As someone who just recently picked up his first Mosin, finding your channel has been an absolute god send! Can't thank you enough for all the hard work you're putting in!
New sub...just picked up a 1943 Izzy...was really into these years ago when I worked in a gun shop, now getting back into these old guns like Mosins and SKS's..thanks
Hi, love your videos, Lots of interesting information in them. If you don't mind, I have a suggestion: maybe create a playlist with the Markings videos? That would help I think. I have a Finnish M27 with components from all over the place. I am trying to identify it's history, and the information from this channel + websites is helping me do that. Thanks.
Thank you for making the website, I would love if you also made a book (coffee table book style) so we could have a physical copy. Thanks for the hard work you have been putting in though!
I’ve done research about my mosin but there’s a single marking I couldn’t find what it means anywhere The marking is on the barrel and it’s a single Russian letter: Ф
I've got a Finnish M39 with no tang mark but it has a R marking on the side of the receiver near the trigger pin but the R is not in a circle? Could it be a Remington mark?
Hello and thank you for your work, I'm from Italy and have gifted a 91/30 in good conditions to my wife, also I have mounted a optic on it, here it's impossible to find a Tokarev/.32ACP adapter for it, have you or our fellow viewer some advice to buy it, or at least some blueprints to make it.....I have a small mechanical business and I can make it given the drawings and metal specification...thank you
Looking at all of the history behind these rifles is highly interesting, but maybe we should all take the time to reflect on the individuals behind its history. Maybe some prayers are called for those who used them and for those who may have been injured or killed by them. There will always be a human cost to history.
ah man love the video but was wondering if you were interested in helping me out with something? since you seem to have such a extensive knowledge on Mosins. I have a Mosin I just bought recently that has a finish stock and a russian barrel and receiver (that are matching if my memory is right) however the top handguard is missing and the barrel is exposed. I can't find a lot of info on this rifle anything I can find online points to it being some kind of training rifle but some people doubt it and there isn't any proof was wondering if you wanted to take a look at it?

Same! I just picked up my first Mosin today. Now it's time to fall down the rabbit hole.
Came for the rust removing tips, stayed for perfect Mosin videos. You're doing great work, keep it up 👍👍
Consolidating the info on markings is a great service to us all. Thanks, Sam!
Nothing like a younger person taking a close look at the history of firearms!
Big Sam, thank you for all your hard work. Yours is one of my favorite pages on RUclips !
Thanks ! My first Mosin got me addicted. A 1934 I picked up at Sarco when they were $200 for your pick
Thank you for this video. I'm just getting into the mosin and this channel is the perfect source for information!

Thank you for the advice and information
Always good to see you with a new video about old school stuff Big Sam. Cheers
I have a M28/30, M39 and 91/30 hex. 3 different Trigger, Barrels and Borediameter. 😂
Hello from Germany
A friend of mine made a valuable observation: The Mosin is the Mauser of the East.
Outstanding video! I literally picked up a Finnish M27 today!
Keep it up.
Thanks Big Sam! 👍
Great coat!

Dude, you are the Mosinator… no, the MoSaminator!

Nice. I see no one has ever figured out what KO in a headstone stamp means. Molot abbreviation for hunting rifle? We'll probably never know. 🤠

Are you in co ? Looks beautiful behind ya
Jesus loves you 😉, and so do i
I love your channel! Very helpful, thanks! May I ask: what does a clear / sharp "x" marking on the stock mean?
I just picked up an unfired circle 11 M44. Does anybody know the barrel twist rate?

Hey, I've got a 1931 Hex receiver Mosin with one marking that appear to be defaced. I'd love to send you some pictures of it for your opinion.
BIG

Does it have a front sight hood?
My mosin has these funny little eagles with double lightning bolts. It's an M44, unrefurbished.
Thanks Big Sam!
