70 years old and still plays so well unlike many others. KK needs to still involve him even if only on a part time basis otherwise I have a hard time seeing it as a true Priest variant.
Totally cut my teeth on unleashed in the east. Love the sound of British steel kind of had that solid roomy back in Black tight punch and Holland was very very solid. But the drum sound on unleashed and the way he played it it was just so good so tight what a phenomenal live record. Hard to believe they were the same band in the studio LOL

Could Halford come and go at will!!K.K and Glenn Nothing like it!!What you said is not true at all!! When Halford did his solo stuff, Priest went on to play Clubs!! I Love K.K and Glenn, I'd love to see his return!!He Does not get love like The Metal God!! Come and Go as he wants??It's already been proved!!
1) Halford left under different circumstances; entire band was tense with music changing around 1990, trial where they had to defent metal and Rob's stage accident where he had a show with a broken nose and none even cared (Hell Patrol was played instrumental as he was there in the stage fog with blood coming out his broken nose). They were all not 100% there and didn't get in terrible terms when Rob left to explore some other genres since none was sure where to go next. And if Travis didn't go after Halford in Fight, he'd never return with Ripper to reboot JP. 2) KK left on BAD terms, he shat all over JP; that they aren't trying hard enough, that music has changed too much (he took Nostradamus very personal), was so sure JP are done and he'll invest into golf courses; then tables have turned with his business; suddenly blamed Glenn for many things and of course it'll be hard to accept someone back after that. Which is a shame because Tipton and Downing were the best guitar duo ever and with Tipton's health, it'll never happen again. And yes, JP misses that A LOT (with all respect to Firepower that I love, Angel of Retribution was the last proper, raw JP album even though they played it safe there) 3) As someone said, with all respects, Halford is Halford. We'll never get that class again in our lifetime. When JP was without him, they had smaller venus, Halford solo band filled stadiums, easily With all that being said, I'd like to see KK next to Faulkner, that would really do it some justice. On Les, He's one of the best drummers ever, but "machine" Travis is just a better fit for most songs. It would be great to have 2 drummers depending on songs. So I'd actually be greatful if we could have both bands past this pandemic, to see them life and get some new albums of course. Two unique flavours of what was once THE HEAVY METAL band.
Wow,I always wanted to see him back with Priest.Master Musician, very progressive player. Why on earth did Priest ever get rid of him is a mystery to me.
I love it KK Downing brought back Les Binks he was on stained class hell-bent-for-leather and live from the East. Next he's going to have to bring back Simon Phillips and do the complete sin after sin album which is the best Judas Priest album ever made besides Rocka Rolla. Now wish they would have kept Les Binks on for the rest of the 80s instead of bringing in Dave Holland he's a freak. Binks was much better drummer than Dave Holland.
Proof positive of how 1970's Judas Priest was so awesome! Unleashed In The East and Hell Bent For Leather just scream classic 70's heavy metal,, thanks in no small part to Les's drumming style.
The Man still had "it"! Like how he went to the crash cymbals. Did not hear that from Scott Travis when I saw Priest at the House of Blues in L.A. on the Demolition tour.
Scott and Les play a different instrument. There is so much groove and spacing here, even on this camera audio you can tell. Imagine his playing here through a modern PA. God almight, what a band JP would be.

The drum beat on this song is much faster. Dissident Aggressor isn't fast - it's barely even mid-paced.
Along with Simon Phillips this was the very best Judas Priest drummer.
Agreed, but I'm not sure if we can consider (the great) Simon a JP drummer. I guess he was just a session drummer for Sin After Sin.
