The World Wrestling Network was Jim Crockett's thing with Paul Heyman's involvement. They had a taping in TX in July 1993 and NY at the Manhattan Center in Feb. 1994. There was talk that ECW was going to become part of the WWN and that Tod Gordon was going to be the local WWN promoter representing them in the Northeast. Eddie Gilbert didn't like the idea of doing business with Crockett (Eddie still had heat with Crockett over how he handled the UWF purchase), and so he left ECW and Paul took his place as head booker. The WWN never really got off the ground, and so the partnership dissolved The tapings that Crockett had in TN happened later in 1994 under the NWA name, and then by October 94, he set up in TX and ran shows at the Dallas Sportatorium as the NWA. He had a North American champion, and the Rock 'N Rolls won a tournament for the resurrected NWA tag team titles. .The promotion folded around May 1995.
Heyman got fired around 2004/5 for snooping on a private conference call discussing Raw and WM21 (he was already suspended before this). Then he left in December 06 after the ECW ppv which was a bust.

Fans care about how what they watch makes them feel, how much joy they get out of it (or don't), and the impact it makes on them (or doesn't). @@chrischar9428 I'm not saying it's wrong for Cornette, or anyone else in the business, to see it that way. My point is that once they expect people outside in the real world to look at wrestling from a business perspective, they've lost the proverbial plot. In this specific case, for example people glorify and have nostalgia for ECW because they enjoyed watching it and it made them feel something. People outside the business don't care whether or not Paul was fiscally responsible, and they shouldn't be expected to.
I know everything has to be by the book and word for word truth for Jim & Brian but I actually like Heyman’s embellishments 😂😂😂 its pro-wrestling…i dont mind my imagination having to work
City Boy Cornette
Hillbilly Heyman
Cornette sounds very Jealous of Paul Heyman 😂😂
Deep down he is. Not a knock on Jim but it's true. As much as he says (and I think truly believes.) otherwise there is a small part of him at least that wishes he'd had the longevity Paul has.
Why would he be jealous? What does Heyman have that Corny covets? Corny has his wife, puppy dog, Castle Cornette, this podcast, his collection, his experiences and memories, and he’s financially as comfortable as he needs to be. If Corny wanted to be back in the thick of things on TV, he could be. He has stated many times that he’s very happy with his life as it is today and has no desire to be back working on TV, directly in the wrestling business.
@@iamcasiharthe absolutely couldn’t be on Wwe or any wrestling company if he wanted to GTFOH he’s racist no company would touch him…the last company he was with fired him for making a racist joke… he’s bitter because he hasn’t had an impact in wrestling in almost 30 years
@@iamcasihart From a purely professional level. Jim is (rightly) proud of his position as one of the greatest managers of all time, but there are as many people who hate him as love him. Heyman has done legitimately fucked up things, like not paying ECW guys what he owed them and yet he's getting massive pops at shows to this day. Also, Jim absolutely blames Heyman and ECW for "garbage death match" wrestling which he has said multiple times "ruined" wrestling. Maybe jealously is not the 100 percent right word, I think it's more of a passive aggressive dislike. That's where the fat jokes everytime Heyman's name is mentioned comes from, it's Jim's way of needling him cause he doesn't want to come out and say " I hate the motherfu"*er".
@@hassan74ish You sound like a really observant, neutral party in all this. Lol. Also, he absolutely wasn't "fired" from that NWA gig...he actually resigned due to how they handled the situation.
Fit avc mmmabn Shiuli gor have motley atted
Jim loves heyman!
BRICKED UP SHAWTY
Picture this pro wrestling world years 2000. You got corny and paul e. Running the show for WWF, and you got bischoff and russo running WCW ..if only
ECW❤
It's cute that Cornette thinks he's still on the same level as Heyman.
