  • A short original piece performed on a reconstruction of two pipes excavated from Pompeii. Pipes of this kind-known as the aulos or tibia-were the primary wind instruments of ancient Greece & Rome for over 1000 years. Here, R.W. Enoch plays replicas of pipes 2 & 3, made of brass-covered blackwood cores with adjustable silver & bronze sleeve rings by Marco Sciascia. The originals reside in the collections of the MANN archaeological museum in Naples. This pair of reeds were made by Max Brumberg.
