Reading this comic series helped solidify in my mind that the term "Dragon Age" means so much more than the fact that dragons have made a comeback in Thedas. I hope we'll get to see more lore on the connection between dragons and bloodlines and pre-Veil life in future DA games!
I honestly wonder if BioWare kinda wants us to forget about Zevran. He only is a wartable mission in Inquisition and now he didn't even make it into the comics. Every other companion gets more screentime than him, some like Alistair and Leliana are in every game. I start to believe BioWare just hates Zevran xD. Cool video as always!
He is also in a Side Quest in DA2 with the possibility of Isabella and Hawke having a fun time with Zev. So it's not that he was forgotten but that his current arc, which is a one-man war against the Crows, is not happening close by
I read through this series the other day actually, and I personally really liked that the focus was placed on a different character’s perspective in each third of the major story. It allowed for all of them to gain some development while not crowding the narrative with too many storylines at once.

I don't understand why Alistair stabbed Yavana. I mean I get that she was untrustworthy but that seemed harsh and kind of out of place for Alistair's character. I'm just going to hold out hope that she was just seriously injured and not dead. I mean if Leliana can show up for Inquisition even after being killed in Origins, a sword through the gut is nothing.
actually, Alistair never took lyrium. he explains very clearly in origins that you dont actually need lyrium for templar powers, it just makes their powers stronger, and makes learning them easier. The chantry gets the hooked on the stuff anyway to make them easier to control.
The thing that made me laugh was how Alistair were his kingly armor while out adventuring 😂 bruhh he didn't even try to blend in

I am not a big fan of comics as a medium but man I adored this series. The story is so good.
I love how this can easily take place in my personal worldstate, just probably had my warden along for the ride as he was close friends with Alistair and would make Sten's respect later a little more sensible
Random thought wouldn't Alistair's blood not work fully? I mean since warden or king his blood is still blighted so does that potentially mean that if he did the ritual would the great dragons become blighted?
And wouldn't Alistair need to continue the therin bloodline so then all of his kids would be blighted, presuming that he even can reproduce since grey wardens reproduce very rarely.

I havn't read these... so this is my first exposure... but wow. This is literatlly the reason these games are called what they are... Kind of insane that they released it in side material.... But, even more important... is that Flemeth is behind it all. Why does she want dragons back? What's her end game? And how does Solas fit into it? (as she seemingly willingly gave her power or life to Solas)?
This was a very informative video, thank you! The only thing I would wish for would be a timeline to better follow the things happening.
But what if Alistair is a drunk? BioWare should make a DLC for a King Cousland who basically takes the place of Alistair as much as possible if he's drunk, dead, or a Warden.

It does? So he becomes a Warden again after leaving with Teagan? But does he ever track down Maric? Could Maric still be alive in DA4 if Alistair is dead or simply not King?
Yup- Tegan sobers Alistair up and sends him back to the wardens. A warden Alistair in DAI mentions the events of this comic, so Maric is dead in that world state. I guess there is an argument he could be 'alive' if Alistair is dead?
if Dragons are blood of the Earth, then maybe the line "It fought back, but they made it forget." isn't about Titans, but about Dragons? Explaining why dragons were once "more"?

I hate that Alistair straight up murdered. I hate it so much.
I have wondered if all dragons were originally from shapeshifters. The shapeshifters would retain their intelligence and pass it on if they reproduced. If that is the case then maybe these highest Order would be shapeshifters like Flemmeth who have been put to sleep, maybe by Silas himself. It would then make sense that flemmeth would then task a daughter to undo the spell.
I doubt Yavana is dead. You can kill Flemeth, but not really. You can kill Morrigan, but not really. Yavana seems to know more than Morrigan so...
Not going to lie, Claudio's death and then being revived-ish scared me. I was not quite ready for that.

I think that through his mother or father, alistair is descended from a elf who could transform into a dragon like how morrigan and presumably mythal could in her prime

Kinda unrelated but Caitie mentioned SWTOR in relation to one of the writers of the comic so I guess I'm wondering if anyone would recommend SWTOR to other Bioware fans? Most people tell me it's not a completely satisfying Bioware storytelling experience but I've seen some others online say the opposite.
If your okay with older RPGs (gameplay) then you'll be fine. It is a great story if your a star wars fan, if your not then it may not be for you.
