So in my self justification process for spending $300 on a bad ass apron...one question comes to mind...is it hard to maintain? How do you clean it when necessary?

It’s all natural leather so any standard leather cleaner and conditioner should be no problem. If you choose, you can also pre-treat the leather with something like Nik wax to prevent stains.
Also, I should say that if you’re concerned about the stains then you should pre treat. I think it gives the apron a functional appearance so I just clean off any residue but allow any kind of natural coloration
I hope these aprons are vegan.

I get it. Unfortunately full grain leather is pricey and having them made in the USA isn't cheap either.

Can I suggest updating your website though to make shopping the first carousel and possibly make it static in the page as well. Also, you may want to consider offering some kind of care instructions and/or care products. Looks great and I can't wait to own one.

Already spent all my Christmas money...😔. Will keep it in mind next time I get some change in my pocket. Definitely would be nice, not only grilling, but also butchering and processing deer. Right now I just have a bunch of old t-shirts dedicated to the job.
Made in the USA, love it. Built my own leather apron out of 8 oz. Bison with straps over the shoulder rather than around the neck. Enjoy your videos.

Definitely would love to get one. Unfortunately living is Australia makes it hard. Current exchange rate puts it about $440 plus shipping. Maybe when the dollar improves i may buy one. Good luck with the sales though 👍👍
I just got the PIT BOSS leather apron for Christmas. Pit Boss sells them for $60.00 but Wal-Mart sells them for $25.00. It's a heavy oiled canvas with three large leather pockets and leather neck and waist straps. Yes, it's made in China but the Quality is awesome. Here's the website.

I'm not bashing Mad Scientist at all. I'm sure his apron is worth what he's asking and I know leather is worth it's weight in gold plus the labor and shipping.
I have confidence, the pit Boss apron will last me many years and if it doesn't, I'll buy a new one for $25.00.
Jeremy, big fan for a while now. I just wanted to say I love that you have found an item to sell, that not only advertises you and your product of Mad Scientist BBQ, but that is also useful, unique & functional. RUclipsrs are all the time selling hats and shirts with their logo on it, but even though they are entertaining, I wouldn’t want to be caught dead wearing some of it. I would be thrilled to own one of these aprons, especially if you are able to add some customized add-on’s at some point to the order (I’m thinking Tong loop or hook, someone else mentioned a knife sheath / metal liner, which would be awesome). Anyway, thanks for the great content and keep coming up with ideas like these.

I feel like the price is fair for the quality. I assume this is going to be aimed at more of the professional and very serious bbq’rs .
It’s just how the home mechanic wouldn’t normally pay for snap-on tools but the professionals appreciate the quality because they use it every day. Good luck with your business hopefully one day I’m serious enough about it to justify it.
I want one because I know it’ll last me forever and over than time it’ll probably save me 300 in jeans and t shirts.

Once you make a killing of the thick leather could you explore the functionality of a soft suede version that might be sturdy enough ??? not sure of that but a softer less ridged feel appeals to me!!! Plus you might benefit if you can sell more volume at a easier price for us peon wage earners that have to budget because we give our souls only to one CORPORATE MASTER who abuse us and give us only a tid bit for the soul we surrender for an entire life. Got one of these for fathers day today. Wow, it does not disappoint. Often when purchasing sight unseen the real thing can be a disappointment. This apron is worth every penny and very high quality. Jeremy, any suggestions on maintenance? I'll be using this for years to come, great product!
When I first saw your videos and your leather apron it immediately brought back memories of my grandpa wearing his. He was a blacksmith from 1919 to the early 60’s. I can still remember him working at the forge and forming iron at the anvil. Leather was the best, protecting him from the heat of the fire and working the red iron. I don’t cook with an apron but if I did I’d have one of yours. I can see how they would be nice with the larger offset smokers and doing a larger scale cook. Getting ready to fabricate my own offset this winter. Have a 24” diameter propane tank that is going to work nicely for what I want. Going to clone one of the Yoder smokers manufactured here in Kansas. Enjoy your videos and thanks for sharing.

Enjoy the channel and hope to pick up one of these aprons soon. Looking to get into smoking, and can’t seem to find a smoker that’s in the range of 1,500 that fits my criteria. Do you know if the old country bbq gravity smoker is still being produced? Was looking at pellet, but if can get charcoal and run a fan with I would prefer that method now @madscientistbbq

They’re absolutely beautiful Jeremy! But you need to make them for even larger people than what you have. Because unfortunately, you’ve actually got people out here that are large because I like to eat the barbecue too!
I love the design but $300 is probably more than I would want to spend for an apron. Would u ever consider making the same design available in another material to help make it more affordable/accessible for those that don’t want to pay for the genuine leather option?

Awesome 👍 think about flaps over the bottom pockets to keep stuff from falling in them.... Like juice when carving ect. But other then that beautiful!

Should work for plus size iPhones, but depending on what kind of case, it may not fit.
I am sure it is great and all, but $300 is a little much. You can make a toaster out of gold, but it will still only be a toaster.
