Bookstore actually stocks SKILL BOOKs that improves your run vastly. F5 now shows the price if you already sold the item once, very useful. As you progress you actually unlocks more NPC that sell QoL stuff. Been having a blast with the latest patch. I actually found the game from one of your older video on this game.
I love Zero Sievert, I'm glad to see that game has inspired others to make more games on this concept. I like the idea of a single player extraction where you find materials to build up your hideout or camp, or even a small town. The main attraction being single player so I can pause whenever I need to, very important for my gaming life. Wish listed and following for now
I appreciate the amount of content & patches that have been updated in to NightRadier, I started playing this when it first released on Steam. I'm liking the changes I see so far.
When you tried to add an armor plate to your leg armor, it can take an armor plate, you just need to find one for the leg, the one you were trying to use was for the chest armor, each piece, unfortunately has an armor plate designated only for a specific piece of equipment. If they were generic, and would work on anything, armor upgrades would be so much easier. And I know, that's why they're specific
Love this game, this dev is CONSTANTLY providing updates and is a totally different game every 6 months. Love this game, 1 of my highest played games in 2024
BOOKS! If you get the right book, a full stack of three is almost 20k. And skillbooks can give you some nice perks. Also, you should turn on the price awareness, which tells you how much stuff is worth once you've sold one unit of it.
Two things for interested parties: 1) The game is very much still in development. Don't expect a finished product. There are still minor bugs that probably won't be fixed until all major features are implemented. 2) The game does not have nested backpacks. You can't put a storage container inside another storage container. (Unless something major has changed!) You can put storage containers only into your inventory, lootable objects and your storage locker at the base.
Addendum: The cool buff Splattercat got from drinking the coke isn't reducing his body heat below 25°C. Which is the "normal" body heat. So it only cools you down if you're too hot. No reason to worry about the buff when you're already below 25°C.
Little advice for new players: When spending money on training for your stats, I advice for the following: Dexterity (loot speed), Agility (run speed), Willpower (max fatigue) and Strength (max stamina). Mobility and speed is pretty important. Especially hunger and thirst isn't much of a concern in the beginning, in my opinion.
You can still buy the documents for the higher difficulties. The vendor that sells weapons and stuff has various tiers. You unlock the first in the beginning, which doesn't contain a document. But when you progress in the quest line, you get your first document for the normal difficulty. This will unlock the second tier at this vendor. Allowing you to buy the document as well. Which is used up when using it to go on a normal difficulty run. It is much cheaper now as well. I think the first one only costs like 20k. That is a very payable amount in the beginning.
Another advice: Check the key bindings. They are not configurable. But important to know. For example, to activate night vision, flash light, helmet light, laser pointer, etc. Most importantly though, it allows you to show item values in your inventory and while looting. If you never sold the item in the base, you will see question marks. But as soon as you sold it, you can see what it is worth. Very good when looting to know which items to leave behind and which to take.
Maybe I've just been influenced by too many Fulci films; but I'm not sure I trust a tool store that seems to carry primarily handcuffs, hacksaws, and lime.
I almost though this was an RPG based on Knight Rider the car. Who wouldn't want to drive around in a talking car, solving crimes, mysterious and unlocking cards of beautiful nude women?
@@dukex123 yeah of course i'm not expecting it from a solo dev but still I think it would stand out... it should be able to be played single player or in multiplayer and be balance for either scenario. I actually haven't played this yet but have had in my wishlist and have been debating getting now or later but either way i do want it.
I'd say give helldivers1 or red solstice 2 a look for that mission based coop top down extraction action, but they both kinda lack the scavenging based progression system...
I enjoy your channel, but I rarely watch much of the videos. I either am not into the game, and don't care to see it played, or I'm sold, and I don't want it spoiled. Anyway, merry XXX-mas and stuff!

I always feel a little bit bad for Splat because I unintentionally tank his metrics and negatively affect how the algorithm treats him. If the game is really appealing, I probably watch a couple of minutes before adding it to the wishlist or doing some research. If the game doesn't grab me or it's not my genre, I tend to move on quickly. Either way I feel like my viewing habits for his channel are a net detriment. I know it's a drop in the ocean but I really appreciate this channel and what he does so it kinda sucks. Sometimes I'll pity-watch by turning a video on to run in the background while I'm doing stuff somewhere else as penance.
picked up this game last time Splat showed it. while it had some nice stuff the grind was a little too much for me. sounds like a lot of patches have helped. i tend to be a major loot goblin and when i left off i had a large backpack with like 3 other smaller containers all that i filled each run. i remember there was a key that showed all items value as long as you found them once before.
F5 shows the value of things you already sold. Bookcases have a chance of having skill books, most books arent worth the inventory space (excluding porn)
Hey Splat, you provide a public service. Checking in on early access games, checking back with them after they had time to cook. Been a sub of yours for some... Damn... 10 years or longer? Time flies, I suppose. Anyway, appreciate you doing what you do, my guy. Oh, caffeine... Man, can't do it. I drink tea, other than jasmine or something like chamomile, can't do it. Coffee? Forget it. I go straight tachycardiac with that. Funny, considering back in my, uh, "younger," days (early 30's), quad shot white mocha from Starbucks used to get me through my IT days. Now, I drink a Redbull, like one of the 8 oz ones, and I'm bouncing off the walls, BP is like 160 over 90, wrecking shop, and hating my own body. ;) Oh, and I'm awake for a couple days. Funny when you cut caffeine out of your life for years, how some extreme caffeine intake can screw with your body. I don't care what people say, if the cartels traded in coffee, they'd make *so* much more money. "Hey man, wanna buy some beans? Tell you what, your first six oz of beans are free..." ;)
It still baffles me when I tweet you a game that i think you might like, i see a video within 24 hours, lol! I think this is the 3rd recommendation. Keep up the great work and I'll keep my eyes peeled for more possible titles!
One nagging question I have is, is there a way to alter the infection rate 'timer' that's ticking away? I like the idea of trying to survive whilst waves of zombies soak up my ammunition. Making choices between looting, shooting, and scooting. But I'm not a fan of having a set timer.
You have quite a lot of time in the late game. Early on, you limiting factor is storage space on your person. When you have storage containers, it's less of an issue. And by then you can increase your maximum infection from 100 to 200. Add to this that later on you can reduce your current infection with meds. In the early game those are hard to come by. In the mid and late game you get them thrown at you until you say stop. Nothing stopping you from going into the hardest map, the prison that is, and be in shock by how many zombies will swarm you during the waves. Until you run out of ammo or die! :)
Am I the only one that doesn't like procedurally generated levels? Procedurally spawn loot is ok. But i like to know where to go to increase my change of finding things
Its not a big deal its just a money drain for the player. You can do several runs without repairing even more if you avoid getting hit alot. So its fine in this game, has a purpose and isnt to anoying.
I can confirm it's not an issue. In the late game you just click a button between the runs to repair. And you can configure your experience. You can increase the time it takes for weapons to break when you start a game. Maybe even turn it off? Not sure. I played on the highest difficulty settings. Meaning weapons lose durability very quickly. In the early game, I needed backup weapons. In the mid game it wasn't that big of a deal. Didn't need backup weapons anymore. In the late game I needed to bring a lot of repair stuff. Because on the last map my weapons lost their durability three times over. But that is on the most "annoying" durability setting for the game. I recommend not doing it unless you want the achievement.
@@dukex123 And i think thats a great way to allow everyone to experience the game how they want. For many people repair kits are useless and for you they were a must have. More Games should do it that way.
I only played this one. sievert is still on my list. But I think sievert is better when you actually want to get into the game. Night raider is very much in development. I've only played zero sievert (and am def a noob) but it was a blast. Looks better than this game, the combat is quite good. Though for 4 bucks for this game why not get both.
Is this the same dev as Zero Seivert because it looks exactly like it. For $5 im not knocking it. Good use of using your game to make something else. Just curious if someone ripped off that dev or if it's the same guy.
Different devs. I would also say that it is different *enough* from ZS to not be a ripoff. I mean, it has a similar graphics style and gameplay loop, but that can be said of nearly all games. It is definitely an "inspired by" type deal though, if I had to guess. Differences include: Inventory system (with container-based storage options) Upgrade system (camp points and improving gear vs. building modules and replacing old gear with better gear) Enemies (zombies + bandits vs. corrupted animals + bandits + paramilitary + aliens?) Sheer quantity of stuff on the maps Run length (virus buildup vs. just running out of inventory space)
And walking to the loot locations? The search timers are a vital part for the game. You can reduce the time for money to a certain point. You can reduce it by half again with an item. That I had. And lost when I died once. And in 335 hours only found twice. Which increases your desire to not die. Those search timers are extremely important in this game. They are deliberately implemented.
I’m gonna guess because it looks exactly like zero sievert. Inventory, loot mechanics, gun play, graphics. I can definitely see how someone would see it as a ripoff or copy and paste of sievert
