Lets go! Really good goal-race. Looking forward following the journey! Just did the Swedeman Xtri. Superfun event and solid organization. You're in for a treat.
Another great video, thanks for sharing the link to the show with you and Fergus! I love the fact that you set your goals at levels that scare you! I understand that there is logic to setting achievable goals as a part of your overall bigger goals (intermediate steps), however, I have always been of the opinion that your "big" goals should be ones that require you to breakout and really grow. Dreams can come true, but only for those that dare to dream! Your bodyfat percentage goal is intense! I know that will continue to inspire and push you, however, it also did the same for me! It made me think, "what the h*ll is your excuse?"
Hi Shayne! I like your idea of sharing stories. I am training for my first IM and its the 4th time i try to get to the start line. I would be happy to be part of the story sharing.
I wish you the best but celtman is definitely on another level. If you don't get in, I reckon you should do is the Viking Medal. That means doing a half and full ironman in either Sweden or Denmark, in one calendar year. Sweden 70.3 is in July and the full is in August. Otherwise doing the Norwegian "Norseman" could be an alternative to the Celtman. It's just as brutal.
What’s your current body fat %? I am down 11.2kgs so far on my journey so my next goals for the next 12 months is to lose 10kgs and 2 visceral fat numbers and continue my gym training.
Kudos for the journey so far and for the ambitious goals! 10% BF sounds a hell of an ambitious goal, for one. You've proven your ability to state and reach such goals, the question though is whether it's a sustainable - and reasonable - goal in the long run. Maintaining such a low BF % is harder than reaching it. But I guess there's nothing wrong with getting there, enjoying the 6-pack, then settling on a more sustainable figure. You didn't mention any aerobic fitness goals, aside from mentioning a sub-4 marathon, from which one can derive where you want to be in terms of marathon pace at the very least. But given how serious you are about measurements (e.g., DEXA scans - in plural!) I'm pretty sure you have some ideas around lactate threashold and maybe VO2Max too. Another crucial component you haven't mentioned is any kind of stability work, and I wonder whether it's something you don't do, or do not deem important enough to mention. Also, you may have answered this before, but I'm not sure I've seen that. I'd be curious to know how many hours per week you dedicate to exercise, and what your diet looks like, given your continuing weight loss jorney combined with IM training.
Good points. Also one thing to look into is what excess skin will look like when loosing a lot of weight and reaching lower numbers, especially as an “more mature” person. Going for more muscle and a higher % might look much more fit in the end.
Love all the questions, honestly not sure how it will look or if its the right end goal but thats part of the journey to see if its right. Only one way to know. Honestly the idea of 10% is really about learning to control food and understand exactly what it all means. The aerobic fitness goals will come from the outcome we are looking for, a sub 6 hour Half Ironman, sub 4 hour marathon and the high course in Celtman will dictate the goals for Fergus to input into the training. Lactate and VO2 Max are indicators but not something I'm interested in training for because it's a very personal number and different for everyone so hard for people to compare. Stability work is on the agenda in the Gym as part of body comp and I will also be adding Yoga to the week as my flexibility needs work too. No real goals I can attach for this part though but it's certainly part of the plan. I will be putting about 15 to 20 hours per week into the training across all areas, and I will be detailing the diet as I go along for sure. So hang around and you will see it all. Thanks for the support
If anybody is going to get you through Celtman it would be Fergus, amazing goals. With you all the way.
Thanks for the support

Sounds like a good plan as an alternative for sure, thanks for the support

Currently around 30%, but will be getting an accurate measurement soon. Well done on your journey so far, keep up the great work

I’d love to hear other’s stories too!
Hopefully people want to share
Amazing! Maybe Xterra is something you might be interested in the year after next.
Yeah I did look at that too, lots of options for the future. Thanks for the support
Celtman ! Ive just looked it up , the bar has been set very high , best of luck 💪👍🙂 ps im gonna watch Fergus video on Celtman 👍
Hope you enjoy it! Fergus has a couple of great videos on Celtman so check them out. Gotta have a big goal to make big change. Thanks for the support
Great goals. Can I ask your height? Nice to help understand weight and goals
I was about to ask the same
176cm tall. Thanks for the support, lots more numbers to come in the next couple weeks.
@@TakeTheNextRight interesting to see calculations for the 6 pack.
If you are into extreme triathlons, why not do the one in Jindabyne/kozi..... if you do, I'll happily join in
That may be the one I do next year, it's all about timing really. Will lock in the rest of the stuff in the next couple months.
@@TakeTheNextRight sounds good 👍
Sub 10 is a pretty silly goal imo. Go for 15. Sub 10 you will feel awful and crash your hormone profile.
Loose skin is another big issue at that level
All part of what I want to know, you may be right but we will see. Thanks for watching
