I know Jensen will never see this and Michael probably won’t either but while Supernatural might not have been curing cancer they got me through post natal depression and suicidal moments. That show helped distract me, comfort me and let me laugh and cry when I needed too. I will be forever thankful to the cast and crew of that show and now I’m rewatching it with my daughter who was born the same year as the show. So thank you again for giving us something else to bond, cry, laugh and overanalyse over! I’m not sure where I would be without this show. So please know it may just have been a TV show but it was a lifeline to me. Edit: thank you to everyone who has replied and shared their love for this show. I’m so glad it means as much to others as it does me. I’m thankful you reached out and that you are here as well no matter what you have been dealing with. You are important, you matter and I’m thankful for you. Michael thank you for this show it also means a lot to hear these stories from some of my favourite actors.
This is so close to my story, down to having a child born the same year but my child’s a boy. It’s crazy to think that a show can affect people so much but it’s good that it does. Anything that can give people hope or even like in my case that I had to keep going to see what happens next is the true test of a great show. It will always hold a place in my heart.
It was for me too.. I hope your feeling better... Now I just constantly dream about Jensen sometimes Jared n sometimes Jensen's wife... I rewatch over n over n over.. greatest supernatural show ever
My son was born about a month before the show started and I remember watching it while holding him and he just finished the entire series a week ago and loved it just as much as me, that show made me laugh and cry when I needed and helped me escape alot of tough moments in my life also and it was bittersweet watching it end, loved that show and the entire cast and crew so much!!
To Jensens point about “making a TV show not curing cancer”: I watched SPN while I was fighting cancer and it was immensely comforting to have a show that was both safe/familiar but also so very rewatchable. Thank you for carrying the perspective that while the work might not tangibly change the world, your work can change the worlds of your audience in ways that can’t be articulated. Love ya Dean, stay golden.
God bless you!!!!! Supernatural... damn... there simply will never be another show quite like it, with such a great fan base... it's something that can never be recreated. Definitely will show it to my children when they're old enough to truly comprehend it.
I actually teared up when Jensen said that they might not cure cancer but he's arguing that someone with cancer is in a hospital right now watching a show that's making them laugh. Because I was that person. I started a Supernatural rewatch during active treatment. It sure helped a lot.
So sad hearing Jen talk about 'Rust' after it's been cancelled and all of the tragic circumstances surrounding that set, I'm so glad he's safe and home but I hate that he had to experiences all of that first hand.
Jensen, Danneel, and Misha shooting a podcast together and NEVER releasing it is some kind of crime against humanity. I hope the three of them do some grand project together sometime. I love hearing Jensen have these conversations and the atmosphere you have!
Shame that it didn't get to releasing but since January 24, 2021 another Supernatural rewatch podcast "Supernatural Then And Now" hostet by Richard Speight Jr. and Rob Benedict and the first two episodes were done with Jensen & Jared. It's fun to listening!
Seasons 1 - 5 was essentially a complete series with a beginning, middle and end. You had an origin story, character development, and a satisfying conclusion. That's how long Eric Kripke envisoned it go on for. Season 6 onwards is still an entertaining show and I'm glad they kept going but for me the season 5 ending is the series finale. The ending is just perfect with Sam sacrificing himself to save everyone and Dean getting to live on with a family.
It was supposed to end at Season 5, part of me kind of wishes that it had! Don’t get me wrong…I’m grateful for another 10 seasons with the boys but 1-5 were so beautifully done had a sense of finality to it.
@@ARBLACKx Yeah, for me the first 5 seasons is perfect. After that is entertainment for sure but it´s not the same! I also like to watch the first 2 seasons. It´s magical!
I refuse to watch the rest of the series after season 5. In fact as soon as Dean goes into Lisa's and they plan to the street light I turn it off because that's how it was supposed to end.
Yeah everythingafter season 5 is like a daytime soap. Only so many apocalypses and times you can be resurrected before the show loses its charm. I did enjoy his final death though. Wasnt some big end of the world job. It was just a nest. No angels to heal no devils for deals juat a guy dying saving an innocent from a vampire. After that scene though the episode mostly sucked. It looked cheaply made with theold sam look and the green screens and all that. Pandemic ruined what couls have been a true great end.
Rosenbaum is the best Lex in any medium. He did something with that character that even the comics couldn't do. He tricked you into caring about him. His Lex made you want to give him a second chance. It's that charisma that is a key element to Lex's character in the comics but Rosenbaum is the only person to ever reveal that so well.
Jensen seems to be one of the coolest, down to earth, easily relatable mega stars that you could have a beer with and watch a football game! Dude is so chill! Still not happy how they did my boy Dean, and he'll always be a Winchester to me....but I am 1000000% stoked to see him in The Boys! My teenage boys and I started watching just because I heard Jensen was going to be on season 3 and we're so glad we did! #spnforever
I'm not gonna pretend to know anything about Jensen on a deeper level than what he shares with us, but listening and laughing along with this interview feels like laughing with a good friend
I can tell you Supernatural has gotten me through the roughest days. Not curing cancer, but has brought a great fandom together with so much love. Looking forward to watch Jensen and the family in everything they do ❤
Agreed. Many episodes. Many moments. Many.. they just brought a simple catharsis to moments and travails in life, as is. The #supernatural fam is a special one! ❤️
The fact that he talked about DARK ANGEL made my day! Love hearing he had a brotherly relationship with Jessica! I always thought it was like that! I really hope they would made some sort of reunion interview...
Jensen talking about Supernaturals effect on its fans "not curing cancer/ still providing something powerful to it's fans... I didn't watch the show for the first few years, but my Mom was obsessed since day 1. It had all of her favorite things and she was older, not in my the best health and had a handful of things that really brought her happiness. There was many times that you would call after the show just to kind of talk about it but somebody for a few minutes even though I had no idea what was going on and she knew that. We were not at all close as I grew up and the show started when I was 25 years old and still a few years away from us really mending our relationship. That phone call with her after episode where it is revealed that Castiel is an angel, is one that will be forever forged in my mind because she just thought it was the coolest plot twist. My mom passed away in 2021 in mid december. I had a few personal days and the holidays /office being closed benefit that I was able to luckily have a 3 week time off that was halfway paid for and void of any of the usual hustle and bustle of the season. 3 days after I said goodbye and after 3 sleepless nights, I powered up my shitty laptop and logged into Netflix to find something to help me avoid everything. Supernatural had just started streaming on Netflix that year and was up to season 7. I watched every episode available in those 3 weeks off and never felt closer to my mom. It makes me weirdly proud that the main guys all seem like great people and obviously love each other. I love that show.
I've been watching this show for half my life, I kept holding off to watch the last season. I finally started it early December.. December 9 December 9 2021 is the day "God" predicted dean & Sam to die. .. soon after my dad got really sick & ended up in the hospital. This show really helped me while he was in the hospital.. I watched the final episode & the next day I had to say goodbye to my dad before he was intubated. While we had our goodbye talk I told him it's ok dad.. I felt like I was Sam saying goodbye to Dean. He passed away 1.7.22. Again I said it's ok dad. It's ok to let go. Me & my brother had talked about doing a Dean & Sam road trip. We had to drive 6 hrs to see our dad at the hospital. I felt like we were supposed to do this trip to try to save our dad... This show has always been so sentimental to me. & now I know why. Much love & light to you. 🙏🏽
@@felishad888 I am so sorry to hear of your dad's recent passing. I'm so glad you guys were able to get to him one last time to visit and thank you so much for sharing your story because it was beautiful. I had a very similar goodbye with my mom. We are some of the lucky ones that got that opportunity beforehand to say what we need to say, hear what we need to hear and be there. Growing up I had the rockiest relationship with my mom out of all my siblings but I was the only one who was able to have that priceless and important last goodbye. Strangely enough there's a weird coincidence with my mom's date of death as well. I don't know if you ever heard of the Mayan calendar and the whole theory that the world was supposed to end on December 21st, 2012. It was a silly thing that my mom joked about all of the time for the last year of her life. Just silly things like "I'm going to save a ton of money this year not buying Christmas presents since the world's ending" and we all told her how corny her jokes were so she kept them coming all of the time. And of course that was the day she passed away. I hope the rest of this year brings you nothing but healing and happiness.
I feel like Jessica and Jensen's relationship are just like Max and Alec on the show. They bicker like crazy on the show so that was probably their real life relationship seeping onto their chracters as well haha... plus they still have each other's back when the time comes so.... i'm glad they're good friends now. he even wished her happy 40th on her recent birthday!
Jensen was talking about how he got to say, "I'm Batman," but I remember he got to say that earlier. There was a Supernatural episode where the brothers were trying to deal with a cursed rabbit foot. Sam was tied up, Dean barges in and because he had the rabbit's foot, he took out these two guys, looked at Sam and said, "I'm Batman." To which Sam replied, "Yeah... you're Batman..."
Supernatural and Smallville were the first series I've watched. I was 15 years old in 2006. I was diagnosed with cancer and I've binged watched both series before the word binge-watch existed. I bought the DVDs. So yeah, Jensen's totally right. These two series helped me through those times.
It is hard to know and see how excited Jensen was for that Western. We in the fandom know how much that was a dream of his, like the Batman. So, for it to have such a tragic end hurts us for him. Good, though, to hear all his memories and inside feelings from his career.
I actually despised Soldier Boy, having no idea who the actor was. THEN I watched Supernatural and realized that was just his voice. I love you Jensen!
He's such a beautiful human being, I have so much respect for him and the way he conducts himself. Thanks for having him on again, Michael!! Jensen's always got good stories to tell! Loved hearing more about Dark Angel. It was one of my favourite shows back in the day.
Makes me so sad to see/hear him talk about Rust. He was so visibly excited to be working on that set and with Alec. Thanks for an awesome interview…I could have sat through another full hour!
I'm confused on how this interview was in Jan of 2022 but the Rust accident happened in Oct of 2021, and Jensen talks about it like they hadnt even started filming?
Jensen mentioned my favorite aspect of Supernatural, which was that it wasn't bound by any rules. It was a show where anything could happen, and anything and everything, did happen. lol I'm really enjoying this.
This was perfect. The part with Dark Angel oh man I'm so happy we got to know more about his relationship with Jessica Alba. Jensen is so honest. It is soooo refreshing to listen to him. Michael is so good in asking the RIGHT questions. Respect for both men.
What an amaaaazing conversation. That´s what happened when the interviewer is, above all, respectful with the guests and knows how to make them comfortable. And being friends, even better. And Jensen is the kind of person I would listen all day long without getting tired. His way of telling stories, his sincerity, commitment and respect for work and people, and above all, very down to earth. Hope he be invited again to a "Part II". Thank you all for this. Hugs from SP, Brazil
When Jensen answered the question about experiencing supernatural I can’t help and laugh and think to myself I bet a lot of others who watched the show for 15 years feel the same like they have all this knowledge and training lol. 😂
Dean Winchester. Helped me overcome heroin. I was hooked for a good part of the show. My daughter found me overdosed on the floor. At 3 years old. My ex wife left me. I didn't see my daughter again for 2 years 34 days. Six hours and 34 minutes. I got clean. Around 2013. It was the hardest thing ive ever done. Supernatural. Taught me the raw power of grit and determination. It taught me loss is life. But family is life. It also taught me family isn't always blood. I fought. I bled. I had pains in my bones that made me cry while my friend dabbed my head with a cool cloth. Then one day. It was over. The nightmare wasn't complete. But the withdrawal stopped. I made it. I was on.." house arrest " until i could prove i wasn't going to go get heroin. So for 6 months. I waited. I watched netflix. DVDs. Etc etc. Supernatural was very present. It helped me. And a weird thing started happening. I'm not religious. I'm not saying god did this. Every time i was at my breaking point. Or a tradgedy. A temptation. Somewhere. Somehow. " carry on my wayward son" would play on radio. Ads. Tv. Someone's ringtone. For YEARS. This happened. Still. Occasionally. It happens. My mom died in August of 2019. Driving home. My new wife. Turned on the radio. While our new daughter fell asleep in her carseat. The song played again. It's like. Somewhere somehow Someone's telling me to carry on. I always will. Someday there will be peace. So. Micheal. Jensen. Jared. Anyone on that show. Your work matters. More than you can possibly imagine.
I'm glad you're still here and you made it through and are clean. And so you know, that IS God. He does things like that for us to get us through and sends messages, if we only are listening. He loves you, that is why Jesus died on the cross for each of us. It's not about religion, it's about relationship with the One Who made us and loves us, just like you clearly love your daughtets and counted to the second you were apart, He does the same. He wants us to come home to Him too. We are the wayward son. Bless you, friend.
I truly believe that is god doing that, while you may not see it he still loves you even if you don’t. If you seek him truly with an open heart even if you might not really believe you will find him, because he is always ready to reveal himself, but that is if you truly want to. Don’t let anyone force it upon you. Anyways, I’m glad to hear you are doing better and congrats on your sobriety. I actually just started watching supernatural and there is SO many things that happen😂
Amen. The interesting thing is there are plenty of things in SPN that are technically quite blasphemous, but even I got a lot of healing from the show. It’s because for me, it’s really is just about the family stuff and the general actions of keep fighting and loving and giving, serving others.
Thank you for this. To have Jensen discuss Dark Angel after all this time made me so happy. To this day, Alec remains my favorite character of Jensen’s.
Came in for Jensen. For the second time. You guys never disappoint. Let's keep this podcast going on strong! I like that this feels like a space where fame and creativity merge into an honest atmosphere of dialogue, with good insight into several aspects of "the biz".
Jensen Ackles! I love this guy. So much. I remember a Con, where my friend and I didn’t get into the line, due to some issues with scheduling. As they all walked out, Jensen was the one to turn and recant our “I love you, Jensen!” with his own, “I love you guys! Thanks for being Dean fans!” #deanwinchesterforever ❤️ Thanks for always giving us these needed Tuesdays, Rosey. Because of you, your pods and vids, and wonderful way, I’ve been seeing a therapist now for 6 months. Game changer. Much love and many thanks, #roseytheking
That was amazing! Jensen looks so easy to talk to. He's confident but not over confident, polite but still knows how to have fun, respectful and dislikes drama - he's one of my favorite celebrities. You can tell he really values life and wants to make the most of it, and treasures all of the experiences he's been able to learn from and the relationships he's made. And so much detail was covered! This was a really fun watch.
I have seen several episodes of your podcast and I enjoy it. It's less an interview and more of a conversation and I like that format. It feels more real.
Just finished Supernatural last night. I was 13 years old when that show premiered. I’m now a 30 year old man. It got me through everything. Death, break ups, loss… it’s always been there. Smallville, too. Thank you to you both. You maybe didn’t know it, but you helped save my life. ❤️
@@Jealod24 maybe invest in not just assuming that someone don't have friends. you think its tough to say it but it don't make sense because you don't know the person you're talking to. learn to talk banter or shut up haha
I thought I can't love Jensen more. Well..I was wrong! ❤️ Thank you Michael this episode with him! This is a treasure! I could have listen this for many more hours!
Jensen and Jared were my go to when I was in Afghanistan. Season 4 supernatural every night at 6 pm me and my best friend watched season 4 and then every season after that so thanx for being such a good ass show and kept me grounded
Love hearing him talk, he's so funny and free to just be him. He's also such a man like Dean, lol, I laughed when he talked about if something supernatural were to come into his house, he would kick its ass for sure. Supernatural started when I was 10 and I watched the finale when I was 25. 15 years later! Crazy.
Jensen is such an amazing actor with exceptional range. Campy as it is, there are some scenes in Supernatural where he just acts the absolute shit out of it (the episode where Dean loses his memory is one that stands out to me. He conveys so much just with his eyes.) I really want to see him in more things and hope to see him as a movie leading man soon.
@@Shasha-jo5iv ooh then I hoped you got to see what he was able to do with the Soldier Boy role. Man he acted the HELL outta that part! He is one talented man; the range on this guy!
Great interview. I could go on and on about Supernatural. I've seen every episode and I miss it so much. When it premiered I was 24 years old getting ready to graduate college and when it ended I just turned 40. Supernatural means so much to me because the Winchesters were always there no matter what what going on in life, Sam and Dean would always have another adventure. Carry on, Jensen!
yeah, i agree. The actual time in purgatory depicted in actual screen time, i would have liked to have seen more. The same thing could be said about Deans time in Hell. I understand you have only a limited time to tell a story. This is why we most likely saw a shortened Dean as a Demon as well. Still a great show. Hindsight is always 20/20
No Jensen, you guys aren’t curing cancer but. You saved my life. When I got clean, every time I felt like couldn’t keep going. When I thought I was gonna die, the only thing I kept telling myself is “Sam and Dean wouldn’t give up” as crazy as it sounds, I truly don’t believe my sobriety would’ve been possible if I didn’t have my two hero’s to look up to and think “Dean got through hell, Sam got over demon blood, I could get through this” 😂
So happy for you beating your addiction. You never know what will help make you feel stronger. I think of the show when Im having a bad day at work (which can be really bad) and think how the Boys never gave up no matter how hopeless the situation. Their often said line, "We will find another way, we always do." runs through my head often.
@@pattieboy5861 thank you! It’s nice to know I’m not the only “crazy” one that finds there strength in fictional characters 😂 I met Jensen last week and wanted so badly to thank him for getting me through sobriety but didn’t know how to drop something so dramatic on a stranger in the few seconds I had ☹️ but hopefully they know how much they help so many of us get through our every day lives
Best thing ever! Crazy thing is that it was uploaded on my bday!! I think this a gift from the universe I swear. I love supernatural and have been rewatching it so many times. Its really that good.
Awesome interview Michael. I love your interviews because you and your guests are very casual and that often helps the back-and-forth conversation. Jensen Ackles seems to be living the dream, man. He is one talented, hard-working dude.
I grew up on smallville and supernatural. I’m a huge fan of yours Michael. And I’m a huge fan of Jensen ackles as well. I would love to meet you and Jensen some day. Much love and respect from Albany Kentucky.
Jensen Ackles is my favorite human being! Thank you for having him on your show again. That was the most revealing interview of Jensen I’ve ever seen! I’m so hyped! Thank you!
I'm so glad I found this. I'm a Smallville and Supernatural fan. This was so much fun to watch and listen to you, Michael, talk with Jensen. LOVED IT!!!
The moment when Jensen start talking about the movie Rust, it's horrible to see him so happy about the movie and he doesn't know yet what's going to happen on set.
Jenson would be a great Green Lantern Hal Jordan for DC-CW or DCEU or even HBO Max. He kinda looks like Hal as he appeared in the comics and he has the acting chops and the experience in the genre to really make it work and shine.
Sure he could do it but he is too old to be cast for any DCEU type show in that role if they are trying to do an origin and want them to be the character for at least the next 10-15 years.
Here for you, Michael. I do love Supernatural/Jensen but you’re the reason I’ve been listening since the beginning. Love the honesty and vulnerability. :)
Such a great episode. I like that Jensen didn't shy away from the Supernatural Prequel drama. It's different when you're able to talk these out with a friend who you trust isn't trying to get views. Also, being a different format than a fan convention when giving answers. Additionally, Its sad hearing about how excited Jensen was about Rust before he actually left to film and knowing about the tragedy that occurred on the set.
Rosey, I could totally listen to you and Jensen ALL DAY! When you have him on next year, I suggest a musical interlude 😍 Keep being awesome, all the love. Michelle
Totally agree with you there, some of the fandom wanted to hear nothing but the drama, whereas you could see why Jensen kept quiet about the project. Be great to see how it develops.
@@gemqueen1866 I'm so glad Jensen got to tell his part of the story. I still think those irrational fans will still say crap about Jensen. Reading some of those toxic comments directed at Jensen was so frustrating and sad to see!
Dark Angel was a fantastic show and the brother/sister relationship between Max and Alec was one of the best parts of it. How Jensen describes their off screen relationship is a lot like their characters. From what he's saying it sounds like a lot of the hostility was maybe coming from Jensen taking the shine away from Michael, her boyfriend at the time.
I loved that part of the interview! It really puts everything in perspective! And absolutely did Alec's arrival took the shine away from Logan. People were shipping Max/Alec like crazy back in the day!
I watched DA when it came out, had no idea who any of these actors were. But it was blindingly obvious that a) Weatherly was tough to work with and the writers factored that into what they gave him, including passive/aggressive digs at him, b) Logan/Max was so not working that they went to amazing lengths to not have the actors interact physically due to a ridiculous plot device (which made me think that it was something between these actors from RL they incorporated) and c) Max was incredibly vicious to Alec, way beyond ribbing - which made zero sense given how protective she was of *every single* other of her DNA-modified brothers/sisters and it was really jarring, made little sense character-wise. Which made me think, that either Alba hated the new guy, felt threatened because he was excellent actingwise and she feared being upstaged or it was something Weatherly demanded because he felt challenged. And Alec weirdly became ever more incompetent and weak from ep to ep. That billard challenge, where inexplicably *Logan* won against a superhuman with better senses, massively superior hand/eye-coordination and superior physicality. It was so preposterous! Turns out Alec won in the original script - Weatherly threw a tantrum until the outcome was changed in Logan's favor 🙄
@@Alex-vq9vj Max gave Alec the cold shoulder because he was a clone of her dead brother Ben who she loved. It hurt her to look at him. Also Alec was a real jack the lad.
@@umpus They were all clones, every single one of those kids. And Alec certainly wasn't more of a douche than Logan (who blackmailed her, frequently lied and changed goal posts on her, was petulant), herself and a host of other characters. The viciousness was way beyond those other interactions, even compared to some of those with outright villains like Leyendecker.
I like how Jensen keeps saying "this is no secret," like he's assuring himself that he's not breaching any confidentiality contracts (professional or personal).
This dude... makes me wanna get moving... he's always working always on the move... and I am a supernatural stan but im glad he is pretty much Dean in real life.
In grade 11, my friend group was divided into doctor who and supernatural fans. I knew I couldn’t get into dr who but i figured i could give supernatural a go. Seasons 1-5 was the great bonding experience between my high school best friend and I. I had a rough go in high school but I only remember sitting on the couch with my friend, witnessing the next great adventure of sam and dean.
LOL I love them both! I'm British so I grew up with Who, it's kind of a cultural institution... I'm glad you got to remember those good times with your high school friend, hope you're still pals!
I started watching this podcast because of the Supernatural cast. Especially Jensen. I fell inlove with the podcast and have been watching ever since. So today was a real treat ❤❤❤
the fact that he rectified the spinoff situation with jared IMMEDIATELY and handled it like an actual adult, speaks volumes to his character. Also, making my way though Marvel things atm, and I kind of love he is basically Knock off Captain America
Zachary Levi last week and Jensen Ackles this week?!? Great deep interviews back to back with interesting human beings. This podcast is currently my happy place!
Great interview...informative but also so chilled and relaxing to listen too. I love Jensen and love Michael. Will definitely listen to this again a few times.
I would just like to weigh in and say, that I would watch Jensen commenting on fan favorite episodes in whatever context he felt comfy producing that, any day of the week.
I watch for you Michael R. because you do so much for our mental health and for sure Jensen! Thanks always for all you do and for giving us a chance to listen to the insides of our favs.
Everyone knows and loves Jensen as Dean Winchester. To me, my favorite role of his will always be X5-494. What a great character; such a smart aleck he was lol. Dark Angel. What a great show.
Jensen is my celebrity crush and mostly because he's a great father and husband and a phenomenal actor who makes me laugh and cry and has gotten me through depression. He's the real deal!
This was a wonderful, enlightening , funny , intelligent conversation. Jensen opening up was fantastic to see and hear. Thank you Michael. Only criticism I have is you didn't ask him about his music. Possible concert show ect... But Other than that all the info is what I wanted to hear from him and was fantastic.
This is the best discovery I have ever made on RUclips. I had no idea this podcast existed, was looking for Supernatural clips. Reading the comments on this, I see how impactful the show was. It's one of those show...where it isn't just a show, it's bigger than that. For fourteen years I watched that show with my mom, it was one of those things we bonded over, we talked about it and when it was available to stream, we binge watch it. We were dedicated, we never miss an episode, stayed up late to binge... It's amazing this show....that was really about family and love, resonated with us the way it did. When the show ended we were both very upset but later on, it kind of dawned on us, it's probably how it had to end, we made peace with it. None of us wanted to see Dean die and that was the hardest part. My version of it was not the brothers would drive off into the sunset, the show would end but their fight would continue, a symbol of how the fight against darkness never really ends, we probably have our own version of the end. My mom passed away in January of this year...and I had one positive thought during it...it might seem silly but it was monumental to us. When life got tough, we escaped with Supernatural, when we were having rough days, either one of us, we put on our favorite episode. I'm glad she got to watch the end of the series. We cried so much when Dean died and we just hugged one another. I won't forget the special moments we got to share because of this amazing show called supernatural.
I could just listen to you talk all day. This was a great interview, great questions, I love that you are friends and it makes it all look and sound so easy (and casually comfortable) which most interviews do not have. Really fun with Jensen and the wide range of topics. Thank you so much.
Loved Episode!! I will say my mother suffered with Alzheimer's for years and while caring for her, I discovered Smallville and would plug in and watch and clean. And when she fell and never woke up years later, I recall sitting over Christmas in the hospital waiting for her to pass, that it was amazing to stumble on to a SPN episode! A little break from real life.
I'm glad you're still here and found something to comfort you during that time.
This is the story for so.many fans
Thanks for sharing :).
God bless you!!!!! Supernatural... damn... there simply will never be another show quite like it, with such a great fan base... it's something that can never be recreated. Definitely will show it to my children when they're old enough to truly comprehend it.
I remember Eric Kripke tweeted that his purpose in life was to make sure Jensen had work.
Same. I feel so bad. The way his eyes lit up talking about it.
It's so weird that this episode was filmed prior to everything happening on that film set. Pretty surreal.
In which moment he's talking about it ?
@@ashnaerfan4764 towards the end of the podcast. Michael even addresses it during the wrap up.
it's eerie too though bc he said his one superstition is not talking about projects 😳
Jensen, Danneel, and Misha shooting a podcast together and NEVER releasing it is some kind of crime against humanity. I hope the three of them do some grand project together sometime. I love hearing Jensen have these conversations and the atmosphere you have!
WORD!
I’m so sad we never got to see it. CW greedy af for that.
My thoughts exactly. That would've been so awesome to listen to :-(
Shame that it didn't get to releasing but since January 24, 2021 another Supernatural rewatch podcast "Supernatural Then And Now" hostet by Richard Speight Jr. and Rob Benedict and the first two episodes were done with Jensen & Jared. It's fun to listening!
@@Sylwinka1991 it's cool to listen to.
The first five seasons of Supernatural is some of the best television. The entire series is good overall but the first five seasons are excellent.
It's that charisma that is a key element to Lex's character in the comics but Rosenbaum is the only person to ever reveal that so well.
thanks Wil.
I agree. He makes me love Lex ❤
Agreed. JE was soooo miscast. MR would have been a great movie version.
You were the best lex also great channel already subscribed
Smallville was excellent but i missed him when he left, i think the show missed him too!
He is just so chill and down to earth and yet so talented. Cannot wait for The Boys!! RIP Halyna Hutchins.
When he mentioned the movie he was going to shoot that was all I could think of.

I loved Jensen as Dean Winchester and he killed it as Soldier Boy. One of my favorite actors. Love you too Michael, you’re my favorite Lex Luthor! ❤️
#spnforever
I think the Boys are too tough for boys.
I've often said, it's not that they killed Dean, it was how basic n banal on HOW he died. That's what ticked most fans of that camp off
I'm not gonna pretend to know anything about Jensen on a deeper level than what he shares with us, but listening and laughing along with this interview feels like laughing with a good friend
I was just thinking that. It’s not a parasocial relationship exactly, I just missed seeing him :)
I can tell you Supernatural has gotten me through the roughest days. Not curing cancer, but has brought a great fandom together with so much love. Looking forward to watch Jensen and the family in everything they do ❤
Same fam. Glad to see we got many on tge boat
Agreed. Many episodes. Many moments. Many.. they just brought a simple catharsis to moments and travails in life, as is. The #supernatural fam is a special one! ❤️
Damn Jensen Seems like such a chill ass dude, most celebs are dickheads off screen but jensen comes off very genuine and down to earth💯
I love how Jensen answers your questions. Such a humble lovable guy!
Can never get enough of Jensen. Still so gorgeous and sweet and funny. Making me miss Supernatural. Love this interview.
Agree, want 15 more seasons!!
Hearing "Carry on my wayward son" before each season finale of Supernatural never got old. It was awesome.
3 days after I said goodbye and after 3 sleepless nights, I powered up my shitty laptop and logged into Netflix to find something to help me avoid
everything.
This was so amazing! Dude talks in such a way that it doesn't feel like he's a star. So down-to-earth!!!!!!!!! I love Jensen Ackles.
I remember I loved that scene lol
Yep! When he throws a pen & it goes into the end of the bad guy's gun! Lol
Yes!
A classic moment
I remember that because it’s one of my favorite episodes
Jensen: The movie i'm in is a western
me: oh yeah!
Jensen: It stares Alec Baldwin
me: oh...no....
This podcast definitely didn't age well here..
Just clocked that after a second time listening.

Supernatural and Smallville were the first series I've watched. I was 15 years old in 2006. I was diagnosed with cancer and I've binged watched both series before the word binge-watch existed. I bought the DVDs. So yeah, Jensen's totally right. These two series helped me through those times.
This episode was delightful. Jensen definitely opened up. I am so excited to see his character on The Boys. The Winchester prequel sounds awesome.
Michael truly has the most soothing voice in the industry. I could meditate to it.
It is hard to know and see how excited Jensen was for that Western. We in the fandom know how much that was a dream of his, like the Batman. So, for it to have such a tragic end hurts us for him. Good, though, to hear all his memories and inside feelings from his career.
weird to make it about him
I am so grateful that Jensen neither handled the gun nor was its victim. I pray for him Jared and their entire families daily!

This was perfect. The part with Dark Angel oh man I'm so happy we got to know more about his relationship with Jessica Alba. Jensen is so honest. It is soooo refreshing to listen to him. Michael is so good in asking the RIGHT questions. Respect for both men.
Fantastic interview. I love Jensen’s chill presence, so down to earth and authentic. What a great guy. Thanks for having him on!
Love that you had Jensen on. Can’t wait to see him in The Boys. Hoping this isn’t the only live action superhero thing he’ll do.

More than you can possibly imagine.

congrats for the sobriety 🎉❤

Crazy.
Excellent interview. Hearing him talk about going to shoot a movie for 4 weeks made me feel bad for him after realizing it was “Rust”.
Yeah and the episode with the steins. God he just WAS controlled, exacting, terrifying violence. He needs to play a bad guy ASAP

I absolutely loved the purgatory storyline Jensen is so right I really wished they had explored it more
yeah, i agree.
Same - I loved the whole Purgatory thing, raw Dean, gruff Benny, scruffy Cas. Thankfully, there's a lot of fic to fill in some blanks!
Agreed that season was very interesting so was the leviathins and the british men of letters season.
I hated Purgatory and Benny. So glad it didn't last.
No Jensen, you guys aren’t curing cancer but. You saved my life. When I got clean, every time I felt like couldn’t keep going. When I thought I was gonna die, the only thing I kept telling myself is “Sam and Dean wouldn’t give up” as crazy as it sounds, I truly don’t believe my sobriety would’ve been possible if I didn’t have my two hero’s to look up to and think “Dean got through hell, Sam got over demon blood, I could get through this” 😂
Love this!! Congrats on your sobriety!
So happy for you beating your addiction. You never know what will help make you feel stronger. The moment when Jensen start talking about the movie Rust, it's horrible to see him so happy about the movie and he doesn't know yet what's going to happen on set.
Same thought here. I was thinking "Wait, what movie is this?" The second he got to Alec Baldwin, I literally said "Oh no."
Its on hold at the moment, last i saw they hadnt fully cancelled it
Exact thoughts. I was like "oh no, its Rusts."
Jenson would be a great Green Lantern Hal Jordan for DC-CW or DCEU or even HBO Max. He kinda looks like Hal as he appeared in the comics and he has the acting chops and the experience in the genre to really make it work and shine.
I agree
No CW. ... no more!
NOPE. No. No. No.

Reading some of those toxic comments directed at Jensen was so frustrating and sad to see!
jensen is a great actor and voice actor too! this was an amazing interview!
Jensen has great point of views, I like to hear from him some more, I love to hear this man talk
For sure as well as the fact Jensen is a handsome boy and closer in age to Jessica compared to MW - oh he was jealous all right.
Jensen makes me so happy ❤

I had a rough go in high school but I only remember sitting on the couch with my friend, witnessing the next great adventure of sam and dean.
LOL I love them both! I'm British so I grew up with Who, it's kind of a cultural institution... I'm glad you got to remember those good times with your high school friend, hope you're still pals!
I wanna be friends with your friends cuz I love both shows so much
I have the same memories with my stepbrother
Me too
Seeing him talk about that western just put me in a state of shock and realisation after he mentioned Baldwin. Holyyyy fuck.
Love this! I was a Supernatural fan from day 1, I think I was around 12 years old and what a run they had! Jensen is such a chill person.
Jensen is my celebrity crush and mostly because he's a great father and husband and a phenomenal actor who makes me laugh and cry and has gotten me through depression. He's the real deal!
I love Jensen Ackles he’s so down to earth this was a awesome interview thanks for it ❤️
I remember Jensen as Eric Brady watching Days with my grandmother in the 90s years before he was in Smallville and Supernatural
Good reason to get him back on the podcast!
@@gemqueen1866 yep for sure
He talked about his music at a convention recently. No plans for live shows yet, but he’s thinking about it.
thanks so much. rosenbaum (please subscribe)
Very sorry about your mom. My condolences to you and your family. It's not silly. This show bonded so many.
I could just listen to you talk all day. This was a great interview, great questions, I love that you are friends and it makes it all look and sound so easy (and casually comfortable) which most interviews do not have. Really fun with Jensen and the wide range of topics. Thank you so much.
valerie you rule. rosenbaum
Okay, Jensen Ackles is a snack, what a dude! Can't wait to see him on The Boys, thanks for having him as a guest! Five-star episode!
I'm, a huge fan of both Michael Rosenbaum aka Lex Luthor Smallville and Jensen Ackles aka Supernatura as well!..😎🥃🥃🍻🍻. Damn great shows overall,!!..
Aka Dean Supernatural. Gotta keep the name/brand recognition the same, otherwise it looks like Jensen's Superhero name is Supernatura xDDD
you rock. thanks nick. hopefully you'll subscribe to my pod pal. rock on. rosenbaum
Well Jensen was in season 4 of Smallville and he had quite a few scenes with Michael ( Lex Luthor)
