
"who would call it in?" Anyone in Scandinavia? :P I have a stock one, and I basically get followed by police, even had them follow me the whole way home, as from the 70s and through the 90s, the Volvo 240 was a car usually driven wildly by people. And the engine bay fits so many other engines, so there's a few V8 ones here in Scandinavia as well, both Ford and Chevy V8s, maybe some MOPAR but they'd be rare, also 5cyl ones, I6 BMW powered ones, BMW V8, BMW V12 ones, SR20 swaps, RB25 swaps, I've even seen a rotary swap. There even was a project I lost track of and can't find anymore, where someone did similar to Gingium and his MX5, only with a 240, using Subaru AWD and an EJ20.
They've basically been the Nissan S13 of Scandinavia.

Love it. Only thing that could make it more sleeper is the standard solid light blue paint. My friend had a 245 with that color...and a group A turbo with 400+ hp! The only thing letting you on to it not being stock was that it was very, very low.

I Laughed at 2.07. That aint no fireball, I present to you MY Volvo TRI-cannon LMAO! But at 3.35 that was more my style!! Cool car, a bit off and a bit wild, just like we love em! Great video Guys, I wanted to hate on the Ls, swap, but I can not. I just prefer a Volvo mix of power plant pieces. Others Enjoy The Volvo Shell. Mad Props. They are actually made out of Virgin metals, not tin can metal. That is why it is light and strong.
GINGIUM I fell off of watching his content a while ago and didn't keep up so this is a surprise. I had no reason not to watch so I'm definitely going back to his channel, I remember when he mainly did forza content before getting big enough to afford projects and everything, nice.

something ommited from this interview- some volvo 240s from this era came with a ford 8.8 rear end as standard equipment on all trim levels. litteraly one of the best ls swap platforms. top 5 would have to be- fox body, g body, s10/ c 10, blazer, and 240 volvo.
