- Every year Sydney hosts the Vivid festival. A spectacle of lights and music.

I thought this event would be the perfect occasion to bring the Pocket 4K. Harsh super bight lights against the deep black of the sky.
No noise reduction was applied.

beautiful footage as well as all your other footage I've seen with bmpcc4k. I think this shows one of the things this camera shines at best. Sticky thick neon colors and underexposed shadows that stay clean are something my 8 bit mirrorless, and even entry level cinema cameras (C100, fs700) couldn't achieve.
The majority of the projects I've worked on that I deem artistically significant to myself are this exact style of lighting. I'm finally getting results that look as good as my stills with their color science. I see in a comment you shot this pro-res 422 and not even BRAW. Good to know it's as much about the sensor, color science, and lack of compression artifacts that contribute to that quality, not just having raw. Happy shooting to anyone benefiting from this beautiful little camera :)
I've been shooting for a couple weeks with it now, and think I'm gonna make my first gear review/test footage post about it here soon. It blows my c100, and a7riii out of the water :)

This cam is definitely a little beast. It has its limitations of course but very powerful and such a joy to shoot with !!

Can you do a short tutorial on your CC workflow, specifically showcasing what your initial exposure values were both RAW tab and waveform then your node correction/look work for this artwork?

What do you mean by CC ? You mean gradin ? For this I only added saturation, contrast and played with curves in FCPX :)
Yes, grading 😊 I would really like to see what your waveform values and ISO was for these before you graded.
@@GodsPlainTruthTV I'll think about doing a tutorial when I get the chance :). For this video i exposed for highlights mostly as I didn't mind the blacks being crushed.

beautiful! I was down for the day at Circular Quay (from Newcastle) with my C100mkii but couldn't stay for any of the night...what time do the lights start? might try to get down next week...crowds don't look too bad in this either
Thank you !! I think it started around 5:45-6pm. I went yesterday Wednesday so quiet night and it was so windy and pretty cold so not too busy I guess :).

Thanks a lot !! I usually shoot at 400, 1250, 2500 and 3200. This was shot almost entirely at 3200 and I exposed mostly for highlights. Hope this helps 👍

Do you pref m43 lenses over adapting with speedboosters? :)
Yes I do, not a big fan of adapters unless I want a specific look. The Pocket 4K is my travel and licensing cam so I try to keep it simple :).

It doesn’t no. I mean there’s very slight give but it’s normal I think and barely noticeable.
Dear FriendDid you have any barrel distortion problems filming with the Lumix 12-35mm F2.8, I went out and bought one and it seen to have a slight curves in the middle of the clips and did you use any noise reduction in the night clipsAnd thanks for your reply to the last questionsRegardsVisy
The Lumix does have a bit of distortion, especially at 12mm with the first version.
And no, no noise reduction applied :).
