- Historical Flags of Portugal: The flag of Portugal (Portuguese: Bandeira de Portugal) is a bicolor with a field divided into green and red. The lesser version of the national coat of arms of Portugal is centered over the color boundary. This design was adopted in 1911 for the new national flag of the First Portuguese Republic.

One correction, the flag that appears at 1:26, was a flag adopted in the last year of the government of King John V, in 1750. It was discontinued when it was ordered to be removed by Queen Mary I, who considered it "Unfashionable", maybe in the year 1777 or 1778. The flag that was adopted was the same as the reign of King John V.
