mentioning group projects made me relive a "fun" memory I took a course called "software development using Unity" so essentially making a game in the Unity engine we have around 7 months for the project and after 2 weeks of debating what we (a 7 person team) should do that was plagued with at least one person going "I don't want to do that" for any given idea we landed on a side scrolling shooter/platformer everyone gets assigned a part and we split up, no major progress reports and everyone assumes the others are diligently working on their assigned stuff. one girl was assigned to music, one guy made models etc. and my job was to also assemble all the parts I got sent so the 7 months are almost over, we have only 3 days until we have to present the project and I still haven't gotten a single thing from anyone. after asking around it became clear that nobody except me and the music girl had done anything for the project. So I had 2.5 days to make a Unity game in a genre I don't particularly like (but to be fair also don't hold any grudges against) to the level of quality you'd expect from a 7 month project. from scratch. alone. not fun I slept maybe 4 hours in that time and definitely drank too many energy drinks but eventually somehow got something together. nothing good but it was playable. kind of also the music I was sent was in a file format Unity wouldn't accept and I didn't recognize it so couldn't convert it, and the girl responsible couldn't export in any other format, so I also had to do music for the game. I do not know a single thing about music in the end I drove to present the project by car after getting way too little sleep, definitely not a good idea, but we had to present it I didn't even have time to properly build the game into an exe because I had to polish the code as much as humanly possible so it was presented by playing inside the Unity editor and also had to be handed in to the professor in this state after presenting we were asked to hand in a file detailing who did what work on the project by the following week. since you needed a good grade in this project work to pass the year (there's genuinely no way around this, you absolutely NEED that grade otherwise you get to do the year again) I split all of my work up into sections and assigned them to the other people so everyone would get at least a passing grade I ended up getting the least points out of all the participants (but enough to pass) still mad about that one despite it happening 4,5 years ago and I likely will never let that go not what I would call a "fun experience"
Honestly, you should've told the professor the situation so that only you and music girl got points. Let the others who slacked figure out the consequences of their (in)actions.

26:04 Isn't the difference that while softlocked you can reload save/reset character and be just fine, but while hardlock NOTHING will help you progressing further.
That, and I've always also seen freezing as a hard lock. Like if your game is stuck on one frame, you have to reset the console itself. Whereas if YOU were stuck you can open the menu and quit, soft locked
That's how I view it. Softlock means a reload or loading a quick save usually fixes. I think of hard locked as you are now stuck with absolutely no way to get out of it. Like an infinite death loop in Skyrim where your quick save was the save right at the start of said loop.

I got stuck in the Lakebed Temple as a kid because there was a small underwater maze I kept getting lost in. And as a kid, whenever I'd get stuck on a hard part in games, instead of trying to solve the problem and push past it, I'd just restart the game and play through the whole game up to the point I had gotten stuck, then repeat the process. People say TP's intro is too long, and thinking on it I'd agree, but I've played through that intro so many times it means absolutely nothing to me lmao.
In the speedrun lore, Cassie HATES Roxy and thats why she never hesitates to deactivate her despite not being told. She cries at the end because she couldn’t find Giga Monty, her favorite animatronic
I always think of Security Breach as the silly goofy glitch game that's more of a sandbox than anything and can be beaten in 5 minutes, so it always floors me when I remember that its the single largest game (I think) in an incredibly large franchise that still has more problems than the average 90s console game that probably only had 2 updates and a single playtest.
I remember hearing someone else describe the painting thing. It works better if you, the artist, and an art appraiser all work together. The process goes something like this: Artist makes a $10 painting with leftover paints in their garage. You, the rich businessman, buy that painting for $200. You "hire" an art appraiser to value the painting at something ludicrous, like $2,000,000. This costs you, say, $2,000. You donate the "$2,000,000" painting to the local museum, and you get to write that off on your taxes. The artist turned $10 into $200; the appraiser gets a kickback from the evaluation; and you get to save $2m after spending $2,200. Everyone wins! And that's why modern art is a thing.
@@crackerjaq9974 I don't think this is money laundering. If anything, it's a kind of tax fraud. The rich guy isn't using the painting to explain how he acquired $2m; he's donating it to a museum to get a $2m coupon for his taxable income. I guess you _could_ use this to help you launder money. Like, you use a legitimate business to mask the earnings of your illegitimate side hustle, _then_ use the painting to make the IRS not care either way. Everything on your books was covered by the deductible, so who's going to look twice?
it also just doesn't happen as often as people think it does, you need a name behind you to pull off the old reliable. My woodblock and stone printmaking prints might get appraised at around 1k, finding an appraiser to risk their livelihood isn't that easy. And you don't donate it to a museum, you donate it to a COLLECTION, which could just be someones garage. It's a risky scheme though and has to be carefully executed, airtight. Big name artist, big name appraisal company, big name collection that cycles regularly. It's a real legal loophole because it's not always just money laundering, you need to make it look as legit as possible and when you get to that point it's just... a genuine art donation lol.
I love how you make your videos, I always liked you voice + VOD + music style of video but now it's just so much better, the icon to tell you are talking the musics the montage everything is so much better and I love it ! Spiff mentioned GTFO at like 10:10. I’d love to see Spiff play and stream GTFO! I’ve been playing that game with a few friends and it’s a lot of fun. The bots can get you pretty far in GTFO but past most C1 levels, you’ll probably need a full squad of people. Exceptions include R1 since that one is pretty tame, and there are a few levels where they’re actually not too bad to solo by yourself or with bots. A lot of levels in R5, and R7 need a full squad or at least three people. Once you get to C1 in those rundowns, you usually need a full team.

35:30 Actually, to evade taxes via paintings, you: Commision a painting. (~1.000$?) Have it evaluated at your net Worth Donate the painting to a Museum Resultingly, you pay No taxes because you technically donated your entire worth
If anyone was curious about how the art tax evasion works, you buy a painting and then get a private art grader to say "this painting is worth one million dollars". You then take that painting and donate it to a museum or a charity or something and then you go to the government and say "I donated goods worth 1 million dollars to charity". You then get a tax break from the government where 1 million dollars of your taxes are removed.
That tax break is called a "charitable tax receipt" and it's also why grocery stores ask you to donate money when buying groceries. They then take your money, donate it to charity themself, and say they donated that money and get a charitable tax receipt write off.
35:11 i believe you hire an in house painter to make a painting, then hire an in house appraiser to appraise it as some ludicrous amount of money, and then donate it to a museum to deduct that from your taxes

@@dbeast03 Mask warps are also easy enough to do by mistake, though I think in most cases they just end in a death anyway so it doesn't really effect anything
@@Bubbly_Dragon yep, it's less common to do that type of thing on accident is the big part, because SB had so many accidental clips and OOB's for deaths and softlocks that ruin just having a few is, at minimum, a step in the right direction.
There’s a difference between the breaking the game on purpose versus by accident.
I love how sassy editor Connor is
he got a editor now?
@@DeadKraker he's had one for a long time now
I'm so happy I was able to create and contribute to a Chapter 1 skip that is still being used in even sub 30 minute runs, I might have to try and see if I can get anywhere near as fast as Spiff at this speedrun
Congrats man!
Spiff is probably the best RUclipsr who does sponsor ads. His narration is entertaining enough that I don't want to skip it, and for this video, I finally decided to buy that damn water bottle 😂
Ngl I might have to give in to the sponsor too
I want one too but it’s so expensive 😭
SAME he's the only creator I don't skip the sponsor segment for lol
I love how chat said "no illegal stuff" as a fangame requirement when like. Number 1, there is already a lot of murder in FNaF, even if you're not committing it. And number 2, DSaF exists. And has the option for you to do SO many crimes
I'd really assume that the rules are:
1) It has to be free, unless Scott says you can make money off it
2) Can't be too similar to official games
and 3) No kiddie diddlers
By "nothing illegal" they probably meant like actual _illegal_ irl stuff, not, like, in-game illegal... Fazbear Ent. breaks laws on the regular lol
I now need a fan game in which fazbear is meets all osha requirements, maybe as a mod of security breach?
@@3clipse449 that would be so goddamn funny. like an alternate, locally run piece of the fazbear chain in some small town who Actually cares about the health and well-being of their employees
6:06 am i tripping or does spiff seem to have a decently sized part of the community that sleeps with his streams on? it’s such relaxing background noise to sleep to
I fell asleep while watching this vid, ur not alone :)
about to fall asleep to this video lmao
the main channel vids for me but absolutely
1:04:31 I am *living* for the mic bonk. Such a mood. Encapsulates everything I've ever experienced as a gamer.
really appreciate the narrator spiff distinction. i struggle to follow along sometimes, this definitely helped!
I just look at stream Spiff’s mouth to see if it’s moving correctly with the words narrator Spiff is saying
The audio quality is also clearer and usually a different volume
@@incognitoburrito6020i think they were being satirical, this new editor spiff pepe cutaway drives me insane
@@arcanox3612i dont think they were. it's useful to me too
@@arcanox3612I genuinely agree with OP, though. as someone with auditory processing issues, it really throws me off sometimes when narration starts happening in the middle of one of spiff’s videos, especially if the gameplay continues around it with no cuts. Obviously I’ll survive if it happens, but it’s just a little thing that I personally appreciate when youtubers add in some sort of visual cue letting me know that the coming speech isn’t necessarily connected to exactly what’s going on with the gameplay. :)
my favorite moment from these streams was when I tried to explain lore to spiff, he read it out loud, and then just said "no."
Hearing Spiff talk about struggling with the fishing rod in Twilight Princess helped heal my soul knowing I'm not the only one who sucked so much that it took like 20 minutes to get the fish for that cat
I really like how it’s called the matpat incident instead of the lorehunter skip. Good job to matpat’s editor for this one
I still love that Matpat has his own speedrunning skip
Talking about getting stuck,
I got stuck at the golden claw door in Skyrim because I didn't know you needed to look at the claw.
I got stuck in Elden Ring for days because I didn't know how to get onto the Altus Plateau since I had 1/2 the medallion and didn't know about the side entrance.
i have the solution for the golden claw specifically memorized since its the first one (fun fact: you just activate every ring twice!) but ive started playing on pc with a mouse and keyboard set up after playing on ps4 for ages and i had no idea how to move inventory items around with a mouse 💀
In my defense, to my knowledge there's almost no quests that require you to examine the model of an item in Skyrim, excluding books.
@AdaTheWatcher And all of the claws.
I got stuck on those because it was sometimes difficult to determine what direction they were supposed to face.
SAME
Spiff's impression of Roxy saying, "GIVE ME BACK MY EYES!" is impeccable
"ᵍⁱᵛᵉ ᵐᵉ ᵇᵃᶜᵏ ᵐʸ ᵉʸᵉˢ﹗"
You are insane! Props to you and everyone who took part in this! ❤
When Spiff said “Astral” as the code for AirUp, I legitimately went “Who?” I forgot that it’s AstralSpiff and not just Spiff. 😂😭
gotta say this is the best version of your vids ever. a 50/50 split between narration and twitch commentary with a bunch of fun editing. keep it up--and nice work connor ;)
AirUp: Hey this guy seems popular! Let’s have him sponsor our product!
Spiff: Finally an opportunity to share how I stole flavored water from the elderly!
mentioning group projects made me relive a "fun" memory
I took a course called "software development using Unity" so essentially making a game in the Unity engine
we have around 7 months for the project and after 2 weeks of debating what we (a 7 person team) should do that was plagued with at least one person going "I don't want to do that" for any given idea we landed on a side scrolling shooter/platformer
everyone gets assigned a part and we split up, no major progress reports and everyone assumes the others are diligently working on their assigned stuff. one girl was assigned to music, one guy made models etc. and my job was to also assemble all the parts I got sent
so the 7 months are almost over, we have only 3 days until we have to present the project and I still haven't gotten a single thing from anyone. after asking around it became clear that nobody except me and the music girl had done anything for the project.
So I had 2.5 days to make a Unity game in a genre I don't particularly like (but to be fair also don't hold any grudges against) to the level of quality you'd expect from a 7 month project. from scratch. alone. not fun
I slept maybe 4 hours in that time and definitely drank too many energy drinks but eventually somehow got something together. nothing good but it was playable. kind of
also the music I was sent was in a file format Unity wouldn't accept and I didn't recognize it so couldn't convert it, and the girl responsible couldn't export in any other format, so I also had to do music for the game. I do not know a single thing about music
in the end I drove to present the project by car after getting way too little sleep, definitely not a good idea, but we had to present it
I didn't even have time to properly build the game into an exe because I had to polish the code as much as humanly possible so it was presented by playing inside the Unity editor and also had to be handed in to the professor in this state
after presenting we were asked to hand in a file detailing who did what work on the project by the following week. since you needed a good grade in this project work to pass the year (there's genuinely no way around this, you absolutely NEED that grade otherwise you get to do the year again) I split all of my work up into sections and assigned them to the other people so everyone would get at least a passing grade
I ended up getting the least points out of all the participants (but enough to pass)
still mad about that one despite it happening 4,5 years ago and I likely will never let that go
not what I would call a "fun experience"
Honestly, you should've told the professor the situation so that only you and music girl got points. Let the others who slacked figure out the consequences of their (in)actions.
you can tell which sponsors have watched more than 2 minutes of the channel by the code they use. in all my time watching this man i have never seen anyone call him astral except for ads
honestly I'd have to give props for Spiff's editing for this channel
making funny content is one thing, but transforming hours of VODs into a single video while keeping it funny and not awkward is another skill itselfー I've seen other youtubers do this, but not all of them come out really well... So keep doing what you're doing Spiff, you're doing great and love your content!!
the absolute pain in his voice when he says that the code is astral and not spiff gets me every time
Lets just appreciate how long this video must of taken. Not only did he edit this, which is a whole other can of worms, but he also edited down and spliced in audio commentary into 5-6 DIFFERENT STREAMS. Thank you for giving me sleep videos!
It feels so weird to have seen the sub 30 run and then still be excited to see an hour and a half long video detailing it. Think it goes to show that Spiff has really fun narration and editing
I'm both happy and sad that Stealwool improved.
Happy because, yay, lesson learned.
And sad because, aww, we love buggy mess.
@@crowqueenampsyou could just load a save further back though
Ashley hydration reminders in an ad?? Love it. There is nothing that will stop me from hydrating now.
Loved the video, congratulations on sub 30! And thank you for a beautiful 1 hour and 30 minutes of my time spent watching this video.
Only Spiff makes a 1 hour 40 minutes video explaining how he beats a DLC in under 30 minutes =D
On that regards, he's the Otzdarva of the FNAF universe, lmao
Truly a quick video to watch on my lunch break :3
Thanks for uploading Spiff, your videos help me through the day and I love listening to your videos while I make a new MTG deck because you’re funny as hell.
Like what kind of deck
Edit: I meant like what format
7:24 You're telling me that jumping while using the main mechanic of the game once again allows you to escape out of bounds? Well at least it doesn't unload the entire map this time!
35:30 Buy a painting and then have it evaluated by a corrupt critic, then donate a “million dollar painting” that you bought for a few thousand to a museum.
Tax deductible donation
1:25:52 “MatPat’s being retired.”
Oh, Spiff, you have no idea…
matpat incident
(crying)
So real Livesplit, so real.
I love these long ass videos, since they're barely edited, it's just the best parts of the streams compiled together which makes it very enjoyable to watch or just have in the background and listen to the wacky conversations Spiff has with chat
my goodness, my first stream i caught of spiff and the first time you see me is at 1:31:07 saying to get loaf to kill the fly, it was great to be in a WR run for my first stream on twitch
That's so cool!! I'm happy you got that intro hehe
I never drank water before I saw this video, thanks to your sponsor now I can be properly hydrated.
Spiff questioned it in the vods, how does Roxy come back after being turned off
I think, like sun/moon, she was simply rebooted, she just took a sec to come back online
did you know the brazil ending is probably called that, not because of jokes, but because of a movie by the same name! the movie, basically, goes like this: so theres a guy who has a fantasy world he escapes to when stressed but is going throught tons of situations and at the end, he escapes into his mind for probably the last time. theres a video explaining it in better detail...
honestly the pepe frog being there when narrator spiff is talking really helps to clear up confusion, a nice addition to your already amazing vids
No illegal stuff in your child-murder-franchise fangames. Fazbear Entertainment has never broken the law.
The process goes something like this:
Artist makes a $10 painting with leftover paints in their garage.
And that's why modern art is a thing.
wow that is really stupid that thats how that works
Say it with me now, kids:
✨ _Money Laundering_ ✨
@@crackerjaq9974 I don't think this is money laundering. If anything, it's a kind of tax fraud. The rich guy isn't using the painting to explain how he acquired $2m; he's donating it to a museum to get a $2m coupon for his taxable income.
I guess you _could_ use this to help you launder money. Like, you use a legitimate business to mask the earnings of your illegitimate side hustle, _then_ use the painting to make the IRS not care either way. Everything on your books was covered by the deductible, so who's going to look twice?
Average adachi pfp
it also just doesn't happen as often as people think it does, you need a name behind you to pull off the old reliable.
So not only is bonnie bowl the easiest to skip in speedruns, but also the easiest to skip for steelwool in adding the bowling minigame!
I love how you make your videos, I always liked you voice + VOD + music style of video but now it's just so much better, the icon to tell you are talking the musics the montage everything is so much better and I love it ! I love speedrunning content in general but I think you're one of the few people on Internet that knows how to make a good video on speedrunning content and that is so refreshing !
I love how Connor is making sure to mention SPIFF lied, not him.
i love these long spiff vidoes. not that I don't mind watching full vods, but seeing a compilation of a whole run/challenge is nice. Good job on the editing too :0
I think its nice to have a face appear in the corner when spiff talks outside of the stream
the song that plays at 1:03:00 is the instrumental version of a song named "i hate the world and everything in it", felt like it was a fitting title for the depression arc lol
LETS GO I CAN FINALLY LEARN THIS RUN

3:42 Struth, working outside is a constant fight against death by dehydration, I routinely go through a gallon and a quart (little less than 5 liters) over 8 hours and still get off my shift dehydrated
With how ADAMANT you are that ruin requires you to do all chapters because of the way the game is divided up, I just can't help but feel that there will be found a way to corrupt the loading trigger at the end of chapter 1 to take you straight to chapter 9.
I’m only at the very beginning of this video, but I wanna point out hell The Game theorist unintentionally skipped the most lore filled chapter with the mask, so that is a speed running strategy, just trying to figure out how to replicate that bug
35:27 chat no, they _donate_ the painting and then write off the value in the donation part of doing your taxes. That's how they game the system so they don't pay their part.
Watching this after watching Matpat play is a little funny.
“The game has nine chapters, and we can’t skip any of them.”
Matpat: “Hold my beer”
14:05 I never thought I would hear about this game ever again. Nice to know about more people who have played it. I never played, but only know if it because someone I knew was playing it and I was watching it. So cool.
1:28:51 never pay for college textbooks. Almost all of them are available online for free and the ones that aren't can be rented so much cheaper. Older versions have a good chance to be nearly identical to newer versions if its only a couple years old. Had a professor that required use to buy a book he wrote. Probably the most scummiest things ive had a professor do. Was a total dick as well
Hey @AstralSpiff I was one of the people who worked with the yogscast i worked on Shadow of Israphel, i can tell you that Sadly that series was stopped after Lewis updated the server and we didnt keep a back up of the world. It honestly sucked as there where so many people who loved the Series but it did teach us to remember to do back ups of the world after that accident. We did add little bits in Yoglabs of Israphel but that was the last it was really talked about
Spiff, you should play twilight princess on stream so that chat can hold you accountable for not finding it if your try to quit
If we’re talking about portal I have a thing. The first portal game I played was surprisingly portal 2 and I was a wuss as a child so for the first 6 months of owning it the loud buzzers in the tutorial shook me so much I just kept quitting. During the tutorial. Eventually I made it through but then I opened the door to greet Wheatley and he screamed and I got scared and quit again. I had to watch a walkthrough before I could actually get past and complete the game. About a year after getting it
Oh my gosh! It's my favorite youtuber, ASTRAL! I can't wait to use code ASTRAL to get an AirUp bottle so I can stay hydrated during ASTRAL's streams!

I love coming back to your videos every now and then, always a vibe I know I can trust
IT HAS BEEN DONE, good job Spiff!
Spigg I’m a long time fan and this video is a banger love the editing and the flow of it all, it’s a really good mix of post commentary info and stream clips. Can’t wait to see more!
alright this run is pretty sick now. All the movement oob with the mask seems really sick
the pepega fading in as spiff gets stuck on a connect the dots puzzle is the reason I rewatch this video so much
I gotta say, I appreciate the narration distinction with the pepe icon
15:38 apart from ocarina of time. Me and my siblings skipped every piece of dialogue but managed to get to adult link before I can't remember what happened next. I've played 22/40 Zelda games and I think I've beaten 3
1:00:00 i know this is totally random, but speaking to the color of water, on the pacific coast of the americas, specifically in the PNW our water is an emerald green, its hard to see in photos but when you live here 24/7 you'd wish it was as clear and nice as the bahamas water
Using the catwalk railing to jump over the trigger for the final Monty encounter. Now where have I heard this before?
markiplier might be the king of fnaf, but i'd say spiff is the king of security breach. he deserves the title.

Actually, to evade taxes via paintings, you:
Commision a painting. (~1.000$?)
Have it evaluated at your net Worth
Donate the painting to a Museum
Resultingly, you pay No taxes because you technically donated your entire worth
1:23:23 i like how the jumps line up with the stings in the music
nice job
was about to comment this
If anyone was curious about how the art tax evasion works, you buy a painting and then get a private art grader to say "this painting is worth one million dollars".
Connor a real one for giving all the jumpscares to Spiff, shame on Spiff
35:11 i believe you hire an in house painter to make a painting, then hire an in house appraiser to appraise it as some ludicrous amount of money, and then donate it to a museum to deduct that from your taxes
Im at an airport Rn waiting for my next flight…. And there’s a four hour layover. Spiff, you saved me 🙏🏻🙏🏻. The waits gonna feel a lot shorter after this FEATURE LENGTH video.
