I love your reel comparisons! you always explain everything that I wanna know, it’s nice to be able to compare real to real to see what you’re getting and make a decision on that information. For instance, I own a Shimano Nasci and I think for the money it is terrific and I love it! Thank you for all you do and keep on trucking and we will keep on following! Jim
Thank you for this review. I have been going back and forth trying to decide on my next reel and this video solved the problem. You guys are awesome. Thank you
Wow!! Did not know much of what was covered in this vid. Thanks, very educational and explained very well with diagrams, etc. Saving for future reference. I work at a sports outfitters and most people just shop by maximum price willing to pay.
Nicely done! Very thorough. Good explanations with depth. A tear down is rarely included in a review but always welcome ; ) I got the 4000 for the surf and the light weight is quite noticeable. The drag really punches above its weight class at >26lbs. I'm bashing the breakers with my Saltist 4500 on a 12' rod and it weighs 14oz more and drag rated to 22lbs. The 4000 on a 10' rod really hits the sweet spot for 1/2-3/4oz jerk baits preaching full confidence on a 25 lb striper. Keep up the great work and thanks for the content!
Thanks for the review, I just received a 4000 yesterday from FishUSA for $129. Don’t know why it was so cheap, and they no longer carry that size ? But after watching this I know I scored. It’s going to make a great Albie reel. Great job as usual.

Great video very informative I have the older procyon actually 3 of them they are megsealedj love them I also have the ballistic and they work flawlessly I've caught a ton of fish with them best reels I've ever owned
I have been fishing for 60+ years. If anybody had told me I would be paying $500 for a reel I would have thought them insane. My first spinning reel was a Mitchell 321, then up to a Mitchell 301. Now days I am fishing with Stella's, BG's and I just ordered a couple of Penn Authoritys'
You're correct, Aluminum is a stronger metal than Zinc...but can you substantiate the difference between an Aluminum Gear Vs. a Zinc Gear after let's say 1 year worth of use? Is there any documentation to prove this? Otherwise, it's just speculation and "my buddy says 'X'" at this point. The Zinc Gear that Daiwa uses isn't just "Larger". The teeth are cut deeper, as well as having a proportionate depth-cut to the Pinion Gear for better meshing/wearing. Saying that Zinc is inferior to Aluminum may be true when it comes to the integrity of the metal itself...but in application for a spinning reel (especially for the majority of light tackle Freshwater & Inshore Saltwater spinning reels), it doesn't make a difference. Not everyone is trying to winch in 100qty 40"+ fish in deep water against current, most anglers are just fishing the flats or underneath mangroves/docks, and for this application there simply isn't an advantage to using Aluminum, Brass, Stainless or otherwise over traditionally used Zinc.
So true, it's frustrating because there are many issues with the lt reels I can imagine with bad gears. I had a bad certate lt and regret selling the old HD.
If you had to choose a single reel between the Procyon AL LT and the new Procyon MQ LT, which would you choose? Removing the price since they are similar in that ... which is better? for bass fishing, some mangrove and rock fishing

Those seemed very solid as well (I had a chance to play with a 3000 size a few weeks back). It's just in a completely different category than this particular reel. The Kapatan Elite, like you mentioned, is a solid aluminum body and IPX6 Sealed...which is great if you are a Surf Angler, or fish with live bait more often. The Procyon MQ is more designed for artificial lures in shallower water scenarios because it is lightweight (under 7oz in the 2500 size). The Kapstan Elite is more similar in design to a Penn Spinfisher VI.
Why?? Like seriously why?? It’s just too many models my god they need to get rid of some before they start to pile more on top of what they got there all the same almost

Always interesting reviews from you👍
Thanks for watching!
Great job! It's helps me with my job knowing this product
Glad we could help!
Can you make a video comparing the Procyon mq and the bg mq
Think I’d stick with the BG MQ. Even those have the sealed reel handle, a 10 cent piece.
Thanks for the feedback!
Is it safe to use in the surf
Is this reel sealed like the BG Mq?
20% to 30% larger in gear size but 20% to 30% weeker cause the gear is made of zinc! They need to step the gears up to brass or aluminum.
Thanks for the feedback!

You can get the Caldia MQ (MAGSEALED) for $150. Better and cheaper than Procyon MQ.
It doesn’t appear on the Daiwa USA website. Australia and France have it, but the US doesn’t (yet).
@@billhobson6637 DIGITAKA from Japan, 3 day shipping to your door in the states, simply amazing.
@@TTangOutdoors I’d rather have something that I can get support from, if needed, here in the US.
@@billhobson6637 Just curious, what kind of support have you gotten before?
@@TTangOutdoors I’ve experienced a lack of support, like needing parts and not being able to find anyone that carried them.
Does it have the reverse switch
Great video - hope you had a great Thanksgiving with the new addition to the family !!!!!!
Thank you! You as well!
Why no review on the Kage MQ?
Just haven't done that yet. We can let the team know it's been requested!
Good review, of a cool reel named for a raccoon!
Guardians of the Galaxy made raccoons cool again.
@@funkymojo111 good, trash pandas need good press given their criminal records and reputations
THank you!
Is this the same as the mq lt?

I'd rather get a KastKing Kapstan Elite 3000-size for $129.99. It has an IPX6 waterproof rating with all metal body with super-high line capacity.
Thanks for the feedback!
