I have another guess why that happens. Do you notice that the portion of the map behind the map border stays "unexplored" even though he definitely has enough visibility radius to cover it? I think what happens is that when you move it still gets explored, but becomes unexplored again because it's behind the map border. And because you get experience by uncovering the map, you get a ton of it because this weird interaction makes you "uncover" the map at an extreme rate.
So funny to see you find this mechanic! I read the patch notes a few days before the first video and thought "Man, if Tyler gets back into this game this will be wild!"
Man I love this games potion making system Its not just like "put x x and x in a certain order and you get x potion" instead its a map that you explore by using ingredients, you can use your own recipe to get a certain potion Also I like to think the hud is a potion making tool powered by mana, directing ink and sensing touch to make an intractable map that can be used to find recipes.
This would actually be a genius method of potion creation, because potions theoretically can be created using various recipes. Also, it's just really cool to see magical maps
The makes sense, something to add: maybe the reason you can’t see the whole map immediately is because the map is the player’s making, and since at the beginning the player is a new alchemist at the beginning, it can’t come preloaded with info.

Hey Tyler, there's a little tip that might be helpful in future videos. You can stir with just the tip of your spoon, that will make it more precise. The less of the spoon you have in your cauldron, the slower the movement is on the map. It sure makes the action of moving your mouse painstakingly slow a tad less severe and annoying.

I'm a game programmer, and I have a guess. I'm thinking you get XP from travelling in the game, and the XP probably scales with the distance you are from the middle. The wall resetting your travel is probably making it count the travel wrong, or double-counting it, kinda thing.

Haggling percentages are VeryEasy: 20%, Easy: 30%, Medium: 40%, Hard: 45%. Very Hard: 50%. So if you're not confident on your haggling you should at least do Medium for the 40% price increase/decrease. Edit: I'm not sure about this, but I think that the harder the difficulty the harsher the punishment it is for missing.

There's so much strategy and micromanagement possible with the whirlpools and when you water a potion. To not even mention what can be done with rotation.

if you are wondering why some of the potions are tilted its because you Dont have the Right base liquid at the moment you need oil to be able to get a tier 3 with it
@@olivergobrrr2935 Different bases (right now it's just oil) are entirely different maps. Several effects which are rotated on the water map are available on the oil map without rotation. Not all of them, though. Also the oil map is also missing many of the basic effects, so some of the advanced alchemy machine potions require you to use the rotated effects on the water map because they need to be combined with things which aren't available on oil.
Half right. Some of the rotated potions are easier to make with the oil base, but not all of them are on that map. A few rotated potions need to be made with moon salt, which rotates the potion icon so that it fits.
I recently decided to calculate it, I have been watching your channel for a little over 2 years and I’ve been consistent watching every day. That comes out to a total of 435 HOURS of watch time

If this is not all prerecorded (it might be) then the best way to do hard and the next difficulty of haggling is to go to settings and turn your fps to 30 (: another thing, if you hear your pot anywhere and stars stirring you will go faster than normal(helps for further potions faster, as long as your not starting on unwanted effect or go through a vortex/whirlpool then your good)
I think that you need to play on the beta to play the same version as tyler on steam. if you go to potion craft, click on settings (the gear box), click on properties, click on beta, and select beta 0.5.0, you can play the same version that tyler is playing

I am pretty sure that tyler tried to make the charm potion at the start with only 1 ingredient, learned what the whirlpool does, failed, and cut it out. if you look at the map at 0:38 the place the whirlpool teleports to is not visible, but at 0:56 we can see where it teleports, and tyler gained some xp between the times, but we didn't see anything that would give xp
He never tried the foggy parasol... That thing had a weird path maybe it rotates the potion or affects it in some other way After all spinning an umbrella is pretty common

I kind of wish the merchants had changing prompts for what potions they need. Like some days mushroom man needs a dexterity potion but later on he needs a levitation potion to reach a gathering spot up a cliff, or a light potion to gather mushrooms in a dark cave.
I want whatever that fisherman is doing to become a full fledged game, that sounds like a lot of fun especially if it was in a similar style to potion craft

I've been kinda rocketing through because I played the prior version alot, and I think I skipped the dwarf appearing entirely. I'm now at day 110 and he still hasn't showed up once. Had to brew potions for Philosopher's Stone entirely without crystals, brewing with the new base ingredient and exploring all maps fully. Its a pain to say the least...

I think the one type of ingredient refers to the fungi, flowers, and crystals. It would be impossible to make a potion with one ingredient.

it would-but the thurther away from the potion you get the less visable the line becomes-therefore if you are too far you might not see it.
