I like how you actually hear from Bun E. in this one. And, I like how they said that he's one of the best in rock... Totally true. Not showy or anything like that, but such a rock-solid drummer.
14:30 into the video Tom says: how did I become quiet and how did he become zany? Rick then says: I have a bigger mouth and I interrupt him..then Tom says: MY MOUTH IS BIGGER?????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EXCUSE ME?? TMI...!!!!!!!! Then look at the look TOM gives the interviewer with his mouth WIDE OPEN!!!!!!!!!!!!! DAMN!!!!!
The funniest CT interview yet, Bun E is hilarious, still the GOAT drummer! Had the honor of meeting him when I was 14y and it paved the way for me as a drummer.
These interviewers are such jerks. Just talk to the guys about the show and that’s that. They guys handled well but it was just ridiculous. Cheap Trick-Amazing musicians that work great together. Rick writes most of the songs and is a fantastic guitar player. Rick has two, four and even five neck guitars. Robin Zander is a great singer and it’s not about his looks (although he does look good, but they all do in their own way) he’s a great guitarist as well. Tom Petersson is s great Bass player and it’s said that he made the first twelve String Bass, besides that he is always having fun. Bun E. Carlos (Carlson) is from South America and is very good on Drums and has played with a lot of great musicians. They are a tight band, they’re unique and extremely underrated. Go listen to all the cool and unusual songs they sing and you’ll get a little bit of everything. Once of the greatest bands in the world. There will never be another ‘Cheap Trick’.
Awesome, THANK YOU whoever is behind this MASS upload of GREAT Cheap Trick tapes. I don't think ANY band does this. it's just amazing that some of these performances have survived all these years and in such great shape.
at 1:21 behind the kid is a copy of the cars Candy-O. Oh i wish i were alive back then so i could buy a cheap trick and cars record from the same place!
13:45 into this when the lady is interviewing Tom and Rick, she asked: Where do u get the energy from?" Tom says: My adgreline builds up right b-4 the show...and he's laughing when he says it!!!!!!!! DAMN!!!!!!!!!! WAY TO GO TOM!!!!!!!!!!!
. Saw them in Poughkeepsie ny in 1986 at "The Chance" theater. Small ,beautiful place. they killed. Todd Rundgren came out at the end and they did Beatles cover. Cant remember what one.
What's awesome about the boys is this--they keep pumping out the product. RUclips has allowed all this amazing stuff to come to light. The old interviews, the obscure clips, outtakes, amazing concert footage. Hey, if this band doesn't make it into the RRHOF, I'll be a monkey's uncle!
Thanks for totally missing my point. I love Cheap Trick. What I was saying is a joke is these wankers calling Cheap Trick a "new" act when they had been around for years at this point.
well, why they have the record sales and the songs to make it,but don't hold your breath, none of them ever said some blanket political statement, their neither southern or black, or where ever hippy's which is a shame because if you listen to the music along with a lot of english sixties bands influence, you definitely hear some honest to good 50's rock influences, without sounding overly deriavitive.
In terms of "new", people forget that Dream Police was their first (and probably only) Top 10 album. And their first song video. If they had not completely fluked the whole Budokan thing, Cheap Trick would likely have remained a tiny cult band doing 200-500 seat bars.
rick is soo loud he trumps tom off by light years, i honestly think with the amount of ignorance tom faced in the band he should have just quit and found better mates to hang out with.
He did quit and came back after 7 years. He probably likes not having to answer same questions day after day. That’s where Rick’s antics keeps them going.
What are You talking about? Cheap Trick is one of the best bands ever from the USA. How can you call them a joke? between 75 and 83 for straight rock n roll they were one of the best! Topped only by Australia's AC/DC with BON SCOTT! Metal is a different story as well as POP. But cheap Trick blew away bands in their league like Queen,Styx,Kansas, even Kieth Richards said he loved Cheap Trick.

Holy sweet JESUS can Robin get any more gorgeous
forreal
He is humble, because buddy your hair is gorgeous. So is the man it is attached to.
Bun E. is the cheeseburger eating casual cool one
I love these old videos. Makes me fall in love with Cheap Trick all over again.
Thanks for posting!

I love how the older classical fan is the most enthusiastic of the bunch.
When he's talking about make up and ten million dollar laser lights is he talking about KISS?

The way his hair moves at the slightest movement...
Good interview but wish Tom had more of a say, he's got a great smile.
I always said. Tom smile could bring about the world piece. 😊
Rick is the king of Dad Jokes...bordering on a bit pervy. Go Rick Go.
Rick cracks me up but damn it must be hard to interview him. Never gives a straight answer…love him!
A truly fantastic rock band!
Rick's sweater is their setlist!
Yea , their whole setlist is printed right on the back of Rick's sweater !!! Lol

Delightful close up and personal with all the members of CT. Thanks heaps.
Reminds me of my teen years. Rick was and is the greatest
"whistle for your pigs"!! Rick is a hoot!
0:04 *standing infront of possibly hundreds of "dream police" records*
*claps eyes on Tom* Oh lordy 😍

I was there, too. Todd came on stage for 'Heavens Falling' & 'Day Tripper'
Tom is.....someone I would love to interview.
My God. We were all young once

They really did in 2016! Good on you for your intuition.

Bun E. is the coolest in the band.

"Here's Hello Kitties and Ready To Rock!"
Don't you enjoy media people that don't know their facts?
Hell , yes !! A " new " act ? Don't make laugh , those guys had already been around for sometime before they released their first album !!!
I like how they had a little encouragement before the second interview. Vitamins too maybe.
This guy made a living as an interviewer?
What energy, very compelling...
El pelado es súper gracioso jajajaja con su truco de embocar en su boca esa cosa jajaja
Totally digging ricks dream
Police sweater, awesome!
Dream Police. They never topped it.
7:29 Did I hear Tom in the background?

Rick drives me crazy. He talks to much!!!!

Hottest NEW acts? What a joke.
rick is soo loud he trumps tom off by light years, i honestly think with the amount of ignorance tom faced in the band he should have just quit and found better mates to hang out with.
The irony of you using the word ignorance.

Because those other bands had absolutely no Power Pop R'n'R smarts unlike Cheap Trick.
Lead me tho the comment that called them a joke
OMG! Tracey! I SO had a crush on her back in the day!
I saw one of these Auckland gigs...brilliant!
