I miss shooting in Mexico City and I admire how brave you are to get close to people and shoot them, that's something I do sometimes but not in almost any situation as I see you do it
I bought a GA645 years ago, it has the 60mm lens. I use it as my travel camera and for fashion. In a pinch I will use it for street photography and I love it. I got it in 98 and have put a couple hundred rolls through it no issues. Also yes that Reala has definitely shifted. Fuji amateur films were not known for their skin tones like the kodaks, Reala was their attempt, clear accurate skin tone with a bit punch in contrast.
I've been shooting medium format for about 8 months now and I have more or less stopped shooting 35mm. The film size vs grain for medium format is much more appealing to my eye. I don't shoot street photography so my choices for cameras won't be helpful to you, but I absolutely love my Voigtländer Bessa RF. Focusing is different, but if you're not in a hurry it works fine. It is light and folds small. Fujifilm ACROS II 100 B&W is perfect for it.
Fuji GS645S. I've had mine for 3 years now and I've tried hundreds of different film cameras and for street it's the best camera I've ever used. The f4 lens is an obstacle but I've gotten by with using a thyristor flash in low light. It's mechanical and I've shot hundreds of rolls through mine and still haven't had to have it serviced.
Great video, as always! Great results out of that expired film, you know how to treat the so they turned out so good! I tried out a Fuji GW690III, which is completely manual, and I was stunned by the results, it’s a big and heavy camera but it’s like shooting a HUGE M3… I think that’s why they call it the Texas Leica!! 😅 I made a video of it also… Looking forward to see your next video, as always! Never thought I'd see Pennywise with a bumbag / fannypack! Very cool that you got to experiment again. My favourite is the motion-blurred guitarist at 9:40, but it was another tough call.
Yay... A the_real_sir-robin video upload! I know it's not film but would love to see you try out a Fuji GFX 50R for street. Fuji's digital film simulations are some of the best on the market. The closest prime they have to the 28 to 30 range you like is their 30mm (24mm ff equivalent which you could always crop in post) or their 45mm (35mm equivalent). Their 'Pancake" lens which was designed as a light walkabout street lens is their 50mm (40mm equivalent) a bit too tight! There would be another way to get the 28 range though and that is by using their 32-64 zoom lens (25-50mm equivalent) and set the zoom ring to 28mm and shoot like that, it really is an amazing lens although a bit of a heavy setup for all weekend street shooting! An expensive setup also! Maybe rent it out for the weekend and see how it goes. Would really enjoy seeing the results you get with it and the feedback you'd give. Cheers...
The thing is I've never been a fan of the GFX line since it's not "real" medium format at least in my opinion. Sure, I would give it a try if I can get my hands on it. Maybe I should ask Fuji if they can loan me one for a week or two. 😊
@@therealsirrobin Feel honoured to be picked again but as I've already won a print from your good self I'd be happy enough for you to pick another post for winner this time and I'll maybe try again another time. Cheers... 🍻

The creepy is just perfect ! So funny with the nice smile of the young girl, and there is some contest that show that you're in Mexico with the shape of one of the most emblematic building of Mexico city in the background. Congratulations 👏!
Hi Robin, great work! I have been following you for quite a while and love your style. I own the Fuji GF670W and with its 28mm (equiv) lens this a superb camera for street photography. Aperture priority and zone focusing and you’re all set to go. The Fuji GF670w is also available under the Voigtlander Bessa brand. Keep up the great work! Pat
my favorite photograph is that of the woman lying on the grass gave it an extra that was in medium format, I would love to have that print on my hands. In Mexico we have a lot of stock of expired film, it is very fun to buy some and experiment with the results Excellent video greetings from a great fan of the channel from Mexico !
I have the 90mm version of this camera and I truly enjoy wandering the streets with it. the little girl in the witch t-shirt makes the clown picture really interesting.
See if you can get your hands on a Fuji GF670. If you're lucky, you might be able to pick up a brand new one, since they only went out of production about 6 or so years ago. They're around a kilo in weight, so not too heavy. And, you can shoot 6x6 and 6x7 sized frames. The only problem is it's an 80mm focal length, so that's about 40mm. Bit large, but I'm sure you can manage that :D One thing you mightn't manage...the price!!! Be prepared to mortgage the house to buy one :P
The GF670w would be my ideal camera but I can't justify the price tag, at least not for now. The 80mm version is also lovely and much more affordable but I'd prefer 55mm.
Analog cameras are all getting too expensive … like many other things (bitcoins, houses in my city, …) I wished I bought many of them before that was the case :)
I think the best photos are 7:29 and 8:18. I really like the Across look a lot, it's a shame it's so expensive. The camera looks like a bigger version of a point and shoot at lest is equally clunky and the fact of you need to turn into portrait orientation to take horizonal images is very similar to a Half Frame camera.
The portrait orientation of the film in the camera is kind of interesting. Is there any digital cameras with the sensor “standing up” in portrait? Cool shots and nice video as always.
I was eyeing one of those on the bay. Actually trying to decide between this camera, the GW690iii, and the Pentax 67. I knew that it was portrait orientation, but I didn't realize that the 645 was a point and shoot. So that removes it from the list. Fyi, I like the b&w shots.
Have you considered the Fuji GS645 series they are fully manual they consist of 2 rangefinders the gs645 (75mm) and the gs645s(60mm) and there is the gs645w at 45mm but that is a scale focus camera. I have the gs645s it is lightweight and optical excellent, only probleem is the rangefinder patch is not the clearest that I have seen.
I looked into those too but my main issue still remains and that is the portrait orientation. I don't think I'll ever get used to that since I shoot horizontal shots 99% of the time.
@@therealsirrobin I think you are going to be hard pressed to find a small 6x45 camera ( in it self rare) that is not portrait style, maybe the bronica 645 (don’t know haven’t used one).
