I think this could tie well with your redstone poisoning scenario maybe redstone posining inflicts heavy hallucinations like making water look like lava (thus inducing rabies-like hydrophobia) so you'll stay away from the disease's main weakness, then makes surface blocks look deadly, say like TNT, cacti, or a horde of hostile mobs, to force those underground migrations, finally the extreme photosensivity, alongside another dash of hallucinations will make the infected utterly devoted to (and pretty effective in) mining all of the redstone requiered to continue the cycle

maybe it makes redstone look like diamonds/whatever the infected likes and the parasite twists their minds into becoming a more "generous person" thus why they are dispensing redstone into the ground (thinking its diamonds and giving them to people, not knowing their spreading an infection they dont know they have), maybe it has amnesic affects, making the person forget they have an infection, forget where they are, etc.

@@exy_notevil Iv had times where blocks take forever to break or I’ll place them and it takes a few seconds for them to show up,plus tnt used to be super laggy back in the day,red stone is just generally laggy and most blocks with an interface tend to bug out with lag. So that’s what I figured you were going for. Good stuff though. Honestly I’d like to see you make more EAS stuff revolving around mundane glitches and bugs to us that would interpreted as supernatural phenomena to NPC’s

The loneliness and paranoia of playing solo, the confusion from immersing into the game to the point that you are frustrated that you can't just touch it, makes analog horror and specifically this misperception fear particularly acute

The first three all have a natural way of being put into an active state, and the last one is an item type that changes when they’re activated. This sounds like objects that can be put into motion frequently enough are starting to cause hallucinations. Maybe something living within the movement of non living entities has finally started taking notice of us…
I can see how this could be implanted into the mod I was talking about, like if you need to wash yourself off it could have a chance to make water look like lava, even giving you the fire overlay when your in just without the damage, and do the same with lava, it would even be a chance to so you would need to be quick but careful as to not make sure you get mistaken, the only why you could know is by sound, listening for the bubbling sound lava makes to prove if your actual by lava

It isn't actually. It's more of a 'if you have this thing on your, you're screwed.' I really wasn't putting to much logic when writing the script of this video, just random idea that came up to me.
Basically, you can't be sure that the object you're perceiving is actually what it is. You could be holding what seems to be a dispenser but actually is a tnt and you placed it next to an active redstone dust or torch, thinking it's a dispenser. Pretty sure I'm still wrong even though I'm the video creator.

Essentially the player is seeing things wrongly, these blocks might be dangerous but to the player are perceived are normal.
