      If you come to Ireland then 1st know that everyone is very kind ,racism isn't a thing , and it's a nice place when it comes to the people but I will say it's one problem is its weather, every day it can change from twice to 6 times a day from sunny to minus 2 and then 5 degrees and raining and even in the summer it can be minus some days and the max it will really get to is 20 degrees but its rare .it's still a nice place but it's made me cancel plans too many times to count so,if your going then research a bit about where you want to be just in case you get to live somewhere but after a while you might get flooded if you're near the coast ,anyway goodluck and do your research.

    Thank you so much for posting this.My farm in Australia is going on the market..sick of heat, drought, bushfires, snakes. Covid has amazingly put rural property prices here through the roof, as city dwellers want to escape the masses, so my dream of Ireland is a distinct possibility now, not just a fantasy. See you there!

    Bought over an acre, with three houses on it, in a forest, in beautiful County Kerry, suitable for an eco-village, for ….21k, also a schoolhouse for 16.5k, and an acre with a bothy on an island for 10k - this woman talks a lot of sense, people need to get down and dirty, get real, and do some work, and stop following Kim Khadashian's ass....

    Several of the biggest market experts have been voicing their opinions on exactly how awful they think the next downturn would be, and how far equities may have to go, as recession draws closer and inflation continues well above the Fed's objective. I'm trying to build a portfolio of at least $850k by the time I'm 60, therefore I need suggestions on what investments to make.

    Good video keep it up =). Sligo is another good option =), great scenery / near the coast and Sligo town decent size population of around 20,000 can buy a house or apartment for 70,000-100,000, other parts of Sligo 50,000-80,000 =). Might move there myself someday, living in the east renting now but not gonna stay in the rat race for much longer, I still cant get my head around people spending few hundred thousand for a box in Dublin that they pay for until their in they're sixties and always under pressure with huge mortgages etc , when they could by a few rental properties with that money and move to the beautiful west of Ireland and be financially free. That is my plan anyway saving until I can buy cash in the west, no banks getting my money, rant over ha =)...

    My mother was born in Roscommon so I was interested to hear this. She was born in a house in the Hill Street area so I was amazed to see the school house price. In Hill street some neighbouring houses were owned by my mother's cousins. The house where she was born was sold to a neighbour and converted to a storehouse. Another cousin's house was inherited by a relative who didn't need it and just let the grass and weeds grow up all around it. What a pity. Wow. Second county was Mayo where my father's family came from. Tipperary where cousins lived. Leitrim where I have cousins. Who knew we were so cheap? Well I would have guessed really. Famous writer John McGahern's books were set in the Leitrim area which he loved and lived in.

    Omg, this is exactly what I’ve been thinking of late (day-dreaming) , my own little cottage in Ireland. About two miles outside a small village., so I can walk to the pub and back and not get too drunk. I’ll have a dog and a cat and maybe a few chickens. I’ll go for long walks in the hills and valleys and I’ll have my dog and one of those tweed caps and a hawthorn walking stick that is whittled by my own hands. I’ll take notes and images for melancholy moments to write poetry or prose for my own eyes only. Oh, Jaysus...

      No, he does not. It is my understanding that it’s prohibitively expensive to own real estate in Ireland and also the government requires people to have in excess of $100,000 per person to live there even part of the year. Am I misinformed?

    • @Anonymoose66G
      @Anonymoose66G Год назад

      @@gladysclausing8785 Real estate in Ireland is very expensive depending on location, if you exclude the capital (Dublin) then it's not extortionate but compared to most USA states it's still relatively expensive, were talking 1 acre (I believe in The USA you measure land by sq footage even for yards so I'm not sure what that equates to) residential land with planning permission around €90,000 and €3,000 a sq foot of residential property. In Dublin it can be as high as €7,000 per sq foot.
      I know in The USA you can get some insanely cheap property in rural states like West Virginia which is like 6x cheaper however their usually in a poor location and also since The USA has alot more land, land is cheaper also, however you must also note that Irish building codes are more modernized than American ones I believe so the quality of the build is usually better, also I believe property taxes are lower and we don't have to deal with HOA's etc.
      As far as the legal requirement for living in Ireland I'm not too sure but it seems incorrect, no country that I know of is that picky with who it let's live their, usually you just have to prove that you can live/retire their without government assistance thus not being a drain on resources, which usually equates to 3,000$ a month.
      I'd also look into getting an Irish citizenship because even if you don't move here (I wouldn't) you gain freedom of movement for only 75$, also if you have any children that'll be going to college they have the option of studying for free in Europe if their an EU citizen, I believe the children can inherit the citizenship as well although I could be mistaken.
      If you didn't know this 7/10 out of young Irish nations want to move abroad (usually to Australia, The USA or UK) because of the cost of living, housing market and inadequate salaries.

I would not be taking a job because of my Social Security and pension, but I don't want to be depressed. US has it's problems as well. You do have alot of regulations over there. Is that the problem?

    Mayo should the top of this list, Westport to Dublin train, Flights to Heathrow from Knock meaning you can go anywhere in the world, The most blue flag beaches of any county and stunning mountain ranges. The countries longest Greenway is also there. Even remote places like Clare island have enterprise hubs with fast internet. Castlebar has a University and large a hospital. The only problem really is the best parts to live are crazy expensive, It's mostly east Mayo that's affordable so a bit like your North Cork...

    I live in the Tennessee in the country. Hard to beat that accept have to drive to get decent stores. But my grandfather was from Ireland and I can get citizenship. Never even been to Europe. I'm a fixer up guy but I'll bet building materials are through the roof in Europe.

    • @Anonymoose66G
      @Anonymoose66G Год назад

      I do believe the cost of materials is higher in certain European countries compared to The USA, also you should definitely get an Irish passport it's one of the best in the world right now since Brexit, it also allows you to travel visa free in the Schengen zone without a passport btw. You also have to keep in mind that on average European houses are built out of more expensive materials as well so there's that.
