One of my favorite things about Rio is--despite his placements and stature--he still feels hella local in the way that he talks to his fans about things like this
This is a comforting view of AI. I wanna be a music artist and just make music, so it is comforting to hear you think it won't completely ruin everyone's jobs.
Really interesting take. My biggest worry is the people in the music business who don’t care as much about the ethics and the art are the people who will be abusing ai the most. But that photography vs hyper realism point really got me to start thinking about the possible positives and how it could push art forwards too.
The the fact it will push the sound to evolve is dope and we producers have to remember that the only way AI can overtake the industry is if we let it, we all just gotta be creative like you said and make beats in ways that AI can’t replicate
Ppl were saying art was gon b one of the hardest shit to replicate, and it was the first thing to replicate. It’s growing at an insane pace, something insanely new to b able to tell its repercussions or where it’s headed only time will tell. As someone who’s trynna make it, it’s not lookin good
i think major labels will take all acapellas they have in vault and train them to make unlimited songs, i think that might be big game changer for the future
i started producing late 90s and did rock and metal wich was really hard to do and popularity was big time. then tools popped off to produce electronic music and everybody started doing rap and edm stuff wich became super pop because labels could produce it 10x faster. now the next step is coming and i truely think that only the best will survive the jump in needed quality output to stay in competition besides all the kids programming whatever they want. its gonna be ruff for a lot of artists that surfed a rather "easy" wave
Agreed. Also, I feel like people throw the word a.i. too much not knowing it's just new types of tech and very advanced software. The term a.i. has been sensationalised by media
One thing that gives me hope is that music is hard to objectively judge, so AI cant per se learn what a "good melody" is because there is simply no system to behind which melodies are good and which arent, different to graphical art where you can analyse much better what is optically appealing (color theory and composition and that kinda stuff). Of course feeding an AI music theory will eventually improve its creations but even the best eductated composers in this world dont have a guaranteed formula for making great music just by knowing the theory. At the end of the day music is just a feeling transmitted by the artist.
i think there's going to be new tech that keeps songs out datasets to be trained on, whether it be some type of new file or if we learn how to make generators forget what they have been trained on(it cant do that yet). The result imo will be a split of communities in which in which some prompt and listen and others listen to artists. Hopefully, artists are compensated for their work being trained on tho.
AI will create a wave of pseudo artists who will take a reference profile of their voice layered onto other peoples reference material to create “cover” albums without effort. This is just how it is now - but as it advances, the complexity will as well. This will extend past covers. People with no talent will be able to select their talents from a list, and in some ways that is very defeating to those who worked for years to get to where they are. I personally believe some people will start turning their backs on modern tech soon.
Rio Leyva Is A.I and all us producers who do electronic music. Look at it we use electronic music that use software. We don't use hardware or organic sounds. We all use these programs that continue to elevate and whoever gets to it first wins
I dont see how this will hurt musicians. If anything i believe that we as musicians are getting even better cause being the rise of competition. We all know ai is pretty decent at imitating, what ai cant do is be creative and actually create stuff that hasnt been done before.
Using seperate forms of AI, it could absolutely be created completely with no human skill. ChatGPT can write a song, there is AI now that can make beats, then you can use AI to finish the song with the voices you choose
[DISCLAIMER MY ENGLISH SUCKS NUT] RIo what i really want to say about you that you are really open-minded and u can adapt to new ideas or enviorments. That really proves that u are a intelligent person and u inspire me a lot. I watch your videos and I wanna be an outstanding artist, who wants to absorb all trends and developments to create my own way of expressing my feelings and thougts. I respect you and I hope someday I will shake my hand with you cause all of that respect. Have a great day for you and all viewers, peace!
Its kinda of a cycle I mean like that old producers used to cry about new generation of producers that they don't even know how to play Instruments, using daws like FL Now its time for this generation to cry about AI stuff and etc There are always be people unhappy with smth, complaining etc
3:10 i don't think people looking for type beats care about this, at all. I don't think many of the people actually making the type beats put their emotions into it, either.
yea that’s true for some people for sure. i’m confident that there will always be an audience for genuine music that people put effort and emotion into tho
One of my favorite things about Rio is--despite his placements and stature--he still feels hella local in the way that he talks to his fans about things like this
Great take on it!
I have no interest in listening to ai music
There’ll come a time where u won’t b able to tell if ur not told
Rio need a Ted talk 😂

Why "it's not good for those who trying to make it"?
I think that there will be producers who will search exactly for people creations, not AI stuff
i think major labels will take all acapellas they have in vault and train them to make unlimited songs, i think that might be big game changer for the future
the thing you said about showing ur personality as a producer made a lot of sense. i fw these discussion videos so cool.
Love the consistency Rio, great points on this!!
Photography analogy was good af ngl. Ai kinda has me pessimistic abt producing but these were some good points
So interesting talk, nice perspective

2:34 one of the reaons i'm looking for a job. AI beats will be super dope sounding within a year or two, i'd bet my entire life savings on it.
AI will be a tool for sure to get the creative juices flowing
your hoodie is crazzz 🤣

selling people anxiety is hella popular right now
nice video man thanks for this
I think anything digital in music AI will replicate so well you couldn't tell the difference. Real sounds or instruments AI would have a hard time
Bro the Juice WRLD ai stuff I heard lately is craaaazzyyy, but it's nice to know that it takes a lot of human effort behind it at least at this point.
I bet Rio is secretly a robot
W optimistic rio
Man speaking straight up fax
people won't want to listen to ai generated music. my guess is it'll help, it could generate sounds. generate serum sounds. generate melodies etc. at

It wont ruin artistic music, just the cheap MCbeats that kids eat up because they dont care nor know better
Rio to the rescue
we need to find Neo

Rio the thinker
real music will always be real

Bruh is that Chris brown???
What is on his hoodie?
AI is only for the kids you’ll grow out of it and want some sort of human connection / interaction
people said that about computers
rioooo
no drakes producer, they wont go crazy but they might be good to make remasters for songs that we don't have
more AI vids!
A.I WILL RUIN MUSIC
make a beat with an AI pickle
Haven’t heard any ai vocals that sound good. Simple as that
I hate AI fr
I mean, it makes ruined music
🫡🫡🫡🫡
I think you should legally be able to copyright your own voice
