Wait Malcolm has 2 power doesnt he? How comes when shane attacked with double striking seedborn he went up to 16 and one malcolm attack took him back down to 12?
Really loving the addition of closed caption for this video! As a non-primary English speaker it makes everything nicer since I can focus on the game and not stuck at trying to capture the narration. Will this be permanent going onward or this is just a one off thing?
While I can definitely see how this can help, and I congratulate you for the effort, I should point out that, as a non-native speaker myself (and in fact, someone who doesn't live in an English-speaking country), I can understand you perfectly well almost all the time. The narration is clean and easy to follow. Keep it up!
Cool side note, if Shaun's life total was smaller or Cal had more life, Cal would be left alive after the combo, Since Glint-Horn/Malcom is mana negative with only two players. Don't know what cards he had in hand, but it's a tangent that has saved me before.
next time make sure the glinthorn and malcolm combo player has enough cards in his deck to actually kill everyone. normally its not even a question, but he used tainted pact and ad nauseum in the same game so its possible he wont have enough cards unless he has an eldrazi recycle type of effect.
Just a quick question. Cal ends with 33 life, Noah 26 and Shaun 9. What's the maximum life range one can beat with glinthorn/malcolm ? In my understanding as long as two opponents are alive you can loop, and if there's a third one you net mana. So here after the 9th ping, Shaun is dead, Noah is at 17 and Cal at 24. Does it work because the life total of Shaun is higher than the difference between Cal and Noah ? Sorry, I'm really bad at math :) Other than that, I burst out laughing on that cyclo rift after the stack battle, that was really intense! Great game and great video!
Malcolm math is a bit confusing when first looking at it. Starting from 0 treasures: Kill Shaun: 27 treasures generated, 18 used (9 left over). Now Noah is at 17 and Cal at 24. Kill Noah: 34 treasures generated, 34 used (still 9 left over). Now Cal is at 7. Kill Cal: 7 treasures generated, (2 left over). You still create treasures when you ping Cal, so you only need to use 1 of your remaining treasures for each iteration. I hope this helps!
@@PlayingWithPowerMTG It does help! Indeed you keep generating one treasure on the last opponent, yet you need two mana for each ping, so if say Cal had been at 20health, he would have survived wouldn't he ?
I think that cyclonic rift after ad nauseam was a big mistake. Zain drew tons of mana positive artifact and rituals, both malcolm players had to rebuild board state and noah was tapped out. I mean, at least wait for Zain turn to cast C-Rift .. I know that after the game is easier to “judge” someone else, but it seemed an not that great plays to me the second after i saw cyclonic on the screen.
There were a bunch of misplays in this game. Using removal and interaction on stuff that didn't really matter too much. And then I'm pretty sure the Bruse Thrasios player missed a winning line and also messed up their sequencing on the final turn.
@@spielrahoo I would have used crop rotation a lot earlier to get cradle and use it to push you further ahead of the table with seedborn. It would have gave you the resources to push out a win after the cyc rift resolved and maybe even before that. Your board was lined up to for the spellseeker Snap cradle combo. Using something like your worldly tutor to find seeker. I also wouldn't have used swords on rig crew and possibly would have considered saving my delay. Creature removal is something I rank at a premium especially in tables with Malcolm where ideally you use it on glint horn or on krark in response to sakashima. Edit: checked your list and didn't see Snap in it so disregard that bit.
@@Joolenplus I suspect you are right about the Crop Rotation, that likely would have been a better use of it. The Swords play was to keep Zain from generating 3 treasures a turn. Given that keeping him off mana had been effective up to that point, I think it was the right play to keep denying him mana. The Delay on Mystic Remora is a judgement call that I also questioned when I first watched this. It has been long enough since we recorded this game that I cannot recall exactly what my mindset was or the exact makeup of my hand at that point. so it might ultimately have been right or wrong. Thanks for the feedback. Always happy to have a respectful discussion on gameplay.
When Shaun cast force of vigor, was there some benefit to waiting till Zain untaps? Why not just do it before passing the turn? Was he just trying to bait the counter so he could play veil?
Me still wondering why Zain didn't get 3 treasures when his Lightning-rig crew dealt damage to everyone 🤔 Sure it got exiled but the damage still resolves even if the creature is gone
Malcolm was on the stack and not on the field yet. He was tapping the rig to get an extra ping in before the rig's trigger resolves to untap it because he cast a pirate.
It didn't matter. Zains hand size was so large he could have tutored for LED and killed everyone. Or probably could have just discarded to hand size and Glint kills everyone regardless.
I would love to see more mana and land destruction in CEDH. It's CEDH. Nuff said. If destroying someone's special land, or mana rock, gives you that much value then you should 100% do it. Rule 0 should include the question "Are we playing CEDH" and if the answer is yes to any degree then it should just be understood that every player is going to be doing their hardest to assure victory.
Shaun would die after 9 activations which could leave Cal at 23 and Zain at 15.then once Shaun dies Malcolm makes 2 treasures instead of 3 because you cant damage a dead opponent. So then Zain dies and Cal still would've had 8 life according to life counters
But you still create a treasure with each subsequent ping against Cal, so you only need that many surplus treasures to kill Cal. Zain had 9 surplus treasures after killing Noah and Shaun, so it was enough to kill Cal.

I might not have been alive to see 300 Spartans stand against the Persians but I was here to bear witness to Zain and Shaun’s epic stack battle.
The ending to this one was absolutely WILD. This is why I love PWP.
the funniest part is how zain had the glinthorn in his hand the entire time
Zain asked them if they wanted to help at all. Both shrug and say they didnt wana take away his glory.
😂😂😂😂😂 this is why I love PWP
With that hand, thought this was going to be a double feature with 2 quick games. What a match
In the end Shaun fought so hard... and got so far, but in the end it didn't even matter.
Underrated comment
When you said on Twitter that this was one of the most epic games you've ever recorded you were spot on!
What an absolutely incredible come from behind victory. This was a WILD one! Absolutely love you guys
I thought all game "Man they are really picking on Zain, other people have much better board states". now I don't feel so bad. LOL
I loved rigging crew Malcolm idea that couldn't stick around lol
That’s just Malcolm for you
You guys and play to win are the top form of quality cedh content
Thanks!
100%
Just switched over to playing both of these Malcolm pairings (got bored of T&T), so this was very nice game to see! Great ending! 💪🏻
Glad you enjoyed it!
Now that's what we call a stack! This was so entertaining. Thank you for the awesome content as usual!
Man everybody is on the krark/sakashima train, I love it.
That was a THICK stack at the end 😂😂😂
The end of that game was INSANE
Thats cedh! Fantastic gameplay and edition, congrats.
This game was sick guys! Perfect example of why this is the best way to play edh
Yooooo a new sponsor!!!!! Pog
what a intense stack war, love to see
What a game! The only thing I didn't like was Shaun rolling the dice over those expensive mana crypt and mox diamond foils :D
Absolute insane stack battle in the final turn
7:58 Foil Crop Rotation 🤤🤤🤤
@@yanjia1777 I almost reported your comment for such an awful opinion
What exactly was the plan with the crop rotation? Just get enough mana to pay for dockside?
Shaun here. I was going to try to win on top of Zain at instant speed, but I had to burn too much mana interacting and ran out of gas.
Love the videos! I'm building Krark/Sakashima now so this hit at the perfect time!

Had the same thought. I think if he swings everything at Cal it's a win, but not based on what we're seeing on board.
With 2 players glinthorn is mana neutral no? It’s 1R to activate so it’s only negative against one opponent
@@fosterdawson7339 Slightly confusion. Two players is mana negative. Two opponents is neutral.

Where did Zain get that sweet playmat from?!
Have you ever done any mono colores commander challenges? Like an episode where each player only has access to the single color of their choice?

What a great display of MVS
I find it frustrating when people king make. Noah playing cyclonic rift after that ad naus play handed the win over. Such bad timing
Seems a valid play compared to letting Shaun's Seedborn & Thrasios value engine keep going

How come Deep Gnome Terramancer isn't showing up in any of these lists?
Did Zane have enough cards in the deck to deal 30dmg? Considering he had an Ad naus that was almost 30 cards deep in itself.
Did cal missed like 20remors triggers at the end? Or he just didnt draw nothing?
What, is this the Month of Krark or something? Feel like he has been in every episode recently.
