Even though this video was filmed with a baked potato, it was a fucking fantastic performance from Rob. His vocals here sounded even better than they did from a performance from over 15 years ago! He is a legend. I’m happy that I got to see them back in 2004. I hope see them one more time.
There is a video pro shot of them doing devils child in 2008, and Robs voice sounds absolutely shot. then there are some videos recorded in 2022 doing it again, and he sounds amazing.Something happened around firepower in 2018, and his voice came back much stronger.
The Angel of Retribution tour was a bit underwhelming when I saw him, given that it was only a few years before he was on fire with his Halford band when I saw them.
He had about 2 years to rest his voice. This is their first live appearance after about 2 years. Once they get into touring, about 10 shows into it, his voice gonna be shot. It's already scratchy at some high notes. Plus he needs to lose that beard. He looks like Santa Claus...
I couldn't disagree more. Judas Priest is about delivering the heavy metal goods, and as far as I can tell, they still deliver it fiercely and enthusiastically. On the issue of the line-up changes: none of the original members of the band have been there since the 70s. And yes, in the 90's they even proved that when replacing The Metal God himself, The Priest was still rocking like hell with The Ripper on vocals. Many bands wither away with line-up changes. Priest, however, seems to somehow make it an advantage every time it occurs. Without Halford there would be no Screaming for vengeance. Without Dave Holland there would be no British Steel. And without Scott Travis there would be no Painkiller. Without Tim 'Ripper' Owens there would be no Jugulator. And last but not least: without Faulkner, there would be no firepower. Judas Priest has changed every single instrumentalist several times over, through the years and still sound fucking killer in every constellation. Saying it's time to call it quits after a show like this, is blasphemy 😁 I expect one thing, and one thing only, from Judas Priest: Heavy Metal! And I have gotten it through every album, and every gig I've heard and seen!
@@dvaoa Listen to the solo on the album and compare it to here He is pushing it alittle to fast with the first high notes Songs almost always tend to go faster live so maybe that affected him, but there's some timing mishaps here even though he does a great job otherwise
I disagree tbh, he's hitting the notes with particularly more power than the last time they attempted it, which is impressive as hell for a guy who is near 70 and hasn't sang in well over a year and a half in a live setting. My only complaint is Andy is not pulling all his weight here. And thats generally been my complaint with the band since he joined. He got way better since then, but he's always wobbly on new songs. Anyways, this is by far one of the hardest songs to sing in the whole catalog and Halford does justice to a lot of it here. And if past tours are anything to go by he'll get stronger, not weaker, as he goes. Halfords voice makes no physical sense, but I'm glad its still with us lmao
I agree as well, and not only for this song. It is also difficult to watch when he keeps looking down to read the lyrics on teleprompters and iPads. He even acknowledged this in his book. Rob Dukes, formerly from Exodus, said that Rob told him how he was using something like 8 to 12 iPads placed all around the stage because his memory was shot (even though he's been sober for years).
Seriously very well done for someone who is 70 years old. Love this song.
Agreed. Rob's only equal is, and has always been Eric from Manowar (I didn't say Dio because IMO hes better than both)
Great song. I'm a one man band on youtube. Hope I can make a good song.
even though he is 70 years old, he is awkward during the chorus
70 years old and his voice is unmatched... Second to none even at this age
I was thinking the same thing! Unbelievable!
Definitely - he's amazing.
Weaving a path of destruction that's second to none...second to noooooone!
he's going to be a legend remembered for hundreds of years!

They played all songs I waited for years to see live. Exciter...Touch of Evil...One shot at glory...it must be a dream 🖤🖤🖤
My dreams came true in 2018. I witnessed the live version of Saints in Hell. My heart melted.....
Can't believe they are playing it live on this tour! This is amazing!
Ayy Metal Pilgrim. Love your videos mate
It's insane that Rob can still sing like that at age 70.
Better than the reunion tour performances!
My dear friends, this is the best version of Exciter in more than 40 yrs. Believe it or not
I don't believe it. The best version is the one in Unleashed in the East with his vocals done in the studio, but the final version is the best.
@@carapungo well I meant live version
Wow, Andy stepped up here.
I love bald headed skinny Santa Clauses! They rock!! I Cant wait for the new Priest album!
最後のシャウトはまさに驚異的としか言いようがないです!
Insane, Rob is the supreme vocalist, 70 years old and through shitty camera with shitty sound, he still rules the planet. cheers.
Que viejo lindo, lo amo, cuánta experiencia
maravillosa performance
Damn, Rob was killing it!
Ez nagyon király igazi rock and roll
Wow that was awesome!
Супер!!!!Великолепно!!!
Maravilhoso/ simples assim.
Rob's doing way better compared to the Angel of Retribution tour, when he didn't even attempt to reach the high notes.
Hell yea, I agree. Rob seems to be taking better care of his vocals

Well he's 70....so there's that. Lol and I kinda dig the beard.
@@peterfarkas2792 Fah-Q2!! I am going to be at that 10th show moron!!!
Dulce diabólico conciente único, eternamente agradecido.
Oh my fucking God!!!!
Great vid thanks for posting! Looking forward to seeing them with my best friend in October! \m/
How the hell is Rob Halford still doing this in 2021?
Because God and Death know how quickly the fans would kill them if his voice was taken.
03:21 Fall to your knees and repent if you please... 😎
Before there was Painkiller there was Exciter.
There was nothing wrong with Andy's guitar 🎸 playing. Exciter was amazing.
complete full show
Great song. I'm a one man band on youtube.
The drummer and Richie must be using a flat iron on their hair.
Time to call it quits. And I say that as a big fan.
Fah-Q2!!
Yeah, sadly, I must agree. Without the either of the original two-guitar attack, (and I DO like Ritchie!) there's no longer enough "Priest" left.

That first solo didn´t sound well, bad timing, absolute killer song otherwise, one of my favs for a long long time

This song is not for the current Halford.

Sure, Rob might not be able to get up there like he used to, but he’s adapting and putting on a great rendition.

the sound sucks and the performance as well, they really bastardized this glorious song. Jp is not the same without KK and GT
