Can't really go by the comics. Tony Stark and Gamora (green chick in GOTG) had a relationsip, but I doubt we will see that in the movies. Too bad though, I like her far more than I like Pepper.
I am not saying they don't look great without costumes, but god, the costumes really brings out their features and characters. Richard Armitage's eyes and voice are so sexy I wanna cry.
I'm only disappointed that Fili didn't have that grief moment for when he died. Kili and Thorin both did,why not for him? :( It made it seemed like he wasn't significant much by the other characters.
It wasn't that he wasn't significant to the other characters, just that he himself didn't have anyone significant to grieve over him. For example, Thorin had Bilbo and Kili had Tauriel
You could see the shock and grief in Thorin face when Fíli was killed. It was like the pain was too deep that he couldn’t express it. Fíli has the saddest death of the whole movie.
the biggest injustice to Fili and Kili was their deaths... in the book, they died fighting alongside Thorin. Peter had everyone die separately so we could have Azog Vs Thorin on ice. Like, ugh.
Ikr? If Peter really wanted to keep Azog vs Thorin on ice, he should've at least have Fíli and Kíli die together. And to have someone actually acknowledge their deaths (not Tauriel, her only purpose was to create a pointless love interest for Kíli and to be part of a love triangle. She wasn't even in the book).
@@nekitamol1k242 in this case he could very well have given them a character while keeping their original fate as in the book, it would have created a dramatic moment that was nothing short of shocking. I read the book and when I saw the movie I was disappointed that Peter decided to snatch Kili away from his brother and Thorin, only to give him to a character that doesn't even exist in the book and just to create a pointless "romance" to the plot and the growth of Kili's character.
They will be buried in the Extended edition, but we wont be able to see them be crowned because they are dead. (Spoiler) We will though be able to see King Dain become king over Erebor
Over all of the three films, Peter has shown us the brotherly love of Fili and Kili. How they were inseparable and willing to give everything for each other. And somehow I expected them to die side by side. Because they're linked, they're a team. "I belong with my brother." This line has stucked with me ever since Fili left the company for staying with his little brother. Kili's death was heartbreaking, honestly. And I don't even want to talk about Fili's because it just left me speechless. I just think he didn't deserve to die that way.. But on the one hand he saved Kili by holding him back. So apparently he stood up for his brother, were willing to die for him. At that point I knew they won't have that side-by-side death so I was very curious about Kili's reaction to Fili's death. And I honestly didn't expected that I'd be that way. I know, Kili's anger was an result of pure grief, but it would've been a lot more heartbreaking if he stayed with his brother, right? If we could've felt that lost with Kili. That sadness disappeared somehow when Kili started his "orc crusade". (I don't know how to describe that) Anyway, maybe it's just me but I felt kinda betrayed by Peter for making me fall in love with that brotherly bond first and then they didn't die next to each other. Painful enough they had to die either way, but that was just not where they belong.
I felt same way as I should know from info and detail description between Thorin's nephew(s) is more philosophical warrior family bond that should have been extended far more than their funeral in BOTFA Extended Edition.
allthestoriesaretrue if I understood things right, in the book they both actually die by defending Thorin with their own bodies or something along those lines than how they did in the movie... had it been the book version I think my heart would have been worse off than what it was.
I absolutely loved the movies, but the one thing I missed was a moment for Fili. Every dwarf in the company has something that sets them apart, a quirk or a great scene where they show off their abilities. But to me, Fili and Kili are the ones who make dwarves sexy, and of course they are the young, strong fighters. Thorin is the handsome leader, but Fili and Kili are young and sexy and not as weighed down with responsibility yet. But I feel like out of the two of them, only Kili got his moment to shine, in his relationship with Tauriel and his cheeky youthfulness. Whereas Fili was only shown as half of a pair, and didn't have his own great scene, apart from his death. I thought he deserved more attention, to show more of him as his own character, not just as part of the group. Because he's a cool dwarf and played by a great actor, but also because I never would have thought anyone could make that kind of moustache look good (I forgot what they're called). :D
The first thing I said to my friend when the movie ended was something like "Thorin died next to Bilbo, Kili next to Tauriel, but Fili? They never really showed a scene of at least someone crying over his body, besides, the fall was freaking heartbreaking
Linda Birchtree I´m not saying that they didn´t, what I meant was that they didn´t give him an space in the screen (moments in the movie) like they did with Kili and Thorin (:
Chipisister Well, you cannot really give every character someone to be sad over each of their death's. it is really nothing that had to be on camera because it is quite obvious that he will be buried with his brother and Thorin! (Though I would want to see them be buried, just like Theoden in LOTR). Kili and Thorin had someone, but Fili just did not have that! And, the other dwarves realistically cares more of the King, as always :)
i love Aidan Turner and i love Kili. He's a good addition to the story. Fili and Kili bring sort of the comic relief to the movie which i do enjoy from a story that was meant for seriousness. I love the story, the action, the adventure, the hot boys are just a bonus to the already incredible story of "The Hobbit"
The Hobbit made me watch so many series! :3 Being Human with Aidan Turner (Kili) The Almighty Johnsons with Dean O'gorman (Fili) And Pushing Daisies with Lee Pace (Thranduil) I love them all so much O.O
Man I wish Tolkien had've stayed with his original draft of The Hobbit! I'm a "happily ever after" type girl. I would've LOVED to have seen Thorin fall in love and get married and live a long happy life. Seeing him thaw out a bit would've been AMAZING! (Not thinking about Richard playing romance. No not me. Not at all! *wink*)
I am curious, original draft? Did Tolkien have a different ending in an earlier draft? If Jackson goes with the book ending its going to kill me! I love Thorin. Sigh. To many feels.
Actually the book is the original draft because he died before he could rewrite it, although Tolkien did manage to conjure up quite a few notes that Pete Jackson used in the movies. (might be where the love story came from)
In the behind the scenes footage, I believe part 8, the cast talk about how Kili looks and they think he will be considered the handsome dwarf, because he looks the most human. When I watch that I get the feeling that they didn't anticipate that people would love Fili as well. Maybe they would have used that more if they had known it. I actually find him very interesting as a character, since he's young and reckless like Kili, but has more weight on his shoulders because he's Thorin's heir. So he's probably expected to act more responsible, despite his young age. And I like how protective he is of Kili.
It's also because Kili and Thorin have so much in common with each other--dark hair, bad-ass with a bow and arrow, and sometimes they have a private soft spot for the underdog. Kili is the younger nephew, so he doesn't have the same pressure on Fili's shoulders.
Kili looks so proud of himself after slapping the troll's toe with his sword. He's like, "Ooo, yeah! I gave him a good one. Look at me. Am I cool or what?" Maybe a little overambitious, Kili. BUT...you were saving a friend.
The choice for these 3 characters was effective indeed. I just watched the two of the Hobbit's movie last week. I didn't have the mood two years ago to watch the movies during their premier and it took me so long to even watch them in my player. However, I will not refuse the idea that after watching the two films, and it is so funny that they were hooked my mind indeed. Yeah, Kili got my attention but when I have played the movie the second time, uncle Thorin got the looks too. Well, we cannot help sometimes liking some of the characters, it's just normal for the most to simply like and love them. I call this LCS or the "last character syndrome" or simply the character that will linger in one's mind for the next days right after watching a movie.
"Kili is the cheeky, the more odaciois kinda guy. Hes up for fun and hes up for smashing people's heads. Their the youngest so they can find the funny side." -Aidan Turner
I'm really looking forward to the next movie - cause Richard Armitage said in an interview they'll be exploring his relationship with his nephews a lot more in it - so I'm excited
I'm going through the Blue-Ray extras right now, and I was waiting and waiting for Dean to come in, and he wasn't there and wasn't there--until AFTER the first block of shooting. They'd already shot Bag End AND Trollshaw before he was cast! If you're ever wondering why you don't see much of him in those scenes, it's because everything with him had to be shot and added in after the fact!
I swear at the beginning of the video, it felt like richard forgot his character's full name. He was like thorin... Oakenshield. Or maybe he just did that for the "dramatic" effect!
I think everybody's dreading the battle in the third movie :( But I am confident that these three will give great performances. We know exactly how Thorin dies, but Fili and Kili's deaths are open to interpretation - I bet it will be heart-wrenching :(
Richard Armitage either never read, or else forgot, "The Council of Elrond" in "The Lord of the Rings". Thorin might be affected by the dragon sickness, but his father and grandfather were more likely influenced by the Ring of Durin. The seven rings given to the dwarf lords had ALMOST no effect on their bearers, except to inflame a major case of greed in them.
I don't know if there was more development in the uncle-nephews relationship in the actual book, but it would have been nice to see more of it in the movies.
There wasn't. I don't think Tolkien even mentions that Kili and Fili are Thorin's nephews until the very end of the book where he says they fell defending him "with shield and body for he was their mother's elder brother."
Loads of people have been saying about why they like Fìli/kìli/thorin so I might as well say. First thing yes I am a fangirl, but i was a fangirl of them before the films came out so it has nothing to do with how they look. The fact that they are attractive, great! But that doesn't matter to me. I also love Ori, he's so sweet.
My three favorite Dwarves. 😁 The only thing I wasn't a fan with the final movie was how Fili and Kili had died versus the book. Both died defending their Uncle in battle and not as they had in the movie.
I find it very funny that Thorin yells out "Kili" in The Unexpected Journey when it's clearly Fili that is in peril. It's also written as 'Kili' in the script. It does seem as if Fili's character was underutilized so I wonder what the reasoning behind this was.
okay so like Tolkien had a hard time keeping everyone's names straight too and often times he mixes up the dwarfs' names like once he called Fili the youngest when he'd stated before Kili was so really no one knows what they're talking about
Well, in Thorin's defense I did read today that it's actually a mechanism that kicks in and your brain picks out the first name it comes to that have similar relationships (i.e. nephews) so I guess I can cut him some slack.
No, he's right. Dis is Thorin's only sister. He introduces Fili and Kili, in the book, as "the sons of my father's daughter" when they get to Lake Town.
Ok. Just noticed something here... I love the Hobbit and LotR, and Peter Jackson's adaptations are amazing BUUUT... they are the heirs of the house of Durin, which is the clan of the LONGBEARDS... Makes you go huh right? (Even though Thorin has a massive beard in the book, Common Peter!)
I believe the actor for Thorin had an explanation for that. He said in an interview that Thorin kept his beard short in mourning and he would have grown it out after the quest had he lived. No word on Fìli but he's likely emulating his uncle and his reasons. Kìli is supposed to be keeping his face trimmed because of his archery, so it doesn't get caught in his bow. Realistically it was probably for the same reason they had such different hairstyles, so people could tell them apart easier.
I could listen to Richard Armitage's voice all day...
Agree. Too bad marvel already wasted him in Captain America the First Aevenger as a random hitman. He's be great as the all out villain.
^ surprise, surprise you haven't read the comics have you?
Tara Louise What happened in the comics?
Can't really go by the comics. Tony Stark and Gamora (green chick in GOTG) had a relationsip, but I doubt we will see that in the movies. Too bad though, I like her far more than I like Pepper.
if you heard it with headphones OMG!! i died
I am not saying they don't look great without costumes, but god, the costumes really brings out their features and characters. Richard Armitage's eyes and voice are so sexy I wanna cry.
+SmileyPeony So much agreement.
😭😭
agreed.
I'm only disappointed that Fili didn't have that grief moment for when he died. Kili and Thorin both did,why not for him? :(

keanataire so all three died? And they dont have heirs now? 😭

The way Richard says "Thror"
I love his dark voice ❤❤❤
i really wish fili and kili did become king :(
They will be buried in the Extended edition, but we wont be able to see them be crowned because they are dead. (Spoiler) We will though be able to see King Dain become king over Erebor
And let's not forget Dain is also one of the best-looking of the Dwarves.
Omg I never realised that Kili and Fili actually look like Thorin!
"their the youngest and the fittest" Damn right they are!
richard's voice 😍
Richard Armitage your voice is smooth like butter I COULD SPEAD THAT ON TOAST! 😬
Even if thorin is angry you love him you love everything about him

Thorin is a very attractive Dwarf XD
fili's voice is so cute^^
Richard's voice is pure liquid gold ❤️
I absolutely loved the movies, but the one thing I missed was a moment for Fili. that's why the love story was terrible. Died thinking that he actually loved Tauriel. NO. I REFUSE TO BELIEVE THIS. THIS LOVE STORY MAKES ME SO MAD.
Ahhhh.... I would love to have brothers like these three! And a neighbour like dear old Bilbo Baggins!
MrShenhai well, two brothers and an uncle.
i love Aidan Turner and i love Kili. He's a good addition to the story. Fili and Kili bring sort of the comic relief to the movie which i do enjoy from a story that was meant for seriousness. I know!!!
The Hobbit made me watch so many series! :3
Being Human with Aidan Turner (Kili)
The Almighty Johnsons with Dean O'gorman (Fili)
And Pushing Daisies with Lee Pace (Thranduil)
I love them all so much O.O
And The Office and Sherlock because I think Martin Freeman is a bit of a cutie himself.
lmao me too...Seeing Lee Pace as Thranduil and then as Ned was so weird, they're so different. Cracked me up though.
That freakin Aidan Turner smirk
Man I wish Tolkien had've stayed with his original draft of The Hobbit! I'm a "happily ever after" type girl. No, I think that the deaths tells a better story personally. Its more real and less Disney.
Actually the book is the original draft because he died before he could rewrite it, although Tolkien did manage to conjure up quite a few notes that Pete Jackson used in the movies. (might be where the love story came from)
This is where fanfiction plays a part lol
Oh I agree Emma! I love fanfiction and I've written some. Watching Thorin die though is gonna be rough!
Aidan is just so cute, when he's laughing😍😍😍
WHY DO THE HOT ONES DIE!!!????
Uhm, excuse? Who dies?!
Thorin, Fili and Kili
When did they die?
OMG! How can you be a hobbit fan if you don't know when they die. They die at the end during the battle of five armies.
Please, these three were made hot just so the inevitable tragic end would hurt that much more, and man is it gonna hurt!
"Best fighters!" Hello! Dwalin anyone?
Hello! Bombur anyone?
Megan Stokes
Bombur is SUCH a badass with his ladle!!!
Dwalin is a great fighter but I'll stick with Thorin.
Behind the scenes are so fun to watch. Its awesome to see how they made it.
They are all attractive but everyone's all obsessed with Kili and I think Fili is hotter lol
Lol omg yes ! Heheh love them both tho :)
Gandelf is hotter than both of them.
Ali Malek Alfrid was the hunk of the last two movies.
Haha me too.
In the behind the scenes footage, I believe part 8, the cast talk about how Kili looks and they think he will be considered the handsome dwarf, because he looks the most human. Richards voice is giving me eargasms
I remember I heard Richard said that Thorin has a soft spot for Kili
It's also because Kili and Thorin have so much in common with each other--dark hair, bad-ass with a bow and arrow, and sometimes they have a private soft spot for the underdog.
Kili is the younger nephew, so he doesn't have the same pressure on Fili's shoulders.
Can we say that Richard Armitage might be the modern Ian McKellen? Method actor, so passionate about acting. Fantastic.
Kili looks so proud of himself after slapping the troll's toe with his sword. He's like, "Ooo, yeah! I gave him a good one. Look at me. Am I cool or what?" Maybe a little overambitious, Kili. BUT...you were saving a friend.
i've got to say,Thorin's voice is sexy!
Kili is the Pippin :D
austin burtt ori is my favourite dwarf in the movies. he always says the darndest shit lol.
*****
And fuck you too Sir.
Bofur explaining who Smaug is... Hilarious!
Yes xd
Thorin, Kili and Fili have totally made me forget about Boromir, Faramir and Aragorn..... Who is Legolas, again???
Shame
austin burtt
Shame about Boromir though. That makes it less easy to tell.
Legolas? Never heard of him
the elf prince
😂
Richard is made to play thorin's role !!
Fili is so perfect x.x
Thorin is so attractive DAMN!🥰🥰🔥🔥🔥😍😍😍
I JUST KNEW THAT FILI AND KILI IS THE NEPHEW OF THORIN.OMG >
Yessyca Sugianto well it's stated in Desolation, Fíli calls Thorin "Uncle".
The choice for these 3 characters was effective indeed. I just watched the two of the Hobbit's movie last week. I call this LCS or the "last character syndrome" or simply the character that will linger in one's mind for the next days right after watching a movie.
I would like to have thorin as uncle too.
Love you thorin ❤️
Omg Thorin is so hot😍❤
I would say Fili and Kill and Thorin Ori and Nori are my favorite character and of course bilbo.
Dean and Aidan is so gorgeous !!
Such good actors.
They're probably going to have this heart wrenching scene in the last movie, and I think I'm going to cry like a baby :(
I was 12 when I first read the book and believe me...I did cry
"Kili is the cheeky, the more odaciois kinda guy. Hes up for fun and hes up for smashing people's heads. Their the youngest so they can find the funny side." -Aidan Turner
Thorin is handsome but too serious and older. Fili is good looking but Kili is SO gorgeous. I like Kili the most. He is so charming and funny.
If you're ever wondering why you don't see much of him in those scenes, it's because everything with him had to be shot and added in after the fact!
Hope we see more of the Durin family interacting in the next film!!!
Love the perspective!! 😍🥰
After watching these BTS (behind the scenes) w/ the dwarves, I can understand them & love them even more!!
Richard done great as Thorin
Awesome....
all three of them are hot but im lovin on some Aidan Turner aka Kili :3
Richard's voice is like coffee and honey.
Love them soooo much!!!
I didn't know they were related!!! This video tells sooo much!
filli and killi are the sons of a dwarf woman called Dis who was Thorin's sister so they are his nephews.
***** That helps, thanks!
Who doesn't know that????
I love your last name! Good to see someone who loves Thorin as much as I do!
I swear at the beginning of the video, it felt like richard forgot his character's full name. He was like thorin... Oakenshield. Or maybe he just did that for the "dramatic" effect!
Thorin the most handsome dwarf in this movie.
I love kili, fili and thorin :3
Atleast smile for a bit Thorin 😂😂
I think everybody's dreading the battle in the third movie :( But I am confident that these three will give great performances. We know exactly how Thorin dies, but Fili and Kili's deaths are open to interpretation - I bet it will be heart-wrenching :(
KILIS IRISH!!!! KILIS IRISH!!!!! AAAARRRRGGGGGHHHH!

No, he actually did.
And Thorin never got to wear his family's Ring of Durin because Sauron took it from Thorin's father Thrain.
they´re the most handsome no wonder they´re relatives !

The battle of five armies will kill me.
Loads of people have been saying about why they like Fìli/kìli/thorin so I might as well say. First thing yes I am a fangirl, but i was a fangirl of them before the films came out so it has nothing to do with how they look. The fact that they are attractive, great! But that doesn't matter to me. I also love Ori, he's so sweet.
kili is hot
You know it. But Aidan Turner is pretty weird looking.
are you kidding aidan turner is bloody gorgeous, him in the clinic mmmmm
Hahah...What. After watching the promo pictures of City OF Bones, I'm pretty inlove with Aidan Turner.
Thorin yeaaa ♥ ^^^
Excellent video thanks for sharing!
Who woulda guessed the dude playing Thorin Oakenshield was a girly-man queer in real life?
I am totally gonna bawl my eyes out during the Battle of Five Armies. Tolkien killed off the three best dwarves in the book! :'(
I always wanted Fili and Kili to have a bigger role in these movies.
Hope we see these guys interacting a bit more in the next film!!!
My three favorite Dwarves. 😁
The only thing I wasn't a fan with the final movie was how Fili and Kili had died versus the book. Both died defending their Uncle in battle and not as they had in the movie.
Right I was not looking forward to their deaths but was looking forward to that bond and have them die by his side defending each other.
Yeah Thorin was mortally wounded during the battle of the five armies and both Fili and Kili died defending him.
kili is hella fine . . . . hey boo i see you. . . i've watched the hobbit over 100 times i love it so much
“Angry, burdened man hardened by life”
Sir the word you’re looking for is “broody” lmao
i love fili and kill!!!
"They're the new hope." Ahh, along with Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa!
i
0:48 my my my it must be my birthday!!
OMG! Nice eyes you have! eh eh eh! such a cheeky grin.. ;) But I'm more Fili.. ^_^ so you can own Kili Girl! hahaha
They are just two beautiful beings. It's like their faces were carved in the halls of mandos!
Omg I had NO IDEA they were related hahahaha
I find it very funny that Thorin yells out "Kili" in The Unexpected Journey when it's clearly Fili that is in peril. It's also written as 'Kili' in the script. It does seem as if Fili's character was underutilized so I wonder what the reasoning behind this was.

Well, in Thorin's defense I did read today that it's actually a mechanism that kicks in and your brain picks out the first name it comes to that have similar relationships (i.e. nephews) so I guess I can cut him some slack.
Fili and Bilbo
No, he's right. Dis is Thorin's only sister. He introduces Fili and Kili, in the book, as "the sons of my father's daughter" when they get to Lake Town.
They're all so cute... I can't wait for the Desolation of Smaug:D
MY EMOTIONS

My babies...
I LOVE FILI AND KILI
It was during the premier, the interviewer asked them what the weirdest thing they did on set was and they said it was this.
Realistically it was probably for the same reason they had such different hairstyles, so people could tell them apart easier.
how can you forget legolas!!!!!!!
For everyone who has read the book, you know how I feel about Thorin.
it's so sad that Thorin Kili and Fili die :'(
