  • In 2016 I continuously thru-hiked the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) without any re-supply boxes. In this video I review my experience of buying all the food, shoes, and gear I needed along the way.

Nice work on finishing in the tough conditions! Outstanding! As I pack my boxes, fewer and fewer, I’m regretting mailing all this crap. Underplanning usually leads to more adventure. 😁 Down to four boxes, only because I already bought all this crap.

You’ve got some memories to last a lifetime on the way. When’s your start date? Do you have a blog?

@@notwaitingtolive April 2. The only thing I’ve got is a short list of family and friends I keep utd. I text my wife and she puts everything into an email. My leave from work actually started last September 1, so I did all of Washington sobo. Will finish close to home this way both times in Cascade Locks. Your info was spot on with what a trail friend of mine from last Fall said. Don’t overplan or overthink it. Ha! Lifetime of flying airplanes and mountaineering has made me a bit of a plan freak. I’m really trying to let that go. 😂

A couple spots in Washington and Oregon are good places to ship a couple things. Would help prevent all that hitching and 80 mile bus ride eating up days. I prefer not to spend time in town. Get my supplies, maybe a package a month and be gone

Packages definitely have advantages. Which locations would you recommend mailing to?

How many resupply points are in section A? What about rivers and streams for water

So I can do section A without resupply box? Do I need a permit?
