It never ceases to amaze me how much precision and function they can fit inside a watch case. You truly are a magician at repairing watches.

Thanks Jeb 1967! Richard
I am satisfied! thank you, Richard :D
That was fun.😀
Onya Richard 👍🏾
Now that was satisfying.
The local watchmaker we use to have that’s being generous. His service consisted of washing the entire complete movement in some kind of solvent and then oil the jewels and other points. I never used him I learned how to do it my self and have been fixing all his handy work. I do my own and my friends and a few customers is what I have now, I have been at it a year. I wish I had your tallent Richard. I need a lot more practice I wouldn’t even touch the minute repeater. That would have to be sent to someone like you. I have done several Rolex a bunch of Seikos and several different ETA movements. Chrono movements still give me the pucker factor. But with each service I learn something new. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Your videos have helped me out several times. Thanks.
Now this is a satisfying way to start a Sunday with 👍
Haha! Good to hear Maarten! Richard
Well done Richard ! Brilliantly put together compilation of highlights from the past year, I remember watching the whole videos when you first put them out , I bet that was great fun for you.👍
The minute repeater is stunning. Sound effects add a little character to match yours too. Loved it
The minute repeater is very beautiful for sure! Thanks Ray! Richard
Richard, love your work. I had a look at your watch the sea wolf prototype. When you get the supply chain up and running, would you consider doing a video showing us the watch, especially the good stuff inside? I would definately watch that video.
You definitely had a good time putting this one together! Very creative way to share your talents with us. I have the same Seiko calendar mechanism on a 5206 LM Special - it's always a delight to catch that quick changeover!
Great vid! And I love the new facial hair!
Thanks Tammy! Richard
Nice job
That was very satisfying thank you, that minute repeater is one of my favourite videos you worked very hard for a year to get the results, you won't know this but that taught me to have more patience with my watchmaking, thank you Richard.
Hi John, Yes patience is pretty important for good results in this game! Thanks for the feedback. Richard
Beautiful stuff there Richard!
Im not a lover of Rolex but appreciate the skill in their manufacture 👍
That minutel repeater is just incredible, when you had it broken down into all its components...I think I would have gone into a corner, started rocking, put my thumb in my mouth and started crying for my Mommy! Thank goodness for Karl 😉
Lovely video once again Richard, class skills there 👍
Haha! Thank you Kent! The minute repeater is a bit scary to work on for sure. No parts list! No prospect of easily sourced replacement parts should anything go wrong! Keeps a chap focused! Richard
@@richardperrettwatchmaker Focussed? FOCUSSED??? Now there's the understatement of 2021 so far 😂😂😂
Good one ☝️
Thank you so much K King! Richard
Quite gratifying 🙂
Quality!
Thanks Simon! Richard
Haha great material.
Thanks Richard, that seiko date is something I have never seen. Nice bit of fun for Sunday, brilliant.
Rolex Datejust seems a bit sloppy compared. ; )
Richard, were you The Milkybar Kid back in the day? 😛
Hi Richard... The Milkybar kid is strong and tough and only the best is good enough! Hell yeah! Richard
Loved that video and what a spectacular watch that minute repeater is, what a lucky owner! I still marvel at the skills of an Uhrmachermeister!
Hello Vienna! ... when are we going to get some more ancient typewriter action? I need my Vienna fix! Richard
I am So satisfied 😎👏✌️🙈
A pity the modern Seiko isn't as quick to change, I reckon a 7S26 is several hours from starting to everything being lined up again. Nice video!
Hi Phil... The date change is so fierce the whole watch moves in the movement holder! Yes it sould be bice to see more like this today! Richard
Spectacular video! Sensational mustache! Hugs from Brazil, free from covid (I hope one day it will be).
When I hear and feel the date change on my Vostok while wearing it, I find it satisfying.
Őrült vagy!😀
Richard I’ve got to say that was great it was like watching an episode of The Goodies with you as Bill Oddie awesome 🚒👍
Very entertaining video Richard... Now lockdowns easing, I think you need to get out more 😂🤣
Agreed. Don't we all. I put action figures on my Roomba the other day... or week... or whatever it's been.
Haha! Hi Greg ... I so do! Getting cabin fever here. Did it show? Richard
@@richardperrettwatchmaker Every so slightly 😂
I like the way you did this video.
Greetings from Miami, Florida! 🌞
Thanks Mad Dog2020
Es usted un genio Dalí Picasso de la relojería
Wow, thank you Richard! Can't wait to see another restoration, maybe of a pretty rusted Rolex, like the one mentioned shortly in this video! The last one was an Invicta, by the introductory text, I was expecting you to blow a Russian watch :-) What a gorgeous movement for the minute repeater, you're a master! there are not many watchmakers daring to deal with such a complicated watch! Chers from Italy (today it's cold and yesterday we got some snow too...). Stay safe!
Cold in Italy in April is not right. I am looking forward to going to Siracusa again when travel starts up. There is a Rolex store on the main drag, the restuarants are heavenly and look out over the clear sparkling water! Good to here from you sir ... and yes more restoration videos are in production! Stay tuned. Richard
На 6:10 это чудо! Браво!
wow the minute repeater was incredible. what a beautiful tone from the chime mech. where can you buy one?
Richard .... my friend . They say the average gain was 29 pounds people put on during the pandemic.... I’ve put ion 16 .... it looks like you most definitely found a few , and didn’t miss many meals while at home .... I hardly recognized you with the beard , the shade of hair color , and additional cushion added to the waist line ... Where have you been? It seems like you haven’t posted a video in a long long time, maybe I’ve just missed them but it seems like that is the case? Anyways, you’re my favorite Watch Guy on RUclips and I just love your videos, not only are you super knowledgeable and skillful, but your videos are entertaining and funny at the same time, most of the Watch guys on here it’s one or the other, I wasn’t hitting on you about putting out a few extra trust me the 16 pounds I put on his noticeable as well I hope you don’t take it as heat, just having some fun poking the bear a bit
Haha! I am going for the Grandad look ... Pretty successfully I think! Richard
I want some of what you're on 💪🤩👍
You remind me of Michael Edwards ‘Eddie the Eagle’. Enjoy your videos too.
Haha! I'll take that as a compliment ... Eddie the Eagle is a big hero. What he did takes real guts! Nice one Andrew! Richard
A superb video Richard! That facial hair makes you look like a proper watchmaker. The bloke from New York seems like a super nice guy but he looks like a dentist lol. Fantastic! Cheers
Super watch super sarvesh
would you be able to do a video on a seiko 6139?
HI Colton good to hear from you young sir!... Able? yes! Eager to? Less so. I would need to find something special about this movement to warrant he investment in time. Hope things going well with your own channel! Rchard
A Henry Capt 18K Minute repeater circa 1890 sold for £7000 in 2016 .. i thought it would sell for more than that.
That would be about right. Seriously if you want a long term investment this is it. In fifty years time I figure these will be worth more than a single bitcoin! Richard
I love watches as they have one of the most amazing mechanics. I love them so much that I purchased 2 pocket watches to get them repaired. It cost a total of $1,100 but it is worth it. Watching videos like this lead me to purchase 2 mechanical watches. At the moment, I have an Elgin, 7 jewel which the movement was produced in 1910. It also has does not have the original case as it was replaced with a sterling silver, Dennison case. I researched into the this watch and it seems pretty special as it could have been used in the first world war. I assume this because the case probably would have been rusted in the trenches (Nickel Backed case) but still not sure. However, what makes it special is the condition of the case as it doesn't even have scratches. The one i love the most is a Fusee pocket watch from 1850 with a decorated front with brass and some weird dial. It is silver cased but sadly it has no makers mark.
It is really satisfying to see the repair of mechanical watches, especially pocket watches as you get to see the work put into restoring them. Sadly though it is not as widely recognized as it should because of the precision and the craftsmanship involved. Keep up the good work repairing these watches and giving it the recognition it should deserve.
Very pleased this is a real interest for you Rowan. Your fusee watch is a great piece of engineering... I am making a video on one atm! Stay tuned and thanks for this excellent feedback. Richard
@@richardperrettwatchmaker I look forward to the upcoming video. I do like the Fusee watch as you can hear the sound difference when you compare it to a spring wound watch from 1900's- 1930's. I do prefer a fusee watch over a spring wound watch because of the craftsmanship in the chain. I wonder what it would be to build a watch from scratch and how hard it will be?
'Were gonna blow something up now!' I can't think what else to do with an invicta.
I suspect Antiques Roadshow would be very disappointed with the Silvo, but not sure of their view of the salt & sodium bicarbonate bath.
Super sir I'm tamil nadu
What about a gruen percison alarm?
Hello Richard , Question , I have a Fusee Pocket watch which I believe to be fully wound ,the chain is wound onto the cone ,the chain has jumped a spiral an appears to be jammed at the top of the cone . Could you advise on how to dismantle the watch please. Thank you.
Hi Laurence, you need to be careful, if the spring releases its power without control the chain will snap for sure. I describe exactly how to disassemble the watch in the state in this video... ruclips.net/video/jVs5sp_ObP8/видео.html follow this and all should be well unless the movement is different in which case adapt as necessary.. Hope this helps. Richard
Thanks for the link Richard .
I just restored a 6139.
Why do I suddenly want a cigarette after watching this?
Haha! That's the spirit! Thanks Richard! Richard
That beautiful minute repeater I would guess, would not be welcome in church,at the opera or the ballet. Not to mention any theatre.......................
Super star u sir
"Ah, now about young Perrett, do you know what became of him?"
"Actually, I do, he went quite mad."
"Really, how so?"
"Watches. Happens every time. Mad as a hatter."
"Rotten luck, what?"
Completely bonkers for sure! Nice one Eugene! Richard
Too bad a saying "Mad as a Watcher." just doesn't sound right to be of any use.
Посмеялся. )))
Nice to see that you are also like a child at Christmas when the watch starts ticking. But how could you be blasé? I guess it must be hard to be indifferent when several hours meticulous work gets payed off so to say.
But now to something completly different: Have you ever tried to repair an old gramophone? We have an old traveling gramophone and I don't feel any "connection" to the main spring. Or rather more likely, the main spring is broken. Among other things. At all interested? Or if you could point me to someone with the know how? Greetings from Sweden!
Hi. I want to send you a watch for repairs. how do i do?
Richard i need your help with a Swiss Mondaine tourbilhon, i would like do send to you for a revision and install a Blue double dome Saphira Cristal Visor. I live in Brasil. Thank you for your attention.
Hi LUIZ... If you like you can sent the details via this. www.richardperrett.com/contact/... Richard

Why do I have the feeling this is either a parody of the reaction videos or a attempt to fit in with trends
How much do I love this channel? I love this channel big time!!! (...see what I did there?) 😁
This editing style does not suit you, you’re not a teenager
